A few weeks ago we had Alex's 5th birthday party. Since our yard is small and not very friendly, we had it at our friend's house (thanks Adam & Annie!). Alex loved it!! We swam and had sprinklers, opened presents and had cupcakes. Now he tells almost everyone he meets that he is 5 now and on his birthday he is going to be 6 and, as usual, if Alex is doing something, Wes wants to as well so it's killing him that it's not his birthday too. He usually tells people he's 4 already and I have to correct him.
We had our ultrasound on Monday and the boys are getting another brother. Aparently we only make one flavor (not that I'm compaining). I thought for sure it was a girl since this pregnancy has been sooooo different from the other two, but, I'll be honest, the thought of knowing what to do with a girl sent me into mini panic attacks, we would have gladly accepted either gender, but I must admit (feeling guity) that I breathed a sigh of relief. However, we did have a few great girl names and unfortunatley, we have already used all the boy names we love so this child is nameless. We will accept any name suggestions! The baby did look very healthy, all the tests came back with good results and we are so happy! They did move my due date up from January 3 to December 30, we just need him to wait until after Dec 18!!
Next, we sold our house and are moving next week, it's true... it was on the market for less than two days and we showed it 7 times and got a very good offer. It's never done until it's done, so we are on pins and needles until closing, but I can't tell you how thrilled we are! It was a bit quicker than we expected and Mike and I are feeling a little bad leaving our new callings (the beginning of July Mike was put in the Elders Quorum presidency and I was put in the Young Womens presidency) especially since we have been so enjoying them, but we did tell them when we were called that we were listing our house. So, we are heading to a new apartment (just downstairs from Grandpa & Grandma Dollar, how great is that!) in Alpine, we are sooooo excited to be back in Alpine with so much family close by and it is such a special place for both Mike and I! I am also relieved to have the whole transition completed before school starts! Which brings me to my next thing...
Alex is sooooo excited to start Kindergarten! Every morning he wakes up and askes if it's 8:00 yet, because he knows school starts at 8... He is on the early track (I was hoping for the 9:15 to 3:30 track) so he will be done by 2:30 every day, he's not used to being home so early in the afternoons, but it has been nice putting the boys to bed quite early so he's able to wake up early enough for the bus. He is also thrilled to have some of his Giant Steps friends in his class. We are excited for him to learn to read this year!!
Wesley will be going to preschool and to a friends house while I'm in school, he loves preschool and his teacher is wonderful. He does feel like he's missing out when the bus drives away without him and he has to ride in our mini van. Hopefully when he gets to Elementary school he will get to ride the bus. He has been continuing to work on his letters and number all summer so he's ready to jump right back in to school.
I've decided to go to school again this semester. Moving and expecting the baby I was thinking of taking a year off, but when it came down to it, I just couldn't turn down the scholarship money, who knows if I'd ever get it again, and I've already postponed my education for 6 years and I'm not getting any younger or any less busy... After much thought, prayer and discussion, Mike and I decided it will be easier to squeeze as much as I can in before the baby comes than to attmept it with a newborn. We are praying that the baby will wait until after finals to grace this world with his presence... the odds are against us if the other two are any indication, but I am known to be pretty stubborn once I've made up my mind I'm going to do something and I've already had a very serious talk with the baby, we'll see how obedient he is. Also, I'm going to have to figure something out for seating arrangements, because I'm pretty sure that within the next month or so, I'm not going to fit in the desks. Anyway, next week I will be starting my 16 credit hours at UVU, which just happens to be the heaviest class load I've ever taken- wish me luck!
I know what you're thinking... she's overestimating just how much she can squeeze into a 24 hour day, and I'll be honest, those thoughts have crossed my mind, but there are plenty of people who manage much more and still keep their sanity! Hopefully these next 4 months don't prove to be the end of me!
