k'foops

This is in Smiths Weekly for 14 November 1925 p. 13, I found it while i was looking for something else. I'm sharing it with you only because of K'foops. I seem to recall my grandmother talking about K'foops only I am sure she said it, or spelled it, or I perceived it (this last definitely true) as Kerfoops. It's just a name of a random person who matters to no-one, like 'Fred Nerk'. People used to, I guess, think this kind of thing was cool or something? Pretty hard to imagine. Anyway, I wonder where it came from, and whether it's making a comeback, it probably is. 

How sinister is that fourth frame though. K'foops is a devil.
