Tummy Time
Ledger has started to enjoy Tummy Time this week. It's not his favorite part of the day but he's getting stronger :)
Koda is very interested whenever Ledger is on the floor.

Bath Time
Ledger has decided he likes bath time. He sits in the warm water and seems to enjoy it now and I've even managed to bath him on my own a few times!

First Smile
Tonight I sat in the rocker with Ledger to put him to bed for the night, I turned on his lullabyes, he looked up at me and a big smile spread across his face as if to say "thanks for turning on my lullabyes mom" It melted my heart and brought tears to my eyes!

The Big 30
That's right... today I turned the big 30. I thought I'd freak out when I turned 30 but it really wasn't a big deal. I have the most amazing husband ever, a beautiful new baby, two adorable dogs, wonderful family and friends, and a home that I love... I guess I'm kind of grown up :)
Originally I had planned to head down to Utah County to have lunch with my parents but since I woke up with a sore throat I decided to stay home and have a relaxing day with Ledger. We took a nap, stayed in our pajamas and just relaxed. Jacque stopped by to visit and my family had cake & ice cream last night.
Marq brought me flowers and took me to dinner at my favorite restaurant :) It was a low key birthday this year but that was just the way I wanted it. It's going to be a GREAT year!!! Thanks babe!

2 Week Checkup
Ledger was given a clean bill of health at his checkup today. He has grown 3/4 of an inch and is now back up to his birth weight of 7 lbs 1 ounce.

Walking the Dogs
This week although the temps were pretty cold we decided to start teaching Ledger one of the first things he needs to know to live at our house... how to walk the dogs :)
Don't worry! He was bundled up and tucked into the stroller nice and snug :)Ledger loved his stroller, it put him right to sleep and the doggers appreciated the outing too.

Great Grandmas
Today Ledger met two of his great grandma's for the first time. Today is my Grandma Ovard's 80th birthday and since we didn't make it to the surprise birthday party last week, Ledger and I headed down for a visit.
After meeting Great Grandma Ovard, Ledger also got to meet my Grandma Marjean.
I'm glad Ledger got to meet both his Great Grandmas and hope that we will be able to visit a lot.

Newborn Photo Shoot
Yeah! I have been looking forward to this day since I found out I was pregnant!!! Newborn photo shoot! Wahoo! Marq's sister Kim is an amazing photographer who was sweet enough to come up from St. George to do the photos. I think they turned out beautifully!!!
First Bath
Tonight was Ledger's first bath, it was also our first time bathing a baby so I'm sure there were a lot of rookie mistakes... as you can see by Ledger's reaction. Hopefully we'll get better at it soon!

Pure Torcher
Since Ledger's bilirubin levels are still high, we have been back to the hospital every day this week for blood tests. Marq has had the whole week off work but today they needed him to come in so I took Ledger in for his blood test myself and then we went up to Marq's office to show him off a little bit. On my way up I got a call from Ledger's pediatricians office letting me know that his levels are still high and that he was going to have to have the phototherapy lights.
The lights came that afternoon and they were miserable. The baby has to be in nothing but a diaper so that their skin absorbs as much of the light as possible, they have to lay on a hard surface with just a receiving blanket and the lights don't put off any heat so you have to crank up the heat in the house and monitor their body temperature. He had to wear little cotton goggles to protect his eyes and someone has to sit with him 24 hours a day to make sure he doesn't pull them down over his nose.
Marq took the first shift until about 4 a.m. Ledger was miserable, just as he would start to fall asleep his arms would jerk and wake him up. They told me to feed him every 2 hours to help flush his system so I wasn't getting any sleep either. It was a very long night for all of us, it was hell. Friday morning we went to the lab first thing for another blood test. The poor baby is so used to being poked he sleeps through them now and his poor little heals are covered in scabs. They called that afternoon to let us know that his levels had gone down but we had to keep him under the lights for the rest of the day. Marq's mom was nice enough to come and sit with Ledger while Marq & I got some sleep and I think she will agree, those lights are torcher!!! We are SO glad to be done with them!
