Front Porch Kits: Happy Home REVEAL Day

It's reveal day for the new Front Porch Kits "Happy Home".  You can see my sneaks here, here and here.

I had so much fun creating these projects.  All of my projects as well as some of the other FPK designers are on display at the Little Blue House. Did you preorder your kit? If not, you can order the kit here or stop by/call The Little Blue House to grab one for yourself.  I know "Happy Home" is going to be a hot product in the shop, so don't wait long.

Here are some of my favorite projects all made with the materials found in "Happy Home".

A whimsy little tag waiting to adorn a package. Love the burlap trim that comes in the kit!

Each kit contains a Maya Road chipboard shadowbox. How will you design yours?

The pictures of Carter's first day of Kindergarten worked great with these papers!

Love the contrast of the kraft/black polka dot paper that is included in "Happy Home"….and all the wood elements!

A double layout. I cut the wonky scalloped border from the denim fabric that is included in the kit.

Front Porch Kits: Happy Home Sneaks Day 3

TGIF.  What do you think about all of the new Front Porch Kit "Happy Home" sneaks? Are you inspired? Are you excited to get your hands on "Happy Home"? 

I posted sneaks here and here if you missed out. The full reveal for "Happy Home" is tomorrow. One of my favorite products in the kit are a few of the bright, colorful papers. These papers worked great and allowed me to play a little with my new Ken Oliver Crafts Color Bursts (not included in the kit but available at The Little Blue House).  This kit is so versatile and it makes me Happy Happy Happy.

Front Porch Kits "Happy Home": Sneaks Day 1

Happy Hump Day and Front Porch Kits Sneak Day!!!! Nat here with some info on the new Front Porch Kits newest release "Happy Home".

I say this about all kits: "This one is my all time favorite."  But hands down, "Happy Home" is by far my favorite FPK!!!! The colors scream "me". It is so versatile and has so many elements such as wood veneers, various sticker sheets, a full set of Thickers, material, fun trims, a shadow box surface and the new Bella Blvd Clear Cuts Overlays. I absolutely love, love, love this kit. It makes me HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.

Bunny Hop Blog Hop - Day 2 - Easter Layout

Hey Blue Fans. Thanks so much for hopping back for a 2nd day of inspiring Easter projects.

Today I have an Easter layout to show you that uses the "Easter Parade" collection by Doodlebug. The collection can be found at The Little Blue House or online here.

So, let's get started…

Materials Used:

• Multi Color Polka Dot from "Easter Parade", 12 x 12 base page 
• Yellow tonal patterned paper from "Easter Parade", 4 1/4 x 12
• 2 teal borders fussy cut from the Border patterned paper from "Easter Parade"
• Robin's Egg cardstock, 3 squares cut at 3 1/4"(will be photo mats)
• Scraps of cardstock in Robin's Egg and Magenta
• Pink/White twine, Doodlebug
• Sprinkles vellum in Green
• Easter Confetti die by Taylored Expressions (found here)
• Mini Envelope die by Taylored Expressions (found here)
• Stickers from "Easter Parade" collection
• small hole punch
• adhesives (pop dots, ATG, glossy, Xyron X tape runner)
• Clear Wink of Stella (found here)
• Caribbean Blue chalk ink by Quick Quotes (found here)

How To:

Ink all papers in Caribbean Blue ink

Lay yellow strip of tonal in center of Polka Dot base page
Adhere fussy cut borders to each side of the yellow strip

Adhere 3 photo mats to the yellow tonal patterned paper, finish with 3 - 3" pictures

Adhere the kraft Easter banner stickers from the collection to a scrap of Robin's Egg cardstock. Fussy cut leaving a small border around the banner. Punch holes in the top left and top right corners of each of the banner pieces

Thread pink/white twine through each of the banner pieces. I kept my pieces close together and didn't leave much open space between the letters. Make sure you leave a large tail on each end of the banner once threaded.
With pop dots, adhere the banner to the top right corner of the page

Using the long tail of twine from the banner, adhere the twine around the page using random loops. I used glossy accents to adhere my twine down at the loops (only). I did NOT use glossy on all of my twine.

Die cut the Mini Envelope from the Green Sprinkles Vellum. Put the envelope together, leaving the top part open. I used a tiny strip of ATG to seal the rest of the envelope shut (it doesn't need much adhesive). Adhere envelope to the bottom left of the page at an angle (again, I used a tiny strip of ATG)

Die cut Easter Confetti from scraps of Robin's Egg and Magenta cardstock. For these tiny pieces, I used my 'X' for the adhesive
Scatter the confetti in/around the envelope to make it look like it's falling out of the envelope.
Finish the page with some word stickers on the photos. I also pop dotted the orange arrow (added a word sticker to it) and pointed towards the pictures

This layout went together so quickly. I just love the Easter Confetti die and the Sprinkles Vellum.

Bunny Hop Blog Hop - Day 1 - Easter Tag

Hey Blue Fans!!! Thanks so much for hopping over to The Blue Crew.

If you are following the hop in order, you just hopped from Lindsay's post on the LBH blog here.  I have linked the other blogs at the bottom of this post.

For this Bunny Blog Hop I created a quick and easy Easter tag using the new Sprinkles Vellum paper by Doodlebug. I love the softness it creates to a project.

So, let's hop to it, shall we?!?!?

Materials used

• White cardstock
• Pink cardstock
• Doodlebug Sprinkles Vellum in Cupcake (found here)
• Reverse Confetti Tag Me Too die (found here)
• Doodlebug Easter Parade collection (found here)
• White paper twine
• Pink/white twine (found here)
• Clear Wink of Stella (found here)
• Scissors
• Adhesive / pop dots

How To:

Die cut the RC Scalloped Tag from the vellum and white cardstock. Die cut the scalloped circle tag enforcer from the pink cardstock

Adhere the tag enforcer on top of the vellum.

Run a line of adhesive (I used the ATG) on TOP of the white tag. Place vellum tag on top of the white. I chose to do it this way because I didn't want any adhesive to peak through on the vellum. And I like that it created a bit of natural dimension between the vellum and white cardstock.
Fussy cut the 2 chicks from the Easter journal tag on the "Darling Daisies" paper. Cover with clear Wink of Stella and set aside to dry

Adhere "tweet tweet" quote bubble to the tag. Adhere 2 chicks to the tag. Pop dot one of the chicks.

Choose 2 word stickers from and "kite" each end (I used "Springtime" and "Hoppy Easter"). Adhere one on top of the pink plaid heart and the other just over the pop dotted chick

Finish tag with white paper twine and tie a bow around the paper twine with the pink/white twine

Weekend Smiles Layout

Hey Blue Fans!! Happy Hump Day.  Have you been following the LBH Blog this week? They are showcasing the new "I Am" collection from Simple Stories. Head on over to the blog here to see what the LBH Media Team has designed for you!

I have a layout to share that uses the new "Happy Day" collection from Pebbles.  Some of the papers were featured in the last Front Porch Kit "The Greatest of These is…LOVE".

Since I primarily scrap Carter, a lot of my creative challenge is making an abundant "girly" line translate on to a boy-y page.  This collection does have a lot of navy, brown and chartreuse. In addition to the paper collection and elements, I also used the new Lawn Fawn "Quinn ABC" stamp and die set as well as a new Reverse Confetti banner die. I love how everything came together.

Products Used
Chartreuse striped paper, 12 x 7
Crossword pattern paper, 12 x 6 1/4
Emoticon selvage from patterned paper (just trim off the selvage)
Navy cardstock, 12 x 1
2 frame tags
3 journal tags
Double Banner Garland die, Reverse Confetti (cut solid banner from scrap of Navy cardstock)
Lawn Fawn "Quinn ABC" stamp/die set
Blue dye ink
Coal Miner chalk ink
Sun sticker

How To

Ink papers and tags in Coal Miner ink
I didn't have a full sheet of 12x12 patterned paper, so I pieced the stripe and crossword papers together. Adhere these two sheets to make a 12x12 sheet

This is the backside of the 2 patterned papers

Adhere 1" navy strip to the bottom of the striped paper and adhere emoticon strip to the middle of the navy strip

Adhere 2 verticle photos to page and tuck 2 frame tags behind.  Any time I am building a page and know I will tuck and layer behind photos or other embellishments, I put just a small amount of adhesive. Once I am happy with my placement I will come back and add more adhesive where needed.

For my title, I used the "weekend" journal tag and trimmed around the word. Adhere to the right of the page
Die cut "smiles" from the reverse side of a journal tag. Stamp "smiles" in blue ink on the die cuts. Add pop dots and adhere below "weekend" title.

Tour of Mom's Scrap Room

Happy Monday Blue Fans!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. It's back to reality for me today. I was off last week to spend time with the family since it was Spring Break. I'm afraid it's going to be a lonnnnnnng week!!! But let's hope not.

We went with another family to San Antonio last weekend and drove back last Tuesday. I was home long enough to unload, repack, say 'toddles' to Jerry….then Carter and I were back in the car en route to Small Town, East Texas to visit my mom for the remainder of the week. I worked on some LBH Media Team projects like the one here.  Mom made some cards. We played a million and one games of Go Fish with Carter.  We dined at some of my favorite small town eateries. Mom made me a lemon pie. It was just a great week and I didn't want it to end.  I will share pictures of my San Antonio trip later on as well as some tutorials of things I made using the new Pebbles "Happy Day" collection for the LBH Media Team. I wanted to give you a tour of my mom's scrap space today.  I envy her space. Yes, I have my own space…..but it's a converted space (a spare bedroom). Mom's space is a true office…and it has a lot of wonderful natural light. It's not big enough for both of us to create in there so we haul about 40% of her room out to the kitchen table while I'm home (yes, at 37 years old, I still call it 'home'). When we need something, we make a joke and say "I need to go shopping" and off to her craft room we go.

So, here we go…
