Busy Bluebirds
Papa Bluebird flies in to take his turn at feeding the hungry baby birds.
He sits on top of the bird house and watches me watching him.
Mama Bluebird takes her turn at feeding the babies, and also takes out the garbage when she leaves. I took my camera and went out on the back porch (which, by the way, is still not screened in) to sit and enjoy the cool spring day and hopefully get some pictures. I positioned my chair so I could get a clear shot of the birds when they came to feed the babies. I sat there and long time and began to think that they may have flown away. Then I happened to glance up, and the mother bird was sitting on the wire with an insect in her beak, waiting for me to go away. I moved a little so she could not see me and she proceed to feed the babies. I hope I will get to see them when they leave the nest.

Nice Spring Day
Today started off with a loud thunder shower about 4:00 a.m. It stopped raining by daylight and turned out to be a good day. This is one of the many blooms on my sister's Tulip Poplar tree. She wanted me to make pitures of it while it was blooming. I had never seen these blooms before. They are sort of a cross between a tulip and a Magnolia and have spots of bright orange inside them.

Feeding Time
The bluebirds have hatched and are hungrily calling to be fed. They keep both of their parents busy bringing food to them. It won't be long before they will fly away.

Just Horsing Around
I was told that this is not a horse but a mule...whatever....Anyway he/she is very friendly and always wants me to pet him or give him something to eat. I love to pet his soft, velvety nose! It reminds me of growing up on the farm not two miles away from here!

Thanks for another beautiful day!
The full moon is shining through the pine trees tonight and we had hoped to get some good pictures of it but the thin clouds have it about covered up. It has been a very nice day with pleasant temperatures and lots of sunshine. When I went out to check on the possibility of a moon shot, the whip-poor-wills were calling to each other and the blue birds were feeding their babies for the last time tonight.

WILEY COYOTE
(Since I posted these picture here, this one got the Approvers Choice Award on WeatherUnderground-WunderPhotos)
On the way to take Jeff & Cheryl to Golden Triangle Airport this morning, Jeep spotted a coyote walking by the side of the other lane. We crossed the median and went back to make some pictures of him. (I just 'happened' to have the camera with me.) We stopped and made a dozen or more pictures and he just stopped and looked at us for a while. He trotted along very slowly then stopped to watch us as we drove away. It was almost as exciting as shooting the bear last fall;-)
Having the opportunity to photograph this beautiful wild creature was my Blessing of the Day. I think I would like to go on a safari!!!

Jeff's Birthday Party
When the Pepper gang get together they always pick and sing. They were pretty loud but hey, the neighbors are not very close.
Jeff requested a Chitterling supper so brother, Doug, came and not only cooked Chitterlings, but also made ice cream! We had other things to eat, for those who don't eat chitterlings, and lots of desserts. I got the word this morning that some people ate a little too much;-) There were 10 of us and enough food for twenty!

Coming in on two wings and a prayer
Back during WWII there was a popular song about some of the pilots..."We're coming in on a wing and a prayer...look below, there's a field over there...with a full crew aboard and our trust in the Lord...we're coming in on a wing and a prayer".
It was a safe landing for our son, Jeff and his wife, Cheryl, who came from Vancouver, WA on Tuesday to stay a few days. Meeting someone at the airport was a new experience for me. Who knows, I may decide to fly someday!

Iced Tea, Coffee or Lemonade?
This is one corner of our new Patio/Veranda/Porch. Speaking of Porch, just imagine how nice it would be to go ahead and screen this in? We could eat breakfast out there and enjoy being outdoors without being bothered by the insects. Whether it is ever screened in or not, we are glad to get this done and we are already enjoying it. I was sitting out there the other day and four rabbits came from the front yard and hippity hopped through the back yard going towards the woods. Of course, I didn't have my camera out there! One night as we came back from Bible study, where was a fox in the back yard. We also see deer in the front yard and see their tracks around the yard. Come by and visit and we will have some teacakes and lemonade!

Dive Bomber
This crop duster/sprayer airplane kept buzzing our house one day last week. My sisters were here visiting and one of them thought he was coming over way too low! Jeep came in and got the camera and made lots of pictures of him flying so low over our house and the trees. They were spraying the fields that are across the highway. I don't think I would like to fly and especially not that low!!

Happy HAM
Here is my Happy Hubby playing with his latest toy, a new TenTec Omni Seven HAM Radio. Getting the new radio inspired him to finally clean up his desk and replace all the bulbs in his equipment. He spends most mornings here chatting about a wide variety of topics with a circle of old friends.
