MY GIRLY STATION:



mannequin from when i worked at Nordstroms..
bowl of lockets.watches.doodads.
 earring board..just framed a thick weave burlap in a rustic wooden frame
all my earrings just hook into place..and the post ones just tack right into the card board backing.
yes. those peace signs are vintage from the actual 70s.thank you mom.
 left over pallet from a shower.. couldn't throw it away just yet..
loved seeing the vintage gold and pearls against the beat up pallet.
my fancy wood snob hubs could not bare to look at it.. so it lasted only a few months.boo.

MY SEWING AREA::

i love seeing peoples workspaces..this is definitely not motivating or inspiring..but just thought id share.
i nailed up this shoe sorter and it keeps my scraps neatly folded and for me to see and whip out for quick last min projects..
rustic twine.CHUNKY b+w twine im obsessed with..
pin cushion from my dear friend tira.gold safety pins.and a hot pink glove box of my grandmothers-
i store my favorite buttons and trim inside.


FORT KITS!

FAMILY CHRISTMAS GIFT:
 remember the doorway puppet theatre kits i made last year? 
here's what mary+i came up with for our dear sweet friends this year.
here's what it included:
king size falt sheet with ties+loops sewn on each corner+middle.
rope.suction cups.clips.clothespins.
glowstix.flashlights.popcorn+snackies
made a fun striped bag to store it in that was square on the bottom-
to accommodate all the supplies+room for more tarps+sheets
you could add a DVD or game-we added KoNEXI.
its a 3D Jenga/Scrabble game :)

valentines treats

happy valentines day!!
we gave out recycled crayon hearts+salted caramels+scotchmallows
mmmmm.. kept fresh in ma freezer. 

 mary+steph+i got together for our annual caramel making party and busted out these fun recylced heart crayons for our kiddies valentines. they say:
YOU COLOR MY WORLD.
just inserted a little printed sheet behind the crayon.folded the top over with hot glue. tadah!
            

i was in charge of the little backdrop for our wards talent show..
TRIPLED as valentines decor+backdrop for a sweet shower.{pics coming..}
so i didnt mind putting in the HOURS of folding and pleating.and ruffling.
i used a couple red sheets i bought on sale at ikea for like 4$ and ripped up 4" 
strips and ruffled +pleated them.also used the grainy muslin.
BECKHAM changed his mind last min from showing off his:
super duper fast puzzle solver to..
singing "i love to see the temple".. impressive!!
i dont think anyone else sang at the talent show. he freestyled some words..like 
"i'll prepare myself while i am God.."
but we loved it. go Becks!

lion.russian trapeze artist.tight rope walker.lion tamer.
{& when oliver wasn't a lion.. beckham took on the lead as
ringleader..he loved wearing the top hats..}

im like the ringleader. i call the shots.

striped lined coat-tails.red velvet.gold sequin trim.grandma cocos buttons.duponi silk. and a nut.
elastic sequins have changed my life. i want to never use ugly elastic ever again.
this stuff is genius..just remember to tape the ends before you cut.
for his pants: i just cut his legs extra wide up top so it would be bunchy+balloon
out a little..same pattern for jammies.i sewd these babies up in less then 10min.
totally proud if i dont say so myself..first time makin a jacket..
a military jacket! i couldn't find any patterns online..so i just patterned it
after one of mr beckhams dress shirts and made one side extra wide..
started making a practice round with a fun black+white striped fabric..and voila!
i made it into the lining!sleeves were pretty tricky.. i now know you
sew up the side-into the armpit-then down the bottom seam of the arm.
. . .
and added some pretty awesome coat tails..
