I Believe

I believe in Santa Claus.

He brings me presents every year. Yep. Under the tree, there are gifts for me..."To Dixie, From Santa". He knows just what to get for me. The perfect size. The perfect color. Always something to wear on Christmas day. (All girls need a new outfit for Christmas day!!)

I wonder what Santa will bring this year...

The Bruhthee

I have two brothers. I call them both "The Bruhthee". I usually say it with a high pitched little kid voice and drag out the eeeee. It sounds better that way :-) I love my brothers. I'm glad they don't mind me calling them by something other than their given names of Jared and Ricky.

Today, "The Bruhthee" I am talking about is Jared.

You see, he just got married a few weeks ago. Yup. It took him 26 years, but he finally found the perfect girl for him! They got married in San Diego at the LDS temple there. It was beautiful! They are both from Utah, but wanted to get married in San Diego, so they did. The ceremony was beautiful and it was special to be a part of it. The weather didn't really want to cooperate. It poured rain most of the day. There was about an hour and a half where the sun tried to come out and there were no rain drops, but that when when we were all waiting for Rachael to come out of the brides room. Rachael has many talents, and making people wait is surely one of them. It was fine though, it gave us a chance to scope out the temple grounds, get the camera gear ready and take some practice shots. The raindrops were more like mist once she made it outside so we were still able to get some pictures.

I am so happy for the two of them and wish them the very best!! There is nothing like finding the one you want to spend this life and eternity with. We don't know how long Jared will be with us, but I'm so glad he found someone that will be with him in this life and in the next! I love you Jared! Congratulations!!

Halloween

Thanks to my cute Mom, McKay and I had matching costumes this year!

Both McKay and I have to dress up for Halloween for work. At Horsley Orthodontics, we always have a theme. This year's theme was "Peter Pan".

We had all the major characters...Mermaids, an alligator, Mr. Smee, Tinkerbell, Hook, Tiger Lilly, Wendy, Michael and John Darling, Neverland Fairies, and the Indian Chief. It was actually pretty cute. When our patients came to the office we had them "Walk the Plank". The plank was just a board we put on the floor, we had them look through the binoculars, and try not to fall off. If they reached the other side successfully, they were given pixie sticks. I walked around as Tinkerbell and gave all the patients "Pixie Dust" stars on their cheeks (glitter). The kids loved it!

And yes, we worked on patients in our costumes. The killer about the costumes was that we wore them for a solid week!!

Because I already had to be Tinkerbell for my work, we decided to make a couples costume and have McKay be Captain Hook. So cute for an Elementary School Principal, don't you think?! The only bummer? He couldn't have a hook (because it is considered a weapon), so he wore the alligator on his hand instead. So cute! I love it!

Halloween.

McKay doesn't love it. Can you blame him? He's an educator. When he was teaching it was a problem because the students were on sugar overload and as the teacher, it was a complete waste of a day where education doesn't happen. Now that he is a school principal, he is in charge of the Halloween parade, the students are still on sugar overload and there still isn't much time for education.

Needless to say, when we went to a Halloween costume party and his costume wasn't quite ready, he was happy as a clam to hold a jar of "Peter Pan Peanut Butter" while I dressed like Tinkerbell.

We did not win the costume contest.

New Additions...His and Hers

I haven't blogged much this summer or fall. I'll blame it on the new additions to the Robinson household.

We took these photos (with our point-and-shoot camera so ignore the quality of the pics) when we rode the Alpine Loop in Utah County. The leaves were amazing! The climb was killer.

We climbed 3975 vertical feet. We rode 50 miles. We burned 2921 calories. Or so.

The ride was amazing! The bikes are worth their hefty price tag! :)

Dashin' Stashes

Its no secret. I enjoy running. Its also no secret that I'm kind of a "girlie girl". I don't enjoy getting dirty, but I actually had a lot of fun last weekend when I ran the "Dirty Dash" (a 10k) with a group of friends. Our team name was The Dashin' Stashes. Yup. We wore mustaches the entire race.

I'm not sure why more Men don't grow a mustache. (Besides the fact that they look creepy of course...) It was a little cool that morning, so as our noses wanted to drip, I had a built in catcher! Who knew it would be so handy!?

I'm so glad I had Heather there to help me through it. It was harder than it looks! I gladly donated my shoes to charity after the race was over!

National Geographic Here I Come (LOL)

Last month McKay and I spent a few days in Montana at beautiful Flathead Lake. We expected it to be beautiful, but weren't prepared for this...

We saw a bird sitting in a nest. Cool. Right?

Not nearly as cool as seeing hungry babies sitting in a nest!!

My heart was racing! Lucky for me I had the camera and didn't panic under pressure. Normally under pressure, I freeze. I stare. And I forget to take the blasted picture.

Fairy Hunt!

Did you know that Mid-Summer Nights Eve is the best time to spot fairies? I wanted my nieces to have a chance to see the fairies that hang out at my house so I organized a little "Fairy Hunt" a few weeks ago.

Our "Hunt" consisted of: sweet treats (cupcakes and cookies) to attract the fairies with our crumbs, fairy names for each of us, a Queen Fairy (we each took turns), fairy dust, a fairy circle (where we dropped our fairy dust and made a wish), magnifying glasses, fairy slippers, games, a sleepover, an enchanted fairy door, a fairy dress (hung by our enchanted door for the fairies to come inside, try on the dress and drop their good dreams over us while we slept, and flower pancakes in the morning. Oh, and of course there were pictures.

We had such a fun time! The girls each took home their little fairy finds and have their group photos with the fairy in it to surprise them with. What a fun little party! I can't wait for next year!

Ragnar

Okay, so I'm a little after-the-fact getting this post on the blog, but June was a little...well...hectic. Anyhow, here it is.

Ragnar. We did it again. Why? Well, its fun. Sometimes ;) What could be more fun than running 188 miles from Logan to Park City with a team of 12 people?

These are our "Van Mates". Our team name was "Innies and Outies". We were sponsored this year by Lifetouch (they do school photos). Most of the runners on our team were School Principals or District office employees. I'm just glad they let me join in the fun! Its much more fun for me when McKay is there too!

There is nothing like a cool bottle of water on a hot mid-morning run! I was Runner #1 for our team. I actually liked being the first runner. The first runner has the longest distances, but I didn't mind. I'd rather run further than run on a dusty dirt road in 90 degrees!

Doesn't this look fun? McKay was runner #4. I think he had the best legs of all. (The legs he uses to run with and the legs of the race he ran! :) If you are a first-timer or haven't trained for long distances, go for runner #4.

Oasis of the Seas

Happy 10-year anniversary to us! We spent a week in the Caribbean on the largest Cruise ship ever built! Wow! (Thanks to Photoshop, I merged 3 photos together to make this panorama. Cool!)

We visited Atlantis, and were able to get really close to Sting Rays!

We found some little creatures along the way. They pretty much begged us to take their picture. Check out their poses! I swear I did not put any lipstick on them before I took their picture.

This is the world famous "Trunk Beach" on St. John. The sand was like flour. The water was 85 degrees. We were in heaven!
