Holiday Happenings

Courtney just turned one year old! She is getting so big and SO cute! She says and does the cutest things! She can say "Alli, mom, done, bath, hot." She is walking all over the place. How time has flown! I felt bad for her on her birthday because she had a pretty high fever. It was obvious she was not feeling well as she picked and poked at her Costco cake. No Costco cake?! She must be sick!!

I LOVE Christmas time! Lately we have been decorating for the holidays! The girls have been on a high lately- lots of energy! I hope I'm not the only one experiencing this holiday energy kids have.

The kids got an early Christmas present- a kitten! I did not have pets growing up (unless you count a goldfish). This is all new to me! The kids named him Sam. He likes to climb up EVERYTHING- drapes, trees etc. Dumb cat! I guess I can't complain because he is great with the girls. Little Courtney will poke at his eyeballs and smack him around and he doesn't seem to mind. Sam has found a second home.........

He has only tipped the tree over once in the 2 days we have had it up. I guess we are on a roll!

Happenings at the Simon's

School is in session and you would think life would slow down a bit...not so! Its busy around here. Kylie and Alli have been taking a modern/jazz dance class. They are loving it! They have a recital coming up so they have been practicing their moves. Its pretty cute!

Courtney will be one years old next month- hard to believe! She took her first steps yesterday. She wants SO badly to be like her big sisters! She does the cutest things! Courtney is also learning to sleep in her OWN bed and NOT in between mom and dad! The last few nights have been rough.

I recently completed another half marathon. This time it was the SoJo in South Jordan, UT. I did it with my sister Lisa and her friend. I was so proud of myself because I beat my personal best time at 1:27. It is a Boston qualifier so I may try the full thing next year. I get in for free next year since I placed 1st woman. Too bad they didn't hand out any cool prizes (I.E. cash). They gave me a plaque with my picture on it- no thanks! Zazoosh.com took pictures of the race. Here is a link:

Steve just got a calling as priest quorum advisor in the young men's at church and I now teach Relief Society. This calling has been (should I say) stressful calling but I am excited to learn and grow.

Back on the Band Wagon

I know- I have not updated my blog FOREVER! I have good excuses though, wanna hear? New house, new baby, kids out of school and vacations. Are those some good excuses?

We recently purchased a home in Farmington. We love it here! Cute town, quiet neighborhood and very friendly. It is 5 bedrooms 2 baths so hopefully it will fit our family for a while.

Our summer has been a busy one! It started out with the move, Kylie's birthday, my birthday, vacation to Yellowstone, grandma and grandpa in town, swimming, training for races and the list goes on. Here are so pictures to recap some of our family memories so far this summer.

Our family vacation to Yellowstone. We rented a cabin in Island Park. It was beautiful! The weather was perfect (lots of bugs though). We even saw 4 bears, buffalo, fox, elk, moose and a bald eagle. We have been to Yellowstone many times before and have never seen this many animals.

This is a half marathon I did here in Farmington. Courtney is my biggest cheerleader (or at least the only one who was awake that morning).

Winter Fun

The holiday season this year was a lot of fun! The girls LOVE having a new baby in the house. Santa brought the girls an American Girl dolls. Now we all have our OWN babies!! Here are some pictures to recap our winter break!

Grandma had a GREAT idea and made homemade pizzas with her two little helpers. Only Grandma would have the patience to do this. We had flour all over the floor :) Good thing Alli got the broom out and brushed it all over the floor. What a big helper!

We went out to lunch with my Grandma at Marie Calendar's. Alli was so THRILLED they had watermelon that she had to get a big plate of it. This is her favorite food!

To top it all off, we decided to put the girls in ski school at Mt. Spokane. They L-O-V-E-D it!!!

It was fun to see the entire family (including yaya and uncle Frankin this year). Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a great winter break! This was a memorable one!

Our New Little Girl!

After laboring for over 12 hours our newest little princess is finally here! Courtney Elise Simon was born on November 18th weighing in at 6 lbs 13 oz and 19.5 inches long. She is such a sweetie and just perfect!

Not a great picture, but hey, after laboring ALL night long with an epidural that I could basically just feel on one side of my body, I had to put this one on- it is well deserved!

She is holding her own binkie. Boy am I glad she will take one. Our little Alli-bug never took one! What a lifesaver!

Kylie and Alli were at home celebrating their new sister's birthday. Grandma J helped them make some cupcakes- their favorite! They even put a candle in one for Courtney!

Due to the H1N1 flu, the hospital I delivered at would not allow any visitor under the age of 14. This is Kylie and Alli meeting their sister for the first time. They sure love being big sisters!!

Spooky Halloween

We had quite the eventful Halloween this year. The kids went trick or treating 4 different times! Anyone want some candy?

First was Alli's preschool Halloween program and the same day was Kylie Halloween school program.

They both did such a great job! They were so cute to watch. I think Alli yawned twenty different times during her program and Kylie sang her lungs out in her program!

Next, was the pumpkin carving. Well, that lasted a whole 2 seconds before Steve stabbed his hand and had to go to the insta-care to get stitches! Poor guy. SO.... I was the lucky one who got to finish (or should I say "start" the pumpkin carving). This was the first year in our married lives I did the pumpkin carving. I didn't do the greatest job but heck the kids thought they looked GREAT! Thats all that matters, right?

On Halloween Day, there was a Utah game. Since we have season tickets and they were doing a little trick or treat with the athletes, we decided to go. I ended up leaving early with a good friend who has season tickets next to us and taking the kids trick or treating AGAIN! The kids loved it! I was the pregnant woman wobbling behind trying to keep up with the kids who ran from house to house getting treats. I don't know who was more pooped out at the end- me or the kids.

Halloween this year was one to remember!
