RELEASE: Derickson Opposes Budget Deal

OXFORD, OHIO- Conservative State Representative and candidate for Congress in Ohio's 8th District, today announced his opposition to the two-year budget deal between the White House and GOP Congressional leaders. "I oppose this bad deal because it was made in the cover of darkness, busts previous budget caps, increases the debt limit, raises spending by $80 billion dollars and does nothing to reduce our growing $18 trillion dollar national debt. The New York Times called the deal a 'victory for Obama,' but I call it a defeat for our hardworking taxpayers."

Rep. Derickson said the budget deal also fails to defund Planned Parenthood. "The budget deal is a victory for Planned Parenthood and the culture of death because it fails to eliminate their funding. As State Representative, I voted to eliminate Planned Parenthoods funding in Ohio and we won that fight. In Congress I will promote a culture of life and vote to defund Planned Parenthood once and for all because life is a gift from God that must be protected," Derickson said.

Derickson called on his opponents in the race for Congress to take a stand on the Obama budget deal. "The voters of Ohio's 8th District know where I stand on this bad budget deal, but it's time for my opponents to make their stand known today. The voters are waiting."

RELEASE: Faber Announces Effort to Redirect Taxpayer Dollars Away from Abortion Providers

COLUMBUS - Ohio Senate President Keith Faber (R-Celina) announced today the introduction of legislation that would divert public funding away from any entity associated with performing non-therapeutic abortions in Ohio.

This legislation follows recently released videos that show officials at Planned Parenthood seeking to profit off of the sale of body parts of unborn children. The investigation, initiated by the Center for Medical Progress, displayed Planned Parenthood officials negotiating the sale of body parts from unborn babies as well as describing the process in which body parts could be harvested once a deal was agreed upon.

"The recent developments regarding Planned Parenthood are disturbing and quite frankly inexcusable," said Faber. "The practices outlined in these videos are not only reprehensible but also illegal under Ohio law, and this bill will ensure that public money is not funding such activities."

The proposed legislation would divert public funds in Ohio away from entities that:

1. Perform non-therapeutic abortions
2. Promote non-therapeutic abortions
3. Have a contract with any entity that performs or promotes non-therapeutic abortions
4. Become or continue to be an affiliate of any entity that performs or promotes non-therapeutic abortions

The state of Ohio gave $1.3 million in taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood alone in 2014. Pending passage of this legislation, this funding could be diverted to the more than 300 alternative health care providers in Ohio as well as the 50 Community Action Agencies across the state.

"It is our intention to use these public funds to provide family planning services and comprehensive healthcare to women and children in Ohio," said Faber.

The FY 2016-17 state budget sustained funding to vital women's health services such as breast and cervical cancer screenings at alternative clinics that to do not provide abortions. Currently, none of the twenty-five Planned Parenthood clinics in Ohio provide prenatal care or mammograms. According to Planned Parenthood’s Annual Report, 94% of their services to pregnant women are abortions.

Constitution Day and Life Stuff

Today is Constitution Day. In 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document. It was a great day in Philadelphia for our fledgling nation. Wise men gathered to work out some differences and agree to work together for the common interest of our country. They didn't get everything right, but they did a whole lot better than modern Americans would have; of that I am sure.

The Founding Fathers, if not Christian, were deists. They had a sense of morality and ethics that our contemporaries would benefit from. While slavery was an issue that wouldn't be resolved for nearly a hundred years, you can see the seeds planted in the Constitution for a respect for all life.

I find it curious that our governor, Preacher John K-BACON (Kasich), can quibble over life issues. He claims to be pro-life, and he takes just enough action and says just enough of the right things to make most folks believe him. He somehow finds religion invoking St. Peter in his Medicaid expansion arguments, but has instructed the legislature to put the Heartbeat Bill in a drawer. He claims to want to defund Planned Parenthood, but isn't willing to shut down the government to do so.

These positions are troubling because one has no idea what our governor actually believes. It is almost as if he is trying to play both sides of the fence out of fear of upsetting his chances on the national stage.

Our Founding Fathers were bold men with strong convictions. We could use more of that.

This Friday, Americans from across the country will visit our nation’s capital to stand up for life at the 39th annual March for Life. Their message is twofold: innocent life is a precious and unalienable right that must be preserved and Roe v. Wade should not stand.

Our Founding Fathers recognized the value of life when they signed their names beneath the famous words “we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life …”

Since the first March for Life almost 40 years ago, hundreds of thousands of Americans have come to their nation’s capital each January to stand up for this right to life for the unborn. As I have before, my staff and I look forward to visiting with marchers from Ohio.

While our nation is divided on whether or not abortion should be legal, on one point there is a growing consensus: we must all work together to reduce the number of abortions. Recent data indicates that more and more Americans agree. This is not surprising. Cutting-edge medical technology can detect a baby’s heartbeat even earlier in a pregnancy and ultrasounds are providing an increasingly advanced look into a baby’s development.

A May 2012 Gallup survey discovered that a record low 41 percent of Americans identify themselves as “pro-choice” and 50 percent now call themselves “pro-life,” one point shy of a record high. A separate Gallup poll found that America’s youth, those between the ages of 18-29, are shifting toward the pro-life position – by as much as 9 percentage points over the past 20 years.

At the same time, data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicates that the abortion rate in the United States has dropped to an all-time low. According to the latest CDC data, between 2008 and 2009 abortions dropped by 5 percent, the largest decline in the previous decade.

I am proud of my pro-life record throughout my time in public service. I have co-sponsored pro-life measures, including the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act to permanently prohibit federal funding of abortion, and the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act, which would allow a health plan to decline coverage of things like abortion that go against the religious or moral beliefs of the person or organization offering or purchasing the plan. I am also a co-sponsor of the Protect Life Act, which prohibits federal funding of abortion in the President’s health care spending law.

But there is much more to do. I am concerned about attempts to circumvent states’ laws concerning abortion for minors. Ohio and the majority of other states require parents’ involvement if their minors have an abortion. Yet, 13 states and the District of Columbia do not have such laws on the books. Minors who live in the states bordering on these outliers are often transported across state lines for abortions as a way to get around their home-state parental involvement requirements.

To clamp down on this practice, I recently introduced the Child Custody Protection Act, which would make it a federal offense to transport a minor across a state line for an abortion if it would circumvent a state law requiring parental involvement in that minor’s abortion. The parental involvement laws of states should not be undermined by crossing state lines. This bill is a good start in putting an end to this practice.

As they have since Roe v. Wade was first handed down in 1973, this year Americans from all walks of life are stepping forward to speak out for the unborn. I salute all Ohioans who are traveling from Ohio to Washington this week to stand and march. You have sacrificed time and money for something much greater than both of those things put together: the sanctity of human life. In many ways the movement has made great progress, especially through new laws and regulations at the state level. Yet there is more to do to protect the sanctity of life and to give the unborn a chance to grow up and live fruitful lives in this blessed nation.

Niehaus (He Retroactively Raised Our Taxes) Chickens Out Again

"I made a decision this week to end Senate consideration of House Bill 125. Unfortunately, certain proponents of the bill continue to bully members of my caucus into bypassing the committee process and bringing it directly to the Senate floor for a vote. This move would effectively shut down all public input and hearing on a bill that has been changed multiple times without a single hearing on its newly proposed content.

"A discharge petition to force a vote on such a controversial and potentially unconstitutional new law would completely defy the due process of the legislature. I have decided to move the bill back to the Senate Rules Committee, where it is required to sit for at least 30 days before a discharge petition can take effect.

"I respect the disappointment and appreciate the understanding of most in the pro-life community on this decision, and I will not allow the divisive tactics of a few radicals to distract from the important work we need to do in the remaining days of this General Assembly."

Did you know that essentially every time Sherrod Brown has the opportunity to vote in favor of preserving innocent human life, he chooses to do just the opposite? Indeed, throughout his far-too-many years in the House and Senate, he has invariably voted not only to uphold abortion-on-demand, but to continue using our tax dollars to pay for it.

Worse yet, he consistently votes to keep our tax dollars flowing into foreign countries to pay for abortions performed there. (Refer to House Resolutions: 4811 and 2606 -- 106th Congress; 2159, 1757, and 581 -- 105th Congress; 1561 and 1868 -- 104th Congress.)

If you doubt that Sherrod places absolutely no value on the life of the unborn, just take a look at the groups who support him. Among them: The National Abortion and “Reproductive-Rights” Action League (NARAL), Planned Parenthood’s “Women are Watching” (WAW), and the National Organization for Women (NOW).
The folks at NARAL continually give Sherrod a 100% rating. Why? Because he does everything he can to maintain the right of women to end their pregnancies (up to and throughout the ninth month of gestation) for any reason -- again, at taxpayer expense.

Here is NARAL’s statement of purpose, as quoted from the NARAL website: “NARAL Pro-Choice America uses the political process to elect lawmakers who share our pro-choice [i.e., pro-abortion] values and defeat candidates [like Sherrod’s opponent, Josh Mandel] who don’t . . . We are passionate about our work -- and we couldn’t do our job without the great people who stand with us. That’s why Fortune magazine has described . . . [us] as one of the top 10 advocacy [i.e., pro-abortion] groups in America.”

Here is just a small sample of what the NARAL-gals -- and their pal Sherrod -- have so “passionately” fought against (likewise, from the NARAL website): “Targeted Regulation on Abortion Providers,” “Restrictions on Young Women’s [minors’] Access to [out-of-state] Abortion,” “Mandatory-Ultrasound Legislation,” “Personhood Measures,” “Mandatory Parental-Involvement Laws,” the “Federal Abortion Ban,” and “The Bush Administration’s Federal Abortion Ban.”

I might add here, that as troubling as it is that Sherrod makes a habit of voting against such pro-life measures as those listed above, it is far more troubling that he voted against the “District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” less than two months ago, as well as the “Partial-Birth Abortion Ban” Acts of 1995, 1997, and 2003.

The “Pain-Capable” Act sought to eliminate abortions performed after 20 weeks, when the fetus would be capable of experiencing pain; the “Partial-Birth Abortion Ban” Acts sought to eliminate the practice of “partial-birth” abortion. Whereas the Acts of 1995 and 1997 failed to garner enough votes to become law, the Act of 2003 did garner enough votes and was signed into law that same year.
If you’re not sure precisely what Sherrod voted, time and again, not to ban, with regard to each of the partial-birth ban Acts, here are several quotes from a presentation longtime partial-birth-abortion practitioner/enthusiast, Martin Haskell, M.D., delivered at the 1992 “National Abortion Federation Risk Management Seminar,” titled, “Second Trimester D&X, 20 Wks. and Beyond”:

“ . . . The surgical assistant places an ultrasound probe on the patient’s [mother’s] abdomen and scans the fetus” so the “surgeon” can visualize the fetus’ “lower extremities.” Then, the “surgeon introduces . . . large grasping forcep[s] . . . into the corpus of the uterus.” Using the ultrasound image as his guide . . . the surgeon “moves the tip of the . . . [forceps] carefully toward the fetal lower extremities. When the . . . [forceps] appear . . . on the sonogram screen the surgeon “open[s] and close[s] . . . [the forceps’] jaws” to “firmly and reliably grasp a lower extremity. The surgeon then applies firm traction to the . . . forceps . . . and pulls the extremity into the vagina . . . With a lower extremity in the vagina, the surgeon uses his fingers to deliver the opposite lower extremity, then the torso, then the shoulders and upper extremities,” until the “skull lodges at the internal cervix os [opening] . . . At this point, the . . . surgeon slides the fingers of . . . [his] left hand along the back of the fetus and ‘hooks’ the shoulders of the fetus with the index and ring finger (palm down).” Subsequently, the “surgeon takes a pair of blunt-curved Metzenbaum scissors . . . forces the scissors into the base of the skull . . . having safely entered the skull, he spreads the scissors to enlarge the opening.” Then “the surgeon removes the scissors and introduces a suction catheter into this hole” to “evacuate . . . the skull contents.” Finally, the surgeon “applies traction to the fetus, removing it completely from the patient [mother].”

Keeping that in mind, let’s take a peek at what the activists at “WAW” have to say about Sherrod (quoted from the WAW website): “With nearly 40 years of public service, Sherrod Brown has amassed a decades-long record of advancing women’s health care [i.e., women’s access to taxpayer-funded abortion]. He votes consistently on the side of women, young adults, and families . . . Now Sherrod Brown is up for re-election and needs your help to keep his job . . . He always strongly supports Title X, the nation’s family planning [taxpayer-funded abortion] program, and has stood strong to protect Planned Parenthood health centers’ ability to provide health care [i.e., taxpayer-funded abortion] through federal [i.e., tax-payer-funded] programs . . . Ohio will again be a key battleground state in the 2012 election. It’s critical that Sherrod’s allies on the ground show their support for the candidate who fights for our health and security [i.e., our taxpayer-funded access to abortion].”

Finally, no pro-abortion candidate’s arsenal of endorsements would be complete without the endorsement of NOW. According to NOW’s website, that endorsement means that Sherrod “fully supports [providing] access to safe and legal [taxpayer-funded] abortion . . . effective [taxpayer-funded] birth control and [taxpayer-funded] emergency contraception.” Put another way, it means that he “oppose[s] attempts to restrict these rights through legislation, regulation or Constitutional amendment.”
My fellow-conservatives, we are not in the minority in this country, as evidenced by our massive turnout on “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day,” several weeks ago. So let’s stand together and repeat that type of turnout on November 6. Yes, let’s lead Sherrod’s opponent, 100% pro-life Josh Mandel, to a landslide, no-holds-barred, victory -- the likes of which Ohio has never seen.

How can we claim to truly support family values if we choose to do anything else?

Obama FAILS on Contraception Mandate

A significant majority – 57 percent -- of Americans believe religiously-affiliated employers such as universities or hospitals should be able to opt out of the Obama administration’s mandate to cover the cost of contraception, abortifacients, and sterilization for female employees, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll released Tuesday.

Fifty-one percent believe all employers should be able to opt out.

The New York Times/CBS News poll's questions were not exactly accurate because they only mentioned "birth control" in describing the mandate. They did not mention that the mandate also requires coverage for sterilizations and drugs that induce abortions.

Question 73 of the poll asks: “Do you think health insurance plans for all employees [sic] should have to cover the full cost of birth control for their female employees, or should employers be allowed to opt out of covering that based on religious or moral objections?”

Fifty-one percent said yes to this question and only 40 percent said employers should be required cover birth control. The remaining 8 percent responded either “don’t know” or “depends.”

Question 74 asked: “What about for religiously affiliated employers, such as a hospital or university? Do you think their health insurance plans for all employees should have to cover the full cost of birth control for their female employees, or should they be allowed to opt out of covering that based on religious or moral objections?

Here, 57 percent said religiously-affiliated employers such as a hospital or university should be able to opt out. Only 36 percent said these institutions should be required to cover birth control. The remaining 7 percent either didn’t know or said it depends.

President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats have sought to take political advantage of the controversy over whether HHS should force people--particularly Catholics--to act against their faith in purchasing or providing insurance coverage for sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives including those that cause abortions. Democrats and the administration have tried to frame the issue as a question of conservatives and Catholic bishops waging a war on women.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have said the regulation, which would force Catholics to act against the teachings of their faith, is an "unprecedented attack" on religious liberty. Many American Catholic bishops have addressed letters to the Catholics in their dioceses, saying: "We cannot--we will not--comply with this unjust law."

Somewhere, Rush Limbaugh is laughing....and so am I....

Schmidt Earns Endorsement of Ohio Right to Life PAC

Brad Wenstrup says he is the true pro life conservative. Yet, he gave taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood, an organization accused of covering up child rape. Not very conservative, pro life, or pro family to me. But, Congresswoman Jean Schmidt has shown and earned high scores on these issues as well as endorsements. Ohio Right to Life PAC has endorsed Jean Schmidt:

Congresswoman Jean Schmidt has been endorsed in the March 6 Republican primary election by the Ohio Right to Life Political Action Committee.

"The 2012 congressional elections will determine the pro-life balance of power in Washington D.C.," Mike Gonidakis said on behalf of the Ohio Right to Life PAC. "As pro-life Ohioans, it is our responsibility to support these endorsed candidates. Too many pro-life initiatives have been stalled by our pro-abortion president. ... We are asking all Ohioans to consider the unique opportunity we have before us to transform our federal government in order to place women's health and the lives of their unborn children as a top priority."

Congresswoman Schmidt, a Clermont County Republican who represents Ohio's Second District, was endorsed earlier this month by the Cincinnati Right to Life PAC, which also is dedicated to ending abortion.

Hmmmm.....COAST used to agree with Cincinnati Right to Life opposing funding to Planned Parenthood in the amount of $26,000...before their boy Brad Wenstrup "supposed pro life solid conservative" voted to give Planned Parenthood $80,000+. Unlike COAST, Cinnnati Right to Life PAC stayed true to its Pro Life values, choosing principle over convenience:

Congresswoman Jean Schmidt has been endorsed in the March 6 Republican primary election by the Cincinnati Right to Life Political Action Committee, which is dedicated to ending abortion and preventing euthanasia.

The endorsement "is a vote of confidence in your commitment to protect innocent human beings from conception to natural death through legislation and personal action," Jack Hart, president of the organization, wrote in a Jan. 18 letter to Congresswoman Schmidt. Brad Wenstrup--Poor Steward of Public Money--Grant Revoked

The Foot doctor who saved the world claims he can do better managing public funds than Jean Schmidt. He claims he is a true fiscal conservative. However, as we have documented, he has given money as a member of the Cincinnati Board of Health to planned parenthood and giving money to Vic Wulsin to give contraception to young kids. I have said this is mismanagement. Well, it appears I am not alone. The state has revoked a grant from the city and board of health that they had been receiving for 30 YEARS. The cause? Poor management and stewardship and oversight.

Let's get this straight. Last year, foot doctor Brad Wenstrup decided it would be a good idea for the Cincinnati Health Board to use taxpayer money to fund the nation's largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood. So, as a member of the city board, he votes to give $85,000 in taxpayer money to help keep Planned Parenthood's lights on (http://massdiscussion.blogspot.com/2011/11/dr-wenstrup-has-funny-way-of-being-pro.html).

Apparently, the state of Ohio has concerns about some of the things going on with the board, which Brad joined in 2010.

"State yanks STD grant, says city 'poor' steward"

State officials said the city was such a “poor” steward of the funds "there is not a way I could justify using taxpayer dollars to put money back in to the hands of the Cincinnati Health Department to do these programs," said William McHugh, the Ohio Department of Health's division of prevention chief.

"It's gotten so bad in the last few years we had no choice but to find a new partner to address the problem," McHugh said." For 30 years, Cincinnati has received this grant for hundreds of thousands of dollars, but under Brad's watch over the last couple years, the state of Ohio felt the need to step in and cut off funding – to protect Ohio 's taxpayers.

Say, Brad, isn't that … your job?

Apparently, Brad is too busy running for other offices to get his stories or his stewardship straight. The guy is full of obfuscation and misdirection.

Next time you have a city Board of Health meeting, you might want to check those alleged "conservative credentials" at the door.

Mismanagement and lack of oversight are nothing new to Brad. He didn't check his source calling Schmidt a corrupt member of Congress. It was a George Soros front group. My google search took 30 seconds. 30 seconds. He also LIED about discussing his pro life issues with me over the phone. It never took place. He said he was going to call me back because I was busy when he called but HE NEVER DID. The man can't keep his stories straight. His timeline regarding his excuses for funding planned parenthood just don't pan out either. And yet he claims he would be a voice of integrity and a solid conservative. Don't buy it.

Ohio Right to Life PAC Endorses State Candidates

Niehaus Punts on Heartbeat Bill

(Columbus) - Ohio Senate President Tom Niehaus issued the following statement today regarding House Bill 125, also known as the Heartbeat Bill:

"Supporters of the bill delivered more than 20 amendments on Wednesday, asking us to make changes after months of deliberation in both the House and Senate. These eleventh hour revisions only serve to create more uncertainty about a very contentious issue. We've now heard hours of testimony that indicate a sharp disagreement within the pro-life community over the direction of this bill, and I believe our members need additional time to weigh the arguments. Therefore, I have asked the committee chairman to suspend hearings on the bill so we can consider the new amendments and determine the best course of action.

Let me be clear that our majority caucus is staunchly pro-life, and we will take every responsible step to advance the protection of unborn children. We've already accomplished more this year in defense of life than any previous General Assembly in the history of the state. But we cannot move forward on a bill that has so far created more confusion than consensus.

It's my hope that the interested parties can use this time to resolve their differences and produce a reasonable compromise."

Supposed Pro Life Conservative Brad Wenstrup Approves of Giving Kids Birth Control Without Parental Consent

Oh No, Brad Wenstrup is at it again. Brad seconded the motion for the city health board to approve nearly $800,000 in taxpayer money to fund free birth control for children - and parental consent is not needed. Guess who is in charge of the program? None other than our old friend Dr. Victoria (I support a woman’s right to control her own body) Wulsin.

You know, Dr. Victoria "I want to inject AIDs Patients with malaria" Wulsin. The same Vic Wulsin who was so radical she had to be beaten back twice by real conservatives. Apparently, Brad Wenstrup thinks her logic is flawless. He seconded the motion to give money for free birth control for children...without parental consent. This guy just loves him some baby killin' planned parenthood....That doesn't seem pro life to me, does it you? And remember, he uses George Soros groups to attack Jean Schmidt. Doesn't sound conservative to me....Sounds more like Paul Hackett...remember that clown?

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Access to free birth control is now a reality for women in Cincinnati.
A new reproductive health grant will test the waters of how well this will help low-income women meet certain health needs.
But it's also a move that's generating some controversy. The grant focuses on all areas of women's health, not just birth control. The free birth control is just one component.
It started in July and can be renewed for up to four more years after this year.
At Monday night's town hall meeting with Congressman Steve Chabot, there were plenty of people wearing pink t-shirts saying, "Stand-Up For Planned Parenthood," a group very much "pro" women's health rights.
A gentleman got up and made a statement about a potential link between the birth control pill and breast cancer and that generated a lot of boos.
"Contraception, the birth control pill, will now be offered free to everybody who wants it," said the gentleman who got up and spoke at the town hall meeting. "It's a known carcinogen."
The man claimed the pill was responsible for increasing the risk of breast cancer by 42 percent.
Dr. Elizabeth Kelly with the Cincinnati Health Department says that has not been proven.
"With the formulations we're using now, there's absolutely no link with breast cancer and it's been widely studied," she said.
Dr. Kelly is the Medical Director of the Division of Maternal and Infant Health, for the City's Health Department.
"We started out with some higher-dose pills, 50 micro-grams of estrogen," said Dr. Kelly. "Now, we're down to lower doses of 20."
Dr. Kelly said there is some speculated association with breast cancer, with the old higher-dose formulas, but those are no longer used.
She is excited about the reproductive health grant, because it focuses on the wellness of all reproductive-age women, not just teens, with screenings for cervical cancer, gynecological care, testing for STD's, counseling and contraception education, immunizations and free birth control.
"We see adolescents, and children age 11, 12, having intercourse and then we see pregnancies in women, adolescents, sometimes a little bit older, 13, 14, 15," said Dr. Kelly.
And with this new, nearly $800,000 reproductive health grant, parental consent is not needed, but strongly advised.
"Why should everyone in this room pay?" asked the man, of Congressman Steve Chabot.
Dr. Kelly said it's vital in a city with a staggering infant mortality rate and strong risk factors.
"Which is teen pregnancy, closely-spaced pregnancy, and unintended pregnancy," said Dr. Kelly.
Their goal is to help women plan for good reproductive health.
"So they can make decisions about employment, about spacing of pregnancy, about timing of pregnancy, about education, and about the economic reality of raising children," she said.
Right now, Dr. Kelly, Dr. Noble Maseru and Dr. Victoria Wulsin, who is the primary investigator on this project, are finalizing their collaboration.

Sources at the Board of Health confirm Wenstrup 2nded the motion to give money for this....

Don't vote for a liberal in conservative wrapping papaer who sucks up and fools tea party groups and COAST. Vote for someone who, while not perfect (no one is), is rated the 6th most conservative person in Congress, Jean Schmidt.

Mr. Wenstrup has a problem with figuring out what a conservative is, and what pro life is. Wonder what else he isn't sure about....

This is a reallocation of funds from Stop AIDS, which was defunded by the state after an independent audit, for Planned Parenthood to use for HIV/AIDS testing and prevention. Stop AIDS counselors will work for Planned Parenthood.



Though no government funding is to be used for abortion, funds to Planned Parenthood for any reason frees funds for other programs. (Note: Congress and some states are investigating Planned Parenthood because of this plus other concerns, such as increasing evidence of ignoring suspected statutory rape of minor girls seeking abortions, as well as covering for sex traffickers; evidence and confirmation in some states of Medicaid fraud, and more.)



Significantly, both Planned Parenthood and Stop AIDS support and do not discourage the sexual practices that give rise to the terrible disease of AIDS. This funding simply applies a bandaid to a gaping wound.

So, is Doc Wenstrup going to say Greater Cincinnati Right to Life is not really pro life? The good doctor needs to go back to school. He couldn't even beat Mark Mallory for Mayor. Now, he wants to misrepresent the record and claim he is a pro life conservative when this vote and his use of George Soros attack dogs shows he is not conservative or a follower of the 11th commandment. He is not worthy of endorsement.....

Rep. Schmidt praised for perfect voting record on pro-family issues

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt has been named a “True Blue Member” of Congress for her perfect voting record in favor of pro-family and pro-life issues.
Representative Schmidt scored 100 percent on recorded votes in the first session of the 112th Congress, according to Family Research Council Action and CitizenLink. She was one of only 54 of the 435 House members to receive a perfect score. Of the 18 House members from Ohio, Congresswoman Schmidt was one of just four to score 100 percent.
Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council Action, commended Congresswoman Schmidt and the other True Blue Members for voting “consistently to defend faith, family and freedom.”
"I applaud their commitment to uphold the institutions of marriage and family," Perkins said. Congresswoman Schmidt has “voted to repeal Obamacare, defund Planned Parenthood, end government funding for abortion within the health care law, (and) uphold the Defense of Marriage Act.”
Congresswoman Schmidt, a Republican from Miami Township, said she was honored to be recognized for her stalwart support of issues important to families throughout Southern Ohio.
“I’m proud to represent the values of people who live in the Second Congressional District, and I will not waiver in my commitment to them,” Congresswoman Schmidt said.

Again, how can someone who gets a 100% voting record on life issues not be pro life, but someone who voted to give a grant to an organization that covered up child rape and kills babies call themselves pro life? Wenstrup is not telling the truth, or he is deluded, or he is just another Schmidt hater. Whichever, not deserving of the office or ANY endorsements!

COAST Chooses Vendetta over Its Own Principles...

But then again, don't they always? What am I talking about? The primary battle between incumbent US Congresswoman of the 2nd District Jean Schmidt, versus her abortion supporting but yet proclaimed pro-life challenger "Dr." Brad Wenstrup. COAST hates Jean Schmidt because she is a woman and they so wanted Tom Brinkman in the US Congress. COAST supposedly stands against wasteful spending by governments and government agencies. By this very nature, they should oppose Dr. Wenstrup. To wit:

The Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending and Taxes criticized “liberal democrats” on the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners who voted to approve $26,000 in funding to Planned Parenthood in 2008.
The “policy of funding the abortion provider (is) a misuse of tax funds,” COAST said.

So what does COAST think about the $85,000 in taxpayer money that Dr. Brad Wenstrup and the rest of the Cincinnati Health Board recently gave to the same Planned Parenthood?:

Wenstrup’s board specified that the tax money is to be used “strictly for HIV/AIDS testing and prevention.”

Can you say cop out, boys and girls? I thought you could. COAST just hates Jean Schmidt, they don't care about funding. They just want somebody to take her down.

Planned Parenthood said the tax money also will go for outreach to what it called the “men who have sex with men” population – including those in local jails.
Does that make it less of “misuse of tax funds”?


COAST has shown time and again that except when it comes to defeating school levies, they don't much care about their principles, especially if it means getting rid of their hated enemy Jean Schmidt. Yes, the very same Jean Schmidt who knows that supporting Planned Parenthood with tax dollars is not pro life. The same Jean Schmidt rated the 6th most conservative member of the entire US House! Somehow Dr. Wenstrup thinks supporting an institution that covers up Child Rape as Planned Parenthood sought to do (previously reported on WMD) is being pro life!


We all know that a taxpayer dollar into Planned Parenthood's front pocket allows for a dollar out of their back pocket to fund another abortion. Evidently, the good doctor Wenstrup does not...or he doesn't care....AND NEITHER DOES COAST.

Jean Schmidt may not be perfect, but she has worked hard to serve the people of her district and at least she seems to understand what the meaning of pro life is.

Does Brad Wenstrup Support Covering Up Child Rape?

According to his votes to fund Planned Parenthood as a member of the Cincinnati Board of Health, the answer is YES. WMD previously reported on Dr. Wenstrup voting with the rest of the board unanimously to fund Planned Parenthood, even in the face of very serious charges. From Lifenews:

The members of the Board of Health present at the time of the meeting approving the funding were Joyce Kinley, Dr. Jeff Lange, Dr. Wael Safi, Dr. Richard Schwen, Dr. Donna Shambley-Ebron and Dr. Brad Wenstrup.

In April, a lawsuit in which Planned Parenthood was recently found to have violated an Ohio informed consent law has been “resolved and dismissed,” according to the Alliance Defense Fund allied attorney who filed the suit.

ADF-allied attorney Brian Hurley represents the parents of a girl who, at age 14, was brought to a Planned Parenthood clinic for an abortion by the 22-year-old soccer coach who impregnated her.

“The health and safety of young girls is far more important than Planned Parenthood’s desire to make money on an abortion,” said ADF Senior Counsel Steven H. Aden. “This lawsuit was yet another clear demonstration of Planned Parenthood’s ongoing effort to put its profit margin ahead of the true needs of young women. If they truly cared about the girls who enter their doors, they would not be ignoring Ohio law and allowing statutory rape to occur so they can make money killing a baby. They also wouldn’t be trying so desperately to keep all of their records secret.”

In December 2010, the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas determined that Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio Region violated state law when it failed to meet with the 14-year-old girl at least 24 hours prior to giving her the abortion. Following this, a psychologist found that the abortion had caused her to suffer significant psychological harm, including post-traumatic stress disorder. The case was “resolved and dismissed” shortly thereafter.

Hurley, one of more than 2,000 attorneys in the ADF alliance, filed the suit Roe v. Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio Region on behalf of the girl’s parents when they discovered that Planned Parenthood allowed her to undergo the abortion at the behest of her soccer coach.

Neither Planned Parenthood nor the soccer coach notified the parents of the abortion or the sexual relationship. Planned Parenthood also did not notify civil authorities, which is required in cases of statutory rape. The soccer coach was convicted of sexual battery and served three years in prison.

So, let me get this straight...This "doctor" who claims to be pro life and is running against incumbent Jean Schmidt, who actually is pro life, by the way; voted to give money to an organization that openly violated the law...Hmmm....guess he really shouldn't be running on the GOP ticket. That sounds like something the Dems would do. Of course, this "doctor" couldn't even beat the pathetic Mark Mallory for Cincinnati mayor....

However, this is disgusting. All of the doctors on this board are saying OK to an organization that harbored and hid child rape. Disgusting!

This guy A)couldn't beat a guy who can't throw a baseball to home plate and was a national joke, and B) for being a doctor, does not seem to understand what pro life means and C)voted to give more money to an organization that covered up child rape.

Does this sound like someone you want representing you in Congress, citizens of the 2nd district?
