Colorful Reflections ... and the Lakers Playoff Discount is back!

"Colorful Reflections"
Oil, 6" x 12" on canvas panel.
$350.00 unframed.
I spent most of the day yesterday in Balboa and so it was a forgone conclusion that I would end up posting a boat painting today. I took 73 photos which will inspire at least 20 new paintings so I am very excited to start painting Balboa again!
I forgot about the crazy LAKER PLAYOFF DISCOUNT I offered last year during the NBA playoffs. Since my team (the Lakers) appear to need all the help they can get, I am offering the same great promotion. If the Lakers win, then I will discount my paintings by a percentge that is calculated by the number of points the Lakers win by. So, if the score of tonights game is Lakers - 100 and Hornets - 75, then I will offer a discount of 25% off my paintings. And the discount only lasts until the next playoff game. Hopefuly this makes sesne ...
Need I remind you that the Lakers won a playoff game last year by 38 points?????

Update ... Lakers won by 16 so all of my paintings are 16% off.

Just Sailed Past Boston- SOLD

"Just Sailed Past Boston"
Oil, 8" x 8" on canvas panel.
Sold.
Hmmm ... what an interesting title for this painting. What could it possibly mean?
Ok, I will give you a couple of hints ...
1.  I have been extremely quiet since a really big event occurred on Thursday night.
2.  I used a very limited palette in this painting ... purple and gold ...
3.  The painting depicts an event that involved a group of about 12 men (and a coach) who basically... "sailed past boston"...

Sorry Celtic fans. I couldn't resist ... and if anyone has Kobe's address please send it to me. I would gladly send this to him as a gift. Thanks Lakers for a great year and back to back national championships.

Lakers win by 21 so BIG discount on my art ... and a new logo!

A few things ... the Lakers won tonight by 21 points, so that means all of my paintings are 21% percent off until the next playoff game! Yikes!
My new "art logo" is posted above (and all over my website and facebook). I do think "branding" is important for any business. And even though artists can use their "art" to brand their name I really wanted to pursue a "new look and feel" for my art. Other than my paintings.
So ... my dear friend Dreama Tolle Perry came to the rescue. She suggested an on-line service called www.logotournament.com. Basically, it's a site where you agree to spend $250 (or more) up front to have a log designed for you. They have hundreds of artists that will submit logos to your contest. When you sign up, you provide tons of information about what you want. I included links to my website and blog. Your "contest" is then posted on their site and within a few hours the logo ideas start posting to your "contest page". It's important that you provide feedback and rank the logos as they come in. Because the artists really do listen to what you have to say. And all of the artists will continue to submit new ideas based on your feedback.
Early on, I decided I wanted a palette knife in my logo. Then, one artist pulled my signature from my paintings into the logo. I really liked that. Another saw that I painted reflections and added reflections into the logo design. At the end of seven days, you have the option to extend the contest another week. So I did. By the end of the 14 days, I had over 100 logos submitted. And they were really great. I LOVE my winning logo.

Go Lakers - SOLD

"Reflections in a Row"
Oil, 6" x 6", $250 framed.
Sold.
Most of you know I am a huge Laker fan. Since the playoffs are here, I am offering a discount on my paintings that will be determined by the score differential in the Laker games. For example, the Lakers won last night by 3 points, so my paintings are all 3% off. Now, had I been a Boston Celtics fan I would be in big trouble because they beat the Miami Heat last night by 33 points! And if the Lakers lose, you pay me. Kidding! (There is no discount or increase if they lose!) So, check your sports section. Because if the Lakers win big, so do all of you!

A Late Night

Late Afternoon Sail, Oil 8" x 10"
I should call this painting "late night sail" as it is almost midnight and I just finished it! I had fun with it and I like the colors, I just took forever because I couldn't keep my eyes off the Laker game ... while I was supposed to be painting!
As a mother of three boys I am a HUGE SPORTS FAN. I really do love sports. My favorite sports are whatever sports my boys are playing. This afternoon was my absolute favorite scenario ... three boys all playing in three different games/events ... at the high school we had a baseball game, volleyball game and swim meet all at the same time. I actually managed to see all four of my son's swimming events, most of the volleyball game and all of my middles son's "at bats". He was also pitching and I saw the majority of his "time on the mound". And the best news, we went 3 - 0 today, so they all came home happy. Oh yeah, the Lakers won too!
