Family Pictures

My friend Nikki took some family pictures for me back in June. I kept forgetting that I had them! Finally I'm posting a few of my fav's. I really like this one except for that Carter isn't looking anywhere near the camera.

fun fun fun!!

I should first let all my blog fans (lol) that I did survive..I am still alive. My last blog entry might have concerned a few of you. :) Anyway, here's some recent photos from the Bell clan.

Last weekend we went to the Bell cabin with the peeps, (the Bradleys and Rockwoods, Moellmers couldn't make it). I actually brought my camera to the cabin, but forgot to take pictures. Good thing for Lou and Nikki who remembered. In the picture: Marshall Bradley, Carter and Calvin Rockwood. The boys went fishing and caught (and ate!!!) 3 fishies.

The last day we went swimming in the Red Creek reservoir. It was a really hot day, so the cold water felt nice. Sweet farmers tan huh?
The mighty truck can do anything, handle any terrain....except mud, lots of mud and oh water right there that we were slowly sliding into. Thanks Lou for capturing this moment for me! Good thing for the nice man that pulled us out.

A game called "banga-banga" that Carter and Mat made up the other day. To play Banga, put a balloon in your shirt and bounce off each others belly's while yelling "banga-banga". Yes, even Berklie wanted to play.

I said, "say cheese" and that is what he is doing. Funny kiddo. On the 24th we went over to the Children's parade in Tooele. Carter was a little disappointed because they didn't throw much candy. It was a silly little parade, but entertaining in it's own funny way.Berklie loves to play in the sink, so tonight I decided, why not give her a bath while she plays in the sink. She loved it. She's even eating a tomato while she plays in the water. Life doesn't get any better than that! Look at all the dirty dishes, seesh. haha

Maybe I'll feel better if I blog it...

So, I had a day today! It wasn't even really that bad, but I just can't get seem to get over it. It started with me not running (mistake #1). Then we went to Berklie's 15 month appointment in Salt Lake because I can't get over my love for Dr. Vandenburge (not real love of course, but he's been my kids doctor since he was born love). So we drive 45 minutes there and wait 15 for him to come in only to feel rushed because he was running behind and come on now, the least you can do is look at her chart and act like you know her name. After Berklie's drive by visit with the doctor, the nurse gave her 2 shots....the second shot Berklie managed to grab while it was going into her leg and it ended up giving her a 3 inch scratch on her leg!! It was totally my fault though, I was supposed to be holding her hand so that she couldn't do that. She is one strong little thing and managed to wiggle her hand free from my grasp. Not only does she have the pain from the shots themselves, but now pain from the needle cutting her leg. I guess that is what it took to get to me realize I need a new doctor, closer to home, that is the key.
For a quick second we go into Babys R Us to look at strollers. That trip ended quickly with Carter throwing a tantrum because I wouldn't buy the $5 "cup with a straw and a lid" that he couldn't live without. That is the 3rd time in the last few months that people cleared a path for me while I drug my screaming kids out of the store. Sweet!
Next we go visit Grandma Oman (who recently had hip surgery) at the Health South Rehab. We showed up during her therapy, so we went to eat some lunch in hopes that that would put Berklie in a better mood. There was no better mood, just tears and screams during the hour visit with Grandma. Hopefully Grandmas (and Grandpa's) ears are not ringing anymore.
The ride home was peaceful once Berklie and Carter fell asleep. However Carter decided that because he had a 15 minute nap in the car that he didn't need anymore.
For the remainder of the day I tried not to lose it with one tired boy and one sore screaming baby girl. It can make for a long day. I am grateful that they are both peacefully sleeping now and that we can have a new and much better day tomorrow!!
I think I feel better now, but dang I feel like a whiner. :) Oh the joys of being a momma.

I thought it was funny anyways....

Ok, so this isn't the best picture, but I couldn't stop laughing when it happened. Mat was doing a tone of yard work today and the string trimmer fell and ripped his pocket off. I was the only one laughing hysterically. Carter asked Mat, "Why did you peel your pants daddy"? There is a little bit more to the story, but I won't post that part. I'll just say, be careful when you go camando Matty.

Daily choas

Wahoo!! We have had a fun summer so far. The fourth of July was a blast. I ran a little 5K at the last minute that kicked my butt! I was more sore after it than after the marathon. Sprinting is hard. I finished and I hear I even finished 5th in my age group. I got something like 24 or 25?? minutes....(hopefully I'll get the exact time in the mail or something) next time it will be faster. Then I met up with Mat and the kids to watch the parade. It was for sure small town, but Carter had a blast catching as much candy as the big kids would allow. That night we had some friends over for a BBQ and fireworks.
A few weeks ago Aunt Melinda gave Carter her backpacking tent. He was so excited and just had to try it out that night. So he and Mat slept in the backyard. At first Mat stayed in the tent with him while he was going to sleep, but he said that Carter wouldn't stop talking to him. So, Mat came inside for a while to let Carter fall asleep. (He went out later) Carter slept later than he normally does, so maybe we'll have to let him do that more often.
Ok, so the naked pictures of Carter. Mat asked him if he wanted a bath outside. The next thing we knew he was naked. We told him he would be cold, but he said, "Spray me". So, Mat did. He didn't get as mad as I thought he would though. But, I'm pretty sure that he won't ask for a bath outside again.
Last weekend we went to a rodeo in Rush Valley with some friends. It was stinkin' fun. Everyone just pulls their trailers/trucks up to the ring and watches the show. Carter and Berklie had a great time. This is for sure something I want to do every year. Carter got to chase the "money calf", which he thought was great. He didn't even get close to the thing, which is good because as you can see from the pictures, it's not a calf. It was big! Sometimes being a chicken pays off.
Maybe the best part of this month is that we got our yard done!!! Finally, no more dirt. 40 yards of bark later, it's finished. It's so nice to sit on the back patio and enjoy it. I'll try to post some pictures.

Family Reunion

Finally I'm posting the pictures from the Meck family reunion! We had a blast! We spent 6 days up in Eden Utah at a place called Wolf Creek Resort. We all stayed in one house, 8 kids and 8 adults. So at times it was loud and crazy, but it was great! The first day we went to Pineview Reservoir and played in sand and water all day. We rented a jet ski for the day and had a picnic and of course the kids got as dirty as they could in the sand. Carter wanted to wash his hair in the sand..his cousin Austin is wondering what the heck he's doing.

Berklie couldn't get enough of the sand and water. She is our water baby! We can't keep her out of the water if it's near. She was COVERED in sand by the end of the day. There wasn't a crevice that didn't have sand in it. We were de-sanding for days after.

Mat and Berklie. This is Austin, Ella and Christopher.Abby. Ronalin on the jet ski. This thing was awesome! It was such a rush to go so fast. I couldn't get enough of it.

On Sunday the kids made t-shirts (thanks grammie weeze). They all had the best time doing it. Carter would wear his everyday if I let him. From left to right: Carter, Abby, Ella, Ryan, Austin and Christopher.

Berklie and Hannah
Grammie Weeze and Boppa took the kids on a pony ride. These were no ponies, they were huge horses. It was funny to see the little kids legs straight out to the side because the horses were so big. Carter loved his pony ride. We tried to sit Berk on a horse and she totally got freaked out. It was kinda funny.Jason and Hannah Mom and Damon
All the kids loved Uncle Mat for his Rhino. They couldn't get enough of this. Especially Christopher. He was constantly asking for a ride in Mat's jeep.

That is only a few of the pictures that I have...but I didn't want to bore you all too much. We had a really good time together. The cousins all loved being together. We did lots of swimming, the dads and kids went fishing, we ate lots of Maverick frozen yogurt and stayed up late every night. Wanna do it again next year guys? Thanks mom and dad for making this trip possible.
