Gave Up*

I forced myself to pull the plug on it. It was getting too hard to handle. I'd inject myself with it every other minute of the day. I'd wake up to it, sleep to it, drive with it, work with it, drink with it... a seemingly endless list. The withdrawal symptoms were severe but it was getting too unhealthy for me to even think of continuing with it.

I checked into Nine Inch Nails Rehab. I'm listening to Jay Z now.

*As dramatic as it may sound, Gave Up was the last song I heard.

Update ver 1.0: I had a relapse by "accident" when I was organizing my music. I'm screwed again.

Me and my freakin' sampler. Here's what got me off the wagon, if you are interested (Sampled 35 seconds of Head Down played Live in Cleveland on August 22, 2008. Yes, I was there by default.)

Art Of Resistance

Change of plans - I'm back on NIN. Some pictures posted. Stories later. I met Trent Reznor and had a 5 minute talk with him.

My ticket: The seat number didn't matter because I ended up watching the whole concert from backstage/pit/and on stage too.

Trent Reznor signed my CD, I asked him to write "Right Where It Belongs". Turns out his writing is worse than mine.

Might look like I'm in deep thought but I'm just scaling the horizon for the nearest restroom (a real one and not an open area!) with a beer in hand (you can't see).

Wave Goodbye*

Tommorow is my last Nine Inch Nails concert. I've made a conscious, calculated and a determined decision to wrap up my Nine collection after tomorrow and stash it away in the basement for my kids. I've listened to every one of their 562 songs including a rare remix from Nicaragua. Actually, it's 563 if I include one of my own remixes I uploaded to nin.com. It took me a week to make a remix of Lights In The Sky. It took me two months to figure out how the remixing software worked. Nonetheless, by some random stroke of luck, my remix was approved by Trent Reznor and it's available on the website under my blogger username, if you have a NIИ account and if you're interested of course.

Also, I'm going to meet him and probably try to have a chat with him if I don't get nervous. I'm also going to try and tell him not to stop with NIИ (He's moving back to his old project Tapeworm after this tour) but I'm sure there are a million people who have already told him so.

But as far as I'm concerned, this is it for me. I've heard their songs every single day of my life for the past year to date. Not that I get a million hits for it to make a difference.

I might sneak in another story with pictures from the concert tomorrow. We shall see.

I.am.officially.bored.of.all.their.songs.

*The name they are currently touring with.

NIИ

I'm going to have a beer with Trent Reznor. I received an email from him confirming it. Believe it.

You will be contacted by email closer to the date of the show. Normally you will need to arrive early, and would go to the venue box office. Make sure to bring a printed copy of your receipt and photo ID. Arrival time can vary based on venue and sound check times. We do not need your guests name at this time, the itinerary will be held under the name you provided at purchase time for you and your guest. We thank you for your support and hope to see you at the show.
