DC Adventure Day 1

Matt and I got to have our first adventure in DC. Our wonderful friends offered to watch Karlee for us so we could have a little get away for our anniversary. We really enjoyed ourselves. Friday we went up and went to the temple, after we got out of the temple we were starving. So we thought we would go to the nearest town to find somewhere to eat. So our GPS took us right into downtown Bethesda and Matt didn't like the thought of having to find a parking spot on the street and pay for parking so we decided that maybe we should just head to our hotel. We got a hotel on the south side of DC to make the trip home shorter. Well I decided we should see if there was a Chevys Mexican restaurant in Alexandria where we were staying, I googled it on Matt's phone and sure enough there was. So I typed the address into the GPS and it said it was only 8 miles away. Well it was only 8 miles away but the GPS took us right through downtown DC on the side streets. It was really fun for me to see everything but for Matt who was driving it wasn't as fun. He's a country boy after all and driving in the city was well a little too stressful for him. So after forever we finally get to where Chevys is supposed to be according to the GPS. We look around and there was no Chevys to be seen. Well there was no Chevys but there was a Chevy dealership. Oops! I accidentally looked up Chevy instead of Chevys. Matt didn't think it was a funny mistake. But luckily for me there actually was a Chevys 3 miles up the street.  It was a fun adventure.

The 2s

I love the age that Karlee is right now. Although 2 comes with a lot of tantrums and naughtiness the things that 2 year olds say and do are so funny. Who knows where they come up with such stuff.

Heard: Me: Karlee it's time to get ready for bed.
Karlee: please I have a couple more minutes mommy

Seen and Heard: Karlee loves anything that is pink or purple. Whenever she see something of one of those colors "dat my favit mommy..dat one my favit" (thats my favorite mommy). She does it with everything: shoes, clothes, dolls, books, plates, blankets.

Seen and Heard: Karlee naming every Disney princess.

Heard: When you ask her a question she always looks up from side to side and says "um...um...um" as if she's deep in thought.

Seen: About 4 or 5 times a day Karlee will arrange all of our shoes. She will line each pair right next to each other. She even does it at friends houses. She has a love for shoes and organizing.

Heard: Karlee is such a joker. She will point to Ariel and say thats Jasmine and then laugh and say "no dats not Jasmine dats Ariel. Dat funny"

Seen and Heard: Anytime Karlee watches a movie and there is a scary part she laughs and says "Dat funny".

Heard: "I hold you mommy" when she wants to be held.

Seen: Karlee has decided that she has to sleep with like 10 different stuffed animals and dolls. Every night she tells us right where each one needs to sleep. If one is missing we won't hear the end of it until it's in it's proper place. One night she forgot about elmo...we went to bed and at about midnight she woke up screaming. Matt went in and she insisted on him finding elmo. He tried to get her just got back to sleep and she refused. He went down stairs and got elmo and all was well. Since we haven't forgot one animal. Matt says it's not worth it to try to find it in the middle of the night.

Heard: Karlee burping and says toos me (excuse me)

Seen: Karlee wearing her glasses like a champ. She never takes them off and always wants to wear them.

Seen and Heard: Karlee had her patch on and it was time to take it off and put her glasses on. Usually she's more than ready to put her glasses on. I asked her if she was ready for her glasses and she said, "no mommy I wear my patch today"

Heard: Karlee: "daddy the bomb"

Heard: Karlee "I funny."
Matt: "No I funny"
Karlee "No me"

Seen and Heard: Karlee has an attitude. If you ask her to do something she says "No you do it!" We're going to have to break that real soon.

Heard: Karlee loves to sing. It usually sounds like she's just yelling but she's always "singing". At night when we ask her what song she wants to sing before she goes to bed it's almost always Jingle Bells. She also loves to sing "Stories" (Book of Mormon Stories), "Spider song" (Itsy Bitsy Spider), "Twinkle" (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star), "Happy know it" (If your happy and you know it), "No man" (Once there was a snowman), "Popcorn", "Monkeys" (5 little monkeys jumping on the bed), "Jesus beam" (Jesus wants me for a sunbeam). And many more that I can't think of right now.
