Hip Hop Dance King Dax

Dax took a fun 4 week long Hip Hop Dance class, and here is his performance!

I want it to be my turn.

He's 2nd from the left. He was so cute with his hat to the side.

By far the best in the group!

JJ's Birthday trip to the Thurman Cafe. Columbus, OH

The day of Daddy's Birthday was also the day we went for the weekend to Columbus so he could volunteer for the Special Smiles at the Special Olympics. It just so happens that Columbus is also home to the famous Thurman Cafe. It has been featured on one of our favorite shows to watch "Man V. Food" on the Travel Channel. They are famous in particular for a burger they call "The Thurmanater".

I was definitely worth the wait. Lola decided not to eat much more than fries, but in this picture I caught her just after she dipped a leftover corn dog bite in mustard and threw it at Dax! Classic Lola.

These people have a long wait for this delicious party for your mouth.

Here's Daddy biting into his Thurman Burger, and our friends that went with us John and Cathy Wilson.

We also got a sweet deal on a nice hotel room, so the boys showed off their new "underwater" swimming skills!

Sausages, sausages

Sausages.

One day I asked the boys what kind of sandwiches they wanted for lunch. Dax, of course answered "sausage".

No, I don't let Dax just eat sausage all the time. He loves it so much that I have trained him to eat the "Morning star" brand, tofu kind! Much better for him.

Lola finishes the Teddy Bear class

Lola is all ready for her last day of School with the Toddler Program, at Sussex in the Shaker Family Center.

Mirci Family Vacation 2009 San Antonio, Texas

Here we are on our way to San Antonio, Texas. For the annual Mirci Family vacation.

Lola was the first one to volunteer to ride the horse at the fun ranch we visited. We even saw a fun old west gun show with pistols and whips.

Dax and Lola sitting pretty.

Joey only wanted to ride the horse if Aunt Shell rode with him. Papa was arrested by Pistol Packing Paula, for allegedly cheating at a card game.

He was then sentenced to sing "I'm a Little Tea Pot". He was sworn to never do it again, and released to the boys. Come to find later, that Grandma was the one to have him arrested.

Aunt Shell and Mom, sisters forever :)

Sweet new cousin Celeste Karen Mirci, Grandma and Lola swimming in the pool. Aunt Tristy, Mom, Lola and Aunt Shell, posing for the camera man's shadow.

The Mirci boys are so sweet when they sleep. Dax was making sure we didn't leave any chips or salt in the bag.

Here we all are in front of one of the beautiful Missions.

Under the arbor, and Joey taking a break in the air conditioned chapel.

The most anticipated part for us all was the trip to see the Alamo.

Joey was so excited to be at the famous Alamo, that he requested this picture of him there.

The best $10 souvenir was the pop guns the boys went crazy with all around town. It was actually very cute. They went "rabbit hunting" all through the rest of the trip. I guess the locals were used to the sound of constant popping of the wooden guns and their corks. We sure weren't!

Uncle Curtis and Aunt Kasumi know how to entertain a bored 6 year old Joey. Bring a Nintendo DS.

It did get a bit warm for our comfort. Luckily they handed out free basketball shaped "church fans" sporting the local team the Spurs.

Light sticks for the kids at the famous Shamu the whale show.

Dax and Joey were NOT happy to get SOAKED!!

A few not so happy kids, to be by the giant stuffed animals.

Joey and Dax were so excited to get their faces painted. Joey's was done very well. Dax's on the other hand was....well...nice.

Once it was time to leave, we were all ready for some rest.

This was a wonderful vacation, but unfortunately the airlines (NORTHWEST) lost our luggage. 3 very large suitcases of ours were gone. We were out a lot of stuff. We never did recover any of it. A few months later we did get a small settlement, but we will always be wary of what we do and do not pack in our checked luggage again. Daddy lost his C-PAP machine, Mommy her Chi flat iron. Joey his beloved Foo Foo, and his 1st woobie. Daxie his Meow Meow, it's twin, and the Tiger and Pooh tag woobie that Gran and Mommy made special. Lola lost lots of clothes and shoes. Not to mention a few pieces of good luggage we had accumulated over the years. All of our souvenirs were also in the luggage. Maybe we can go back again one day and get more!
