Tuesday = Soccer

Every Tuesday after school we get home, have a snack and get ready for soccer practice. It is a great way for the boys to burn their energy, and they love to tell people "I play soccer" or like they say in the rest of the world "football". We belong to the "British Football Academy Tokyo". The coaches are all British and we always have practice - rain or shine. Isabel and I just enjoy watching the boys running after the ball and having a great time.

Isabel's 2nd Birthday

I can't believe my baby is turning 2! It has been a wonderful 2 years as she has brought so much fun to our previous "boys only" home. She plays so well with them and they treat her like the little princess she is.

To celebrate K.C. and I made cupcakes so we could sing again and open presents. This time she figured out that she needed to blow the candles. She already knew what to do about the cake and ice cream. Happy Birthday Isabel!

Japan Open Air Folk House Museum

Today we had so much fun with the kids. It was a beautiful day as we entered 17th century Japan. The museum Nihon Minkaen is huge, so the kids got to run around and we admired the architecture from so many years ago. We even got treated to a wonderful concert of taiko drumming. We'll probably make it back again soon.

Children's Day

May 5th it's a holiday in Japan called Kodomo no hi or Children's Day. Since the boys were off school and Cameron didn't have to go to work, we decided to have a barbacue with some of our friends. Since it was almost time for Isabel's birthday, I baked a chocolate cake and we sang "happy birthday". Isabel didn't know what to make of it, but she did LOVE the cake!What am I supposed to be doing? The kids had a blast playing with their friends and we enjoyed a pleasant day filled with good food and wonderful company. We need to do it more often!

K.C. on a two wheeler!

Since K.C. has been doing so well on his two wheel scooter, I thought we'd give the bike a try. Last Tuesday was a holiday so we went to Yoyogi park and let K.C. ride down the same hill where Vanya learned to ride a few months ago.

There he goes! On the first try, he was amazing! Just need to learn to use the breaks and we'll be all set.

Last Sunday we took pictures of the kids after church, mostly because Isabel looked so cute in the sailor dress the Mylroies from St. George gave her last summer. I can hardly believe she'll be turning 2 next week!! I never noticed how fast time flies until I had children. The whole thought got us started watching home movies. The kids love it and want to see themselves as babies. I must admit it's been very helpful. Anytime Vanya gets upset about something I just picture his cute 1 yr. old face and all this tender feelings come rushing back helping me avoid an argument.

The weather is getting warmer and warmer. The next pictures of the boys will probably show their summer haircuts, but I must say I LOVE K.C.'s long hair.
