IT`S NOT THE COUGH THAT CARRIES YOU ORF..............

I`ve never been one for feeling sorry for myself but, Boy, have I been feeling sorry for myself these past two weeks! I`ve apparently got a touch of Bronchitis according to last Thursday`s diagnosis and it`s seriously hacking me off (pardon the pun). The tiredness has subsided and I`m hoping and praying that the doubled-up penicillin which I`ve been prescribed will kill this annoying rumbling in my chest. I`m really trying to be positive and not give into it so let`s stop talking about it!

This morning the Postie left another lovely parcel for me from the very lovely Julie over at Swedish House - I won her Giveaway which included a voucher for Cath Kidston and a really pretty mug showing a London Bus scene. Also included in the box was a card with the most gorgeous Heart Wreath on the front so I`m looking for a nice frame to put it in to keep for posterity. (I`ve done that with all the cards which I`ve received from the Blog Sisterhood - it`s a `me` thing!).

I just want to add that I`ve had some really lovely `get well` wishes from some of you lovely creatures in Blogland and I very much appreciate each and every one. The kindness of strangers is overwhelming sometimes. I couldn`t ask for more.

I love the tape Julie used on the box.

I was maybe going to buy something for my Grandaughter or the house with my gift token but I`ve decided to be really selfish and use it on myself!Isn`t the card sweet?Thank you so much, Julie.

There`s a great swap in progress over at Mrs Yappy Dog`s place. Look to sidebar and you`ll find the link. It`s a good job I went to the library yesterday and took out this book!

No, they`re not sausages on a stick in the background, they`re Xmas Trees, honest!

How cute is this little Snowmen Garland?

That`s all for now folks. Have the rest of a great weekend.

RED PARCEL DAY

Not a great start to the day with the news of the earthquake in New Zealand. My cousin lives in Christchurch so after some frantic Facebooking this morning, I managed to get good news that she was out of town visiting friends when it struck so at least I know she is safe. I haven`t heard how badly her house or neighbourhood have been affected yet but expect some more news later. It`s pretty serious I`ve been told.

Anyhoo, the morning got better when the Postie came a-knocking and left a lovely red parcel for me from Jille, my new swap partner on The Shabby Vintage Swap. I love swapping, I really do but I always think I could have done better by my partners, no matter how well I think I`ve chosen their gifts! I hope Jille will be happy with her parcel because I am thrilled with mine....and here it is.......

Firstly, a lovely bundle of goodies wrapped in pretty pink tissue paper......

........which, when unwrapped included these very pretty things......... an especially nice 'vintage' cupcake holder which will give me an excuse for buying some nice cupcakes to put on it tomorrow!

I love this little knitted washcloth with the prettiest crocheted flower and button embellishment - it`s far too nice to use and I`ve got just the perfect place to show it off - my new shelf unit with hooks underneath (all assembled and fitted by my own fair hands, I`ll have you know! One Cordless Drill, One Woman...anything`s possible!)

....and isn`t this photo frame adorable? It goes perfectly with the bejewelled one which Shaz from Shabby Chic Bohemian sent me as part of our swap. I love jewels, me, because after all, diamonds are a girl's best friend! - look how these ones gleam in the light - very pretty....

.....and what do you think to this fab little coin purse? Isn`t it just too cute? I love it....

......and check out this lovely vintage apron (sorry about some of pics) - it has some really pretty lace around the pocket (that`s my washcloth sticking out of it!) and the bib. I love the floral pattern on it too.
Also included in this bumper bundle were some lovely floral paper napkins, a bag of Thorntons Mint Humbugs which will come with us on our family picnic tomorrow and a funny little Fortune Fishy, you know the kind that curl up in front of your eyes and can tell your future....jus` like that!?Can`t wait to see what it has to tell me!
So, all in all, I`m yet again a very lucky lady to have had such a kind and generous swap partner in Jille and my only hope is that I have done her proud with the parcel I`ve sent to her. Thanks so much, Jille.x
