So why do they call it the most wonderful time of the year? I believe that all year every single day can be wonderful/magical if we want it to be but Christmas time is extra special because of the focus we place on our Savior and our love for others. Our perspective is what makes the difference. I love the twinkling lights the sounds of Christmas music echoing through the house, the smells of cinnamon and fresh baked goodies ready to share with a neighbor or friend, Christmas movies, Christmas cards and family letters highlighting the previous year, the anticipation of children and adults wanting to spend time together as families and friends, trips to the snow and much much more. So some will say that the magic is not real, that there is little to be happy and joyful about in a world of great war and sadness or that its just an over commercialized time of year to make people spend more money and make everyone way too busy. Where you can't go on an airplane or to the movies and not question if there will be a possible attack of some kind that could hurt or even kill those around you. I believe the opposite. The fact that there is great sorrow makes the magic of Christmas and the joy we can experience that much greater in every possible way. Everyday is a Gift because our Heavenly Father gave us all the greatest gift possible of our Brother and Savior Jesus Christ. The strength and peace we can receive from that knowledge fills my heart and souls with great Love. I know I must seek daily to have the spiritual strength that often is found more easily during the most wonderful time of the year. May we all find and feel the impact of Gods Love for us as we come to know our Savior more.
