About the same time I started my blog, I also started posting pictures on Wunder Photos at http://www.wunderground.com/ . I have blogged about this site before. A one year membership is $10.00 and it entitles you to post your own pictures and also to rate the pictures that other people have posted. So far, I have posted over 500 pictures there, some are good and some are not so good. A panel of Approvers/Moderators have to approve any photo that you upload. They also select the very best of what they see to receive the Approvers Choice Award. This is not a real prize but simply recognization for a job well done. I think everyone who posts pictures on their site hopes to get the AC Award. Some people are really good or professional and they get lots of awards. Some, like me, are lucky to get a few. To celebrate having posted 200 blog entries here, I'm posting the pictures that have received the coveted Approvers Choice Award on Weather Underground's Wunder Photos. Getting the award inspires me to be more careful and always try to get a good shot. Some of you have seen these before, but maybe they will be new to others. I hope you will enjoy them half as much as I enjoyed making them!

This is Wiley Coyote! We saw him high up on the embankment of the road on the way to the Golden Triangle Airport on April 15, 2008. We turned back (bless Jeep's heart) and the coyote stopped and let me get 18 shots of him before we had to leave. We would beep the horn so he would look at us. He watched as we drove away.

If you followed my blog last summer, you know how much I enjoy photographing butterflies!
I must have posted a gazillion of them! For some reason the approvers chose this one.

This little 'rain frog' was plastered to the kitchen window August 24, 2008. Guess he was looking for shelter from the wind and rain we were getting from Tropical Storm Fay. When I started to turn off the kitchen light, I saw him and ran to get the camera. I was totally surprised that they thought he deserved an award! The cutest thing is his little suction-cup toes!

On October 30, 2008, we visited the very interesting Tennessee Aquarium at Chattanooga.
This was one of the most unusual and beautiful creatures we saw. It was constantly in motion.
This picture received 123 ratings, more than any I have posted.

Last Halloween we were visiting Rock City, near Chattanooga, TN. We happened upon this Fall arragement of colorful gourds and I had to snap a picture of it. I was surprised when it won an Approvers Choice award on Wunder Photos right after winning one the previous day!

This picture "At the Lake" was made on November 10, 2008, when Fall was almost over. This little lake is close to where we live. There were still some colorful trees but most were passed their peak. Mostly, I like the reflections in the mirror smooth water!

This Robin visited our yard on January 19, 2009. Looks like he is ready for Spring!
And that is all of my pictures that have received the AC Award as of now. Who knows, tomorrow I may be blessed to get another one that the Approvers will like!

Hi Dorothy, I use Weather Underground (and have it bookmarked) for my weather reports. I've looked at some of their Wunder Photos. I had no idea that you posted photos on there. I'm so proud of you. Your photos are gorgeous.

One never knows why or what people see in different photos, do we???? BUT--the photos on there are really pretty--and yours are some of the BEST...

I can't pick a fav... They are all FABULOUS.
Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Ginny,
Well, this is a coyote, but he may be a cousin to the wolf. It was very exciting to get to see and photograph him!

Mildred,
Thank you so much! I have fun making them.

Thanks, Betsy! WU is a really good site for photographers!

Shelley,
You will like WU. You can click on each picture for a larger view. It's fun to be a member and get to rate and comment on the photos. They have their own e-mail system within the program where you can write to the people and comment. Give it a try!

Best wishes on #200!! And, of course you deserve those awards. You are like a latter day Ansel Adams. All those photos are "picture perfect"!! I really love the little froggy. I didn't know those little fellows with suction toes lived outside the rain forest.
