Jim Gaffigan portrays having four kids like this: "Pretend that you are drowning...and then someone hands you a baby." Haha. This has been our mantra over the past six weeks. We are indeed overwhelmed with our four busy, crazy boys. We have been overwhelmed with love, charity, kindness, crying, meltdowns, more crying, way too much tv watching and video games, happiness...a whole gamut of emotion basically. We love our little Mack Daddy, Mack N. Cheese, Macky Moo, Baby Mack, Big Mack, he is a doll. Kind of a fussy doll, but we like him. He is a good baby who sleeps well and eats like a maniac. He will be bigger than Leo before we know it (not like that is hard). And he is oh so adorable.
I wish that this was going to be an extremely detailed post of our past few weeks, but I'm not sure I have the strength or time. Just a few things I would like to remember-
Keith is my hero. He is so helpful and wonderful. He is my boys' favorite playmate. He is the best baby snuggler of all time. He likes to buy me things. He is amazing.
My mom is crazy helpful. Who takes care of someone for 10 days and then takes her older children so she can snuggle her newborn and sleep for a week? My mom. I hope to be like her some day.
Benson is the best helper ever. Griffin is the baby whisperer. Leo is the cutest toddler who ever lived.
Croup with a toddler and taking care of a newborn do not mix well.
Being not-pregnant is glorious. Being fat after having a baby is not so fun.
Being a mom is fantastic. It is awful sometimes. It is insanely awesome and difficult. It is humorous and not funny. It is exhausting in every way-and I am so grateful I get to do it.
And newborns are the best thing ever. Especially mine.
