May 2011

May stated off with a wonderful Mother's Day. We spent the whole weekend at my sister, Katie's, house. My Mom was there for the weekend as well so my sisters and I were able to take her out shopping and to lunch on Saturday. It was fun to spend a weekend with my favorite mothers. On Sunday, after church, all the dads fixed dinner and dessert for us. I love being a mother and I feel so blessed to have each of my children.

Now that Jack is 8, he has started Cub Scouts and loves it. He is always carrying around his Cub book and wants to work on the projects and pass them off. Rob took Jack camping with my brother-in-law and nephew and it was a great opportunity to work on some scouting goals.
He was able to help start a fire and planned and helped cook their dinner.

The boys also biked on trail stayed up late playing many rounds of capture the flag.

At the end of May, Nola turned 9 months old. She weighs 17lbs 10oz and is 27" long. She is pulling herself up on everything and loves to stand up and test her limits. She tries climbing now too. She does her own version of a wave to say hi and goodbye and just started clapping her hands. She has added yogurt melts and cruchies to her finger food diet and loves to eat! She is still soooooo curious and is always into something. Her favorite game is to throw things and have you pick them up so she can throw it again and wants to do this over and over. Nola also really likes music...anytime Jack practices piano she stops whatever she is doing and crawls as fast as she can to the piano and watches him play, she also is always silent during the singing and music in church and as soon as it is done goes back to being restless or fussy, and only seems to look and be interested in the TV if she hears music or singing.

Jack's Baptism

On April 30th, Jack was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

We loved having lots of family there to share this day with Jack.

After the baptism, Jack picked his favorite mexican restaurant for a fun family lunch.

April 2011

After Jack's birthday party at the beginning of April, we celebrated cousin Megan's birthday the following weekend. Megan had a Glamor Girl party at a local children's salon and Callie loved getting her hair, makeup, and nails done.

The following weekend was Easter. We started the morning off with an egg hunt.

After church, the kids each found their Easter baskets that were hidden throughout the house.

At the end of the month, Rob's parents, Nana and Opa, were in town visiting and took us to the Orlando Science Center. The kids had a lot of fun exploring the different exhibits and play areas.

Nola turned 8 months old at the end of April.

She is crawling faster and loves to explore. Her favorite thing to do is crawl through small spaces. She often goes out of her way to crawl under a table to get somewhere just for fun. She has started liking finger foods more and loves puffs and Mum-Mums. She loves playing with the older kids and likes to do the things that they do. She just recently discovered she loves riding on our motorized train in the playroom.
