My Entomologist

Cameron has been announcing for quite some time now that he is going to be a bug scientist when he grows up. I'm fine with that, but now I have to endure years and years of bugs in and around our home because they are his "friends."

I just love Cameron. He has no fear of anything creepy or crawly.

I asked Cameron if he had a name for this grasshopper and he said, so matter of fact: "Mom, this is a grasshopper. It doesn't have a name. It can't talk."

I just LOVE this kid!

The 3 Amigos

The 3 Amigos

This picture is the only decent result of Cam refusing to smile, Sawyer about to cry, and Max trying to match everyone else. I guess I'd refuse to smile too when I knew there was a Cinderella doll and a baby stroller right outside the door just WAITING to be played with - that would be Cameron.  Great job Ev!

For JD (and the rest of you)

It's pretty sad when my last post was at the end of November and it was about Halloween.  MAN, I've slacked!  I'm going to try and be better.

JD, this post is for you.  Now please stop sending me text messages every single day asking when I'm going to post.  YOU'RE NOT POSTING EITHER!

Ok, with that said...

Christmas 2009 was a HIT:

Photobucket
Highlights:
  • Max and Cam both got new bikes and helmets
  • Max is obsessed with anything LEGO
  • Cameron loves loves LOVES Handy Manny and the tools
  • Imaginext toys are Max and Cam's favorite
  • Sawyer is happy with anything.  Literally, anything.  Nothing seems to make this kiddo sad, unless he's hungry - then he really lets you know
  • Cameron loves to lay down next to Sawyer and share the blanket
  • Max begged for a University of Utah lanyard.  Why?  We're not sure, but he wears his everywhere, as does Cam
  • Cam got a really cool shopping cart which he races all over our house, running into walls and people on purpose just so the contents of the cart go all over.  It's hilarious I tell you.  HILARIOUS!
  • Cam loves cookies and so does Cookie Monster; therefore, Cam loves Cookie Monster
We had a great Christmas.  Here's to many more wonderful holidays!!

Halloween Recap '09

Chris and I thought it would be fun to have the kids decorate cookies for Halloween. I'm pretty sure that more frosting when into the kids mouths and all over them than on the cookies. It was ok because it was really fun for the kids and I think they enjoyed themselves. I know that Cam loved licking the sprinkles off the place-mats. Silly boy!

A couple of days before Halloween I had the kids try on their costumes to get used to them. This was Cam's reaction:
Pure joy, I tell you. Pure joy.
The afternoon of Halloween, I took the kids to my dad's office to do some trunk-or-treating. They seemed to enjoy themselves:
Grandpa Baran, Sawyer the Frog, Uncle JD the Cowboy and his trusty horse, Cam the Dragon, and Max the Pirate. Argggg!

Then we went to Grandma Vi's house and the kids loaded up on more candy. Max wore a penguin costume for Grandma Vi since she loves loves LOVES penguins but he couldn't wait to get back into his pirate costume. Cam was a big fan on the wooden swing they have in their backyard - that is, until he had to get off. Then he was mad at everyone.

I was so glad when Halloween was over. Cam only wore his costume because I convinced him that he was just wearing fuzzy pants and a coat. When he finally looked in the mirror at the end of the day he threw the biggest fit! I hope he does better with this costume thing next year. SHEESH!

Sorry

I can't believe it's been forever since I blogged... Well, actually, I can believe it. I'm just so pregnant these days and I'm just slacking on the family blog.

Here's a bit of some updates:

Max and Cam are both growing up SO fast! They both love to touch my tummy and feel little Sawyer (yes, that's our baby's name) kick and move all over. They both laugh about it. Max told me that Sawyer was trying to get out and I believe it. Cam just laughs and then points and says,"BABY!" It's so cute.

An update with the baby situation. Sawyer's scheduled birthday is August 5th at 7:30am; HOWEVER, I've been having contractions. SO, if I do go into labor, Sawyer will be born that day instead of in August. I'm really hoping and praying he comes earlier. This kiddo feels HUGE. And I have a recent ultrasound to prove it. At 34 weeks, Sawyer was measuring at 36.5 weeks and approximately 6 lbs 10 oz. SO, now that I'm 36 weeks along, he's measuring 38.5 weeks and my tummy is measuring that of a 40 week along tum tum. So, as far as I'm concerned, he's fully cooked! If he stays in and keeps growing, my doc thinks he'll be between 10-12 lbs! HOLY MOLEY! So, see why I'd like to have him come out now?? I haven't gained a ton of weight - 12 lbs. Not too bad, eh?

I've packed my hospital bag because I'm really hoping to go early. Anyone is welcome to visit me at the hospital. :) I'll be at St. Mark's and I'll be there for 4-5 days (thank you c-section). So please, come visit! Just call, text, or write me or something so I can tell you where I am and I can make sure I don't have 90 visitors at once. That happened last time when I had Cam and it was a bit overwhelming.

Anyway, thanks for reading.

Well...

So in my last posted I promised to be better about blogging. As of yet, I have not followed through with this. I still need to post about Max-a-roo turning 4. Can you believe that??!!

I'll just post this quick picture of Cameron at my sister-in-law's "personal" shower. These were Cam's favorite items. Isn't he just adorable??!!

JD's also all married away to the GREATEST gal! It's kinda nice to not be the only married person now. Now HE can be bugged about having more kids. I need a break. SHEESH!

Where did we go?

We haven't gone anywhere but you'd think we did because of the lack of posts. I will say that Max and Cam have become a dynamic duo of havoc wrecking boys. There are some days that Chris will ask me how I'm doing and I just start to cry. I'm seriously worried about having 3 boys because the 2 I have now are so busy!!! I'm sure everything will work out and the stress will level but for now, our life seems crazy.

He's some fun photos of the kiddos. They're growing up so fast!!

*note: If Cam doesn't want you to take his picture while he's swimming, do it anyway because he still looks super cute in his swim outfit.

An update with our Baby Boy #3: He's a big time mover. Pretty much he's still for a couple of hours throughout the day but mostly I can watch my stomach move all over the place like there's waves inside. I've only gained 9 lbs so far and the baby is estimated to be between 8-9 lbs AT DELIVERY! He seems huge NOW, so I can only imagine. My doc said I can only delivery a week early, so August 4th-ish, here I come. I'll have a more accurate date closer to the time of delivery since I get to plan my c-section. We do have a name picked out but the middle name is up for debate. I can't post the name on here because there are so many other people having baby boys around me and I'd hate for them to take my name before me. They can have it after me, but not before. :)

I'll try and be better about posting. Thanks for reading!!

Happy Birthday CAMERON!!

Ooooh, my sweet Cameron! Max chose this apple just for Cameron and I thought,"There's probably no harm in this - Cam has little teeth and a little mouth." I was right- no harm; just look how sweet he looks. He also kept watching me and I know he was thinking I was going to take his apple away. I just love all his little bite marks in the apple. Oh yes, Cam eats real people food and has been for the past 2 months. He's a growing boy and baby food just wasn't cutting it for him. After "apple time", Cam was pretty sticky, so I wiped him off and put him in his chair with some milk, cereal, and cut up apple bits. He was having so much fun making a mess that I just had to let him go and take some pictures later. After this, he was promptly put into the tub. I'm so glad he waited to make a mess until after I put his seat cover in the wash.

I just LOVE this boy!!

Happy Birthday!!

Milestone # 526,979

Cam's a-walkin... I'm so glad I had the camera close to tape this HUGE milestone. Cam had been taking 1 or 2 steps here and there, but then he'd just drop and crawl because he's super fast at that. Well, that may be a thing of the past.

Please ignore my annoying, excited mommy, voice.

Alas, Boys will be Boys...

Chris and I were actually talking about this yesterday, how boys will be boys and MY boys will be covered with cuts and bruises all the time BECAUSE THEY ARE BOYS. Well, Max has the bruising part down FO SHO! This kid ALWAYS has bruises all over his shins. How does he get them? Who knows? I even asked him how he got hurt and he said he wasn't hurt.

Now that Cam is starting to walk around a bit, the bumps and bruises have begun... he's always running into stuff while he's crawling or getting conked with a toy. Well, today was our first gusher. I guess he bumped his chin on something on the play kitchen and then Max yelled,"Mom, there's BWUUD aww ova!" So I survey the scene and it looked like Cam had eaten some chocolate and it was all over his face... well , it wasn't chocolate, it was blood. Here is a picture after the cleanup:
Not too bad... Here's a closeup of his "wip":

Not shabby... upon further inspection, Cam also has the same slit/cut on the inside of his lip in the same spot... so, my hypothesis (that sounds smart) is that his tooth went through his lip. {Sigh} Now his lip is just getting fat but it doesn't seem to bother him... he just keeps sucking on it. The bleeding has stopped so that's good.

I know this is just a precurser for my life ahead, but c'mon! Cam's not even one yet!!

Grammy = My mom (Leslie)

These words were literally just shouted at me this morning:

Max: I want to go to GRAMMY'S! Go on a date NOW!

We then had a discussion about yelling at mom. A date does sound pretty good about now. Chris, wanna leave work so we can go on a date??

On another note... Cam was up all night for no reason at all; he just didn't want to sleep and wanted us all to be awake with him.
Today is going to suck!

Ordinary Day

Want to see a normal day at our house?

Cam usually likes to begin his day by unloading our island:

And then our day usually consists of silliness. Yes... don't believe me? Check this out:

Cameroon

Cameron's new favorite thing is to look out our front windows and bang on them and yell stuff. I just wonder what exactly he's yelling. Maybe he's trying to get someone's attention?? Who knows. Either way, it's super cute.

I Wanna Be Like Dad

Both of my boys want to be just like their dad. How do I know this? Well, Max LOVES to vacuum and clean up our house INCLUDING scrubbing the toilets. And yes, Chris does these things as well. I am SO lucky! And I have a super clean house. Max also loves to put on Chris' clothes. SO cute!
Since Cam can now stand up to anything, he loves to play in the play kitchen and put food things together (as does Max). Chris does ALL the cooking in our house so for the boys to do the same with the play stuff.... You know how lucky I am?

Cameron also says,"Dada Dadda" when he sees Chris. It just melts my heart. Cam only says,"Mommmmm" when he's crying. Figures....

You know, Chris even cooked our Thanksgiving Dinner. Yes, the WHOLE thing! And it was SOOOOOO good!

I just love my boys.

1 Yr Anniversary of Living on Nectar Way

We have now lived on Nectar Way for 1 YEAR!! I can't believe time has really gone so fast! Chris and I were trying to think of all the things that have happened in the year that we've lived here and we came up with quite a list.

In no particular order...
  • Cam was born
  • We sold the Pathfinder
  • We bought a Jeep
  • My dad got divorced (again) - Hallelujah this time, though!
  • Chris' bro had a baby
  • Chris' bro got married
  • We bought a new computer (since my other one caught on fire)
  • I participated in my first boutique (and did quite well)
  • I had knee surgery
  • We've made TONS of friends in our neighborhood
  • Chris painted Cam's room TWICE (I picked the first color and it turned out HIDEOUS!)
  • Chris and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary and 7 years of being together
  • We planted a London Plane tree (this thing will grow HUGE before we know it and shade our whole driveway
  • Cam climbed out of his crib at 8 months old - what the??
  • Max now sleeps in a cute toddler bed
  • Had a SUPER BAD snow snowstorm that killed our power for one whole day. Yes, it was chilly AND dark!
  • The Utes went undefeated and are on their way to their 2nd BCS Bowl game in 4 years
  • We voted for a new president
  • We planted an awesome flower garden
  • We picked millions of weeds out of our rock retaining wall in our back yard
  • Chris got called to be a Young Men's advisor
  • Our ward boundaries split
We can't think of anything else, but I'm sure there were tons of other things.

This is a regular occurrance in our house. Max LOVES to wake up Cameron in the morning. He must be bored. Ugh....

A Little Story about a Cowboy and a Frog...

Halloween was really fun around here. We spent way too much money on candy thinking we'd never run out but you know what? About an hour into Trick-Or-Treating, the candy was all gone. I felt bad because I could see tons of kids still on our street, so I had to turn off our lights. Chris and Max came home with a nice haul.

Max absolutely LOVED trick-or-treating, but he didn't really care too much for the taking candy part. He was so excited to ring the doorbell and say,"Twick-Oh-Tweet". Then when he was offered candy, he'd take one piece. If they said he could have more, he'd take one more, say,"Thank You," and then head to the next house. It was pouring rain in our neighborhood but that didn't seem to deter ANY of our neighbors.
Here's my silly Cowboy Max and my extra large Frog. :) Cam was a big too tall for his costume, but he'll for sure fit into the ones we've got for him next year.

Cam is growing like a weed. He went to the doctor on Monday and he's almost 20 lbs. *NOTE* Max is almost 3 years older than Cam and only 10 lbs heavier. I think Cam is going to be bigger than Max - height and weight. Yeehaw for tall and healthy kids!

Oh Cam...

Dear Cameron,
Please please please make a note that it is NOT time to play at 4:11 am. Even if you are making cute cooing noises and throwing all the blankets out of your crib. Also, just because you start kicking your legs all over the place it doesn't mean mommy is going to get you out. Ok? Please remember this. Mommy and Daddy are tired. Daddy has to get up early to go to work and mommy's knee is still hurting - plus, it takes her *forever* to hobble to your room to put you back to bed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,
Mommy
