Cake Bites

1. Prepare a cake

2. When you take it out of the oven, use a fork to crumble it all up!

3. Allow to cool

4. Transfer cake crumbs to giant bowl

5. Add container of frosting to cake crumbs & STIR

6. Form cake balls, place on wax paper

7. Freeze for 20 minutes

8. Dip in melted candy chocolate

9. Experiment with all kinds of cake, frosting, and chocolate combinations. YUM :P

This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. It was announced in October 2008 that a Temple would be built in Philadelphia, and today the design has been released to the public (me!) and construction will begin in May 2012. When I saw this picture for the first time an hour ago, I almost cried.

Happy Birthday To Me

Oh, what a day. I haven't felt hungry for over 24 hours now.

Last night was Texas Roadhouse for 2 free appetizers.

This morning was IHOP for free pancakes with strawberries, sausage, and eggs.

This afternoon was Mimi's Cafe for a free strawberry lemonade, quiche loraine, fruit, carrot raisin muffin, salad, and chocolate mousse pie (don't worry-the leftovers are in the fridge).

I also swung by Krispy Kreme for a free donut, but I gave that away.

When I showed up at work with several chocolate oreo cupcakes, my co-workers showed me the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, chocolate donuts, and brownies they had bought to celebrate. As a gift, they presented me with all the books I had been saving up in my desk drawer. It was a heavy bag to carry home.

After work I took a small homemade cake over to my old apartment where I was sung to and got to blow out my birthday candles. My roommate had decorated the wall for me with our favorite youtube quotes from this summer.

FAAAAACT!

And now that the day is over, my tummy hurts :(

BUT it was a great birthday.

My newest and most prized possession from the day is my creepy chia-pet type dog (extremely reminiscent of the japanese dog from youtube) sitting on my window sill. Pictures of his hair progress to follow.

Ami's Birthday

I know Ami is not growing old, only wise. She just graduated with her Master's degree, and she has many more things in life to accomplish. She wants to start her own business, help couples to adopt, keep rescuing kittens, become a mommy, and I'm sure there are other aspirations that she keeps secret. She still has her enthusiasm for life.

Growing up is not as bad as it always seemed. Sure, there are more worries in my life now that I'm out of the house, but my sisters are becoming my friends.

Ami, I'm glad that we could be friends. Happy Birthday!

What IS Hillbilly Golf?

A backyard game made out of pipes, rope, and golf balls. Kind of like horseshoes. These two contraptions would be facing each other, but spaced out. You get 3 pieces of rope, each with a golf ball on its ends, and you toss it. 3pts for the top bar, 2pts for the middle bar, 1pt for the lowest bar.

This is the game I played on Monday for Pioneer Day before it rained!
