20 Months

I know I say this every month but seriously... "Where does the time go?" Ledger is seeming less and less like a baby and more and more like a little boy. He is into everything and thanks to his Rasmussen genes he is now tall enough to reach the deadbolts! I have to take extra precautions to shut & lock all the doors and lock the dog door if I need to do anything out of view... like shower or use the bathroom! He loves his dogs but maybe a little more than they can handle lately. He drops his head and plows into them when he wants to wrestle, they aren't always appreciative. He loves to pat Chevy and tell her she's a "good girl", he has even told me I'm a "good girl" a few times recently. Apparently he doesn't hear us say "good boy" nearly as much. Lately he & I have been enjoying quiet, lazy mornings together cuddling in bed. We recently bought a new TV and Ledger loves to come in and watch Sesame Street. It's one of my favorite parts of our day. Marq recently introduced him to Fraggle Rock and he loves it. He will stand in front of the TV and watch nearly an entire episode. He loves books. He'll randomly bring me books and ask me to sit down and read to him. We read everywhere, even on the potty. At night he prefers Marq read to him, he is wiggly when I read but he sits so still on Marq's lap and studies every page.
He is at a really fun, very active age. We love to watch the wheels turn as he learns new things and thinks. He is such a ham and is always cracking us up with his faces and goofy personality. I am loving being with him all the time and getting to see him develop into his own little person. What a joy he is!

Koda Bear

Marq is out of town this week and Koda is driving me crazy! He normally goes to work with Marq on most days which keeps him out of trouble.
We noticed an abscess on his paw a few days ago so I've been soaking his paw in epsom salt twice a day all week which isn't easy to get him to hold still for. Today he came back from a romp through the forest with a big red scratch up his right arm. This kid! You can bet I'll be sending him right back to work on Monday morning.

Playdate

This morning we had our first playdate with a local group that I joined for Mothers of Preschoolers.
We met at the park and had lots of fun playing.
Played hard.

Daddy Weekend

This weekend I got to tag along with Marq's sister Kim for a quick weekend in Seattle.
Daddy is so much fun!
They managed to find a splash park that hasn't been turned off for the year yet.
Kim & I had a blast visiting Chris & Jenn for a couple days.

Wahclella Falls

This weekend we headed out to Hood River for a quick overnight trip. Marq got to ride in Post Canyon with his Aunt & Uncle and then we hit this trail on the way home.
Marq, Chevy & I had done this hike once, years ago, but this was Ledger & Koda's first time.
Ledger loved playing in the river and throwing rocks. It was a beautiful hike, a few of the trees are starting to change but for the most part everything is still very green.

Cannon Beach

Today was Ledger's day! We headed out to Cannon Beach first thing this morning for some fun in the sun while we still can!
Ledger had fun playing in the tide pools and sand bar.
Koda & Chevy had a blast playing with the other dogs. Poor Koda got SO cold he was shivering. We had to dry him off with a towel and let him lay in the hot sand to warm up :)
Ledger loved waiting for the waves to come in. I can't believe how brave he is. The waves were cold!
The famous Haystack Rock from the movie Goonies.
He liked picking stuff up off the beach.
The dogs are so good to keep a close eye on their brother.
Our favorite girl.
So big.
Ha ha!
"Where's Ledger?"
Snack time!
"Cheeese."
These two have so much fun playing in the sand together.
We even made some friends and dug a tunnel together.
Sand! Sand EVERYWHERE!!!
Dirty, happy, tired boy.
Great day. Great memories.

Marq's Day

This year we really wanted to go camping for Labor Day but there was no way we were going to find a reservation at short notice. So... instead we decided to split up 3-day weekend and do something fun for each of us.
Saturday was Marq's day. He got up early and drove an hour and a half to a bike trail out in Sandy, which is East of us. He has been dying to do some riding so I am glad he got the chance.
