So here I am late on Wednesday to finally get a REDnesday post in.
My pictures this time is sort of a backtracking of the last couple of weeks.
Sue has been a wonderful host for this everyweek.
First up is the RED in our church on Palm Sunday.
The table in front was used for objects that were placed there by readers for that day.
I was one of them and placed the bag of coins on the right side of the table.
There were several of us and I was the first one to set the tone for the readings.
I guess I am good at that.
Last year I was the second reader and then the rest following me did the same type of pacing and reading style that I did. I enjoy being a reader and I almost always put a little drama into it.
Here are the palm crosses and the bulletin for the day which has lots of RED.
I used to always help make palm crosses, but now that I work so much I am not able to help with that.
I wanted to show what the chancel area looked like after the altar was stripped. I missed the attending the service on Maundy Thursday due to working too late to attend. It was a long day for me.
But this is how we started the Easter Vigil service on Saturday evening.
I just have to show you some scenery again.
This was on the way home after the rehearsal for the
Easter Vigil service. Yes I was a reader again. And did the first one.
Notice it is not raining here. On Easter it was pouring rain most of the day.
I don't remember it ever raining on Easter Sunday around here.
On the way home we stopped at the Barking Dog to get more coffee.
I took a picture of it to share I think on my last post.
Well, this building is across from the Barking Dog and we were sitting at that light to take a picture of it.
This time the picture is of The Big 3 Diner. The awnings are a REDdish color.
We have eaten there a couple of times. We ate there for breakfast not too long ago.
This is on our way back to church for the Easter Vigil Service.
That pointy mountain in the distance is Mt George.
It is sort of a landmark mountain I guess. You can see it from most of the valley unless you have
buildings or trees blocking your view.
This is something I have always wanted to get a picture of and I finally got it.
This is on the road we take to get to church or to my parents house. When we have lots of rain,
that smaller building on the left is actually in the water.
I don't know how old this small house is, but I think it is empty now.
There is no road leading to it. Often the hillside is dotted with cows/bulls.
Looks like you can see at least one in the picture.
Anyway, here you have a RED building!
During the Easter Vigil we go from the dark, baren chancel to
the celebration of Easter as we rejoice in Christ's victory over death.
We paraded the items in to dress the altar and add the banners and flowers. Actually the
banners came in first. I carried in the one on the right. Then
I was able to make two more trips in carrying something. There were several of us
participating in this. This is actually my favorite service of the entire year.
The banners have some dark RED, the Paschal candle has RED and the book on the altar is RED.
A couple of silly pictures of me. I was cooking the sauce for my
green bean dish at my sister-in-law's house.
My vest that I made quite a few years ago has touches of RED and behind me there is
RED stuff on the counter. It is amazing where the REDs pop up sometimes.
After spooning the sauce into the green bean casserole, my sis-in-law
takes a picture of me licking the spatula. Silly us.

It was a good day for us.
And to update you,
I am doing much better. Still get really tired at times, but feel like I am mostly back to normal.
One of these days soon I will try to make an appointment with the OB/GYN and make sure
nothing is wrong in that area. The pain I had has stopped for now.
And the longer daylight hours have really helped too.
