This Weeks Happenings

Some Happening From The Past Week:

1.) This past weekend my wonderful sister Rachel and her husband Brad came for a quick visit. They rode up here from Nevada on their motorcycle along with Brad's mom and her husband. It was good to see them. They are supposed to be coming up for Halloween weekend and they are bringing the kids, so that will be way fun. :)

2.) One of the things that my mom grew in her garden this year were pumpkins. So on Saturday, Cameron & Makayla came over and picked some out. Cameron loved it. Makayla was more excited about the apple she was eating that we picked from the apple tree. :)

Cameron picked out his favorite!

My mom (Gramma) and Moo Moo eating her apple. Yum!
Moo Moo still too busy with her apple to care about the pumpkin in front of her. ;)
3.) For 6 hours last week and 6 hours this week, I've been at the courthouse for training. I'm part of Youth Court and I'm so excited about it! (Youth Court is for 1st time offenders, mainly dealing with tickets for minor in consumption of alcohol or minor in possession of tobacco. Everyone in court is made up of youth except for the judge.) Since someday I want to be an attorney, I thought this would be a great opportunity to gain some experience and learn more about the court system. So far, we've learned about the jobs as a juror, baliff and clerk. Holy cow! Those jobs are alot harder then the look on t.v. I never knew how much stuff these people acutally have to do. Tomorrow, we get sworn in by a judge and then we'll have another 2 hours of training from some local attorneys. We'll learn how to write opening & closing statements, how to question a witness, and how to basically present yourself. When your acting as the attorney for Youth Court, you're pretty much on your own. You have to come up with all your own questions and everything. It's kinda scary but I think it will be fun. Hopefully it will give me an idea if this is something that I really want to be doing for the rest of my life.

My Biker Parents :o)

Yesterday my parents woke me up and I thought it was going to be a normal Saturday. But it wasn't. They woke me up to tell me they were leaving. They left me home all alone to go on a motorcycle ride! They joined a Biker club a few months ago and they were all going on a ride. So they threw on their leathers, gloves, and helmets and hit the road. Here's a few pictures of my biker mama and a video of them hitting the road.

My Grandpa

These past few days I have been thinking alot. You never know how long people are going to be around. I wanted to dedicate this post to my Grandpa, Dan Milich. He is such a remarkable man with great wisdom, a Santa belly that I love to wrap my arms around, a big laugh and a warm heart of gold.
Here is a list of just a few things about my Grandpa.

1.) He is so kind to everyone he meets and he loves everyone, especially his family.
2.) He hopes the best for each one of his family members.
3.)He only speaks of the good and happy times, no matter what troubles he's going through.
4.) He is a great fisherman and loves to take the boat out.
5.) He is always full of fun stories about his childhood and his life.
6.) He gives such good advice.
7.) He has a strong testimony of the gospel & loves it with all his heart.
8.) He loves and adores his sweetheart, Grannie B.
9.) He loves to go get a "licker." (ice cream cone!)
10.) He also loves to go get a hamburger.
11.) He gives the best hugs.
12.) He always seems to know all the answers to anything.
13.) He loves to watch Western movies.

After thinking about things these past few days and deciding to write this post, I thought about how to express my feelings for grandpa. I'm not very good with words but I can always relate to what other people say. So I found the following 2 poems that I think just about do it.

A Poem for My Grandpa (Author Unknown)

My Grandpa, you are so special to me,
You teach me to be happy and free.
I love spending our fun days together,
We always find a new adventure.
You don’t mind answering my questions “Why?”,
You pick me up and carry me high.
My Grandpa, you take the time to teach,
And let me see things above my reach.
With you, I always feel safe and secure,
I’ll love you forever, ever more.
We say goodbye with a hug and kiss,
As I make a big, big special wish…
My wish for you, Grandpa, please, please don’t go.
Why? Because I love, love, love you so….

Grandpa (Author Unknown)

You always have the time to listen, when everyone else is busy.
Your wisdom seems to put my mind at ease.
You know what I'm going through because you've been there before.
I love the talks and stories of the places you've been and things you've seen.
You make me slow down and see the world for what it really is.
When I remember my childhood, I think of you.
This is my chance to tell you how much I love you.

Grandpa being a Pirate! Arrrgg!

Grandpa, thank you for always being there for me and having such great advice. You are a loving man with a big heart. You'll always be my Grandpa and I'll love you forever.

Homecoming 2009

Yesterday I went to Kuna's homecoming and it was SO much fun. The guy I went with is really cool, his name is Kameron. He is such goofy kid but he's hilarious and way nice. He came and picked me up at 4pm, we took pictures at my house and then went to show Grandpa and Grannie B. Then we went to Kameron's house to take pictures. After that we went and met up with the rest of our group to take more pictures! Everyone was so tired of smiling and posing. There were 16 people in our group, which was really big but it was tons of fun.
We went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, it was so good. I had a double cheeseburger, it's called Tons Of Fun Burger. It has double everything, so it was double delicious! :) Then we had strawberry cheesecake and that was really yummy too.
After dinner, we went to the dance and had our pictures taken and then spent the rest of the night dancing. It was so hot since there were so many people in the same area but it was fun. After the dance we went to one of the guys house to hang out and then I came home. Overall it was probably the funnest date I've been on. :)
Here are some pictures that we took at my house before leaving. I don't have the group pictures yet but I'll post them as soon as I do.

Weekend In Utah

This past weekend my parents and I took a trip to Utah. One of our old Bishop's (that now lives in Arizona) mom lives here in Nampa. Well the Bishop's son Anthony is getting ready to go into the MTC next month and he was going through the temple this weekend. They wanted his grandma to be there so we took Mama Galvez to Utah so she could be there for that and then we spent the rest of the weekend in Salt Lake. We drove around to different motorcycle shops and to jeep dealerships just looking around. Well.... sadly... my dad's and my own dreams were crushed as my mom told us that we couldn't buy either of those things. :( We were so depressed! We met up with Brandon and had lunch with him, it was fun to spend a little bit of time with him. We also spent quite a bit of time shopping for a Homecoming dress (which is on Saturday!). Overall it was a fun trip and it was good to spend some carefree time with my parents.

Labor Day Weekend

I had forgotten to put these pictures up from a few weeks ago. Over Labor day weekend, we went to Cascade and spent some time enjoying nature with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Julie, Jared, Teri and little Gracie Bug. It was alot of fun. We ate and ate and we took the jeep and went to the mountains to get dirty!

MUST SEE!

Courtney and Nate came to our house for dinner and FHE tonight. We ate some delicious taco's and then my dad gave a great lesson. For a fun activity we got to make certificates for the person to the right of you. Well my mom remembered a funny time and made a certificate for Courtney for having the "Best Walrus Impression." Nate had never heard this story before so I videoed Court explaining the walrus and then acting it out! Courtney--I know your probably wanting to kill me right now, but I just couldn't help myself! Love you. Hope everyone enjoys it. :D

Test and Papers Already?!

Well, it's official. I am now a senior and I can't wait for this year to be over! Today was my 5th day of school and I've already taken a test in Accounting (I can't complain too much because I got 100%!) and written a 5 page paper in English. :/ I even had homework on the first day of school. What is up with that?! Any adult I talk to tells me that it's only going to get worse when I go to college. I'm sure it is since I'll be there for at least 8 years. I haven't decided where I'm going to college yet but I know what I want to do. I am going to get my bachelors (4 years) degree in business management. Then I'm going to try very hard to get into Law school so I can end up working as a Prosecuting Attorney. I know it's going to be tough, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Other than school, I haven't been up to much lately. I had to work at the fair this past weekend. My favorite teacher at school asked me if I would work at a scone booth her brother owns. I worked at the 4th of July in Melba, so I knew how to do things which was good because we were swamped. It was a 5 hour shift but it was after dinner time so everyone was wanting dessert! It was fun though, I worked with my friends and then afterwards we went and rode rides and just hung out. I also went and watched the hypnotist. For those of you planning to go to the fair before it's done, you MUST see him. His name is Tyzen and his show is hilarious. :] I definitely recommend it.

Girls Camp 2009

This past Tuesday I pack my bags, snatched my sleeping bag and camp chair and headed to Stake Girls Camp. I don't think I have ever had so much fun at a girls camp before! On the ride up there, I sat next to a girl I've never met and by the time we made it to camp, we were inseperable! She lives in Kuna and we have some of the same friends, so we were surprised we had never met before. We had so much fun, ALOT of those pee-your-pants laughing moments! :)

Our stake leaders planned some amazing activities for us. We had alot of fun, but we also had some pretty amazing spiritual moments as well. We went White Water Rafter and to the Star Light Mountain Theater. We played games and ate, ate, ate, ate, and ate!! :) We also NEVER slept. I seriously got like maybe 2 or 3 hours of sleep each night. The first night I didn't sleep at all! I thought I would be tired but all the candy we ate kept me going!

The theme this year was a Princess theme, it was something like "Your fairy tale story is about to begin. Make it end with happy ever after." So we focused alot on how we are princess's and how we need to think about finding a prince to make our lives "Happy Ever After." We got alot of cute princess stuff like crowns, lip gloss, soap, and wood castle book with pictures & handouts from camp. My favorite thing we got was a wood block that was painted pink with ribbons around it and the quote on it said......."Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life."

We had some awesome speakers talk to us. It always gets you thinking about your life, like what your doing and what things you could do differently. Testimony meeting always does that too. Every year that part of camp is especially great and it never fails to be one of the most spiritual moments. Basically, it was a great camp overall and I'm glad I went.

HAPPY B-DAY MOM!

This is just a little shout-out to my wonderful mom! Her birthday was yesterday (June 4th). We celebrated the day by going to dinner at Tucano's (which for anyone who hasn't been there, it was pretty good...their brown sugar glazed pineapple...aaahhhh DELICIOUS!) and then going to a movie.

Thanks mom for everything you do for me and our family. You are so kind and have such a big heart. You always know how to put a smile on my face. Thanks for sacrificing your sleep to stay up and wait for me when I decide to stay out until morning! Thanks for letting me eat ice cream and popsicle's for breakfast! :) Thanks for all of our chats about boys, friends, school, and life in general. I couldn't have asked for a better mom who has always been there for me. I hope your birthday was great! We love you lots.
