Arden's New Do

We're visiting family in Arizona this week and we're having a great time! We haven't had time to upload any pics, but thanks to Mitch's sister Liz, we have these sweet pics of Arden's first haircut and blowdry. I love her hair all blown out straight - too bad I don't have patience to do that more often. Thanks Aunt Lizzy for making Arden's locks so lovely. She felt like such a beauty queen in the special hair chair.

Dear Mom,

Saw this and thought of you:
"May I say to mothers collectively, in the name of the Lord, you are magnificent. You are doing terrifically well. The very fact that you have been given such a responsibility is everlasting evidence of the trust your Father in Heaven has in you. (Jeffrey R. Holland, “‘Because She Is a Mother’,” Ensign, May 1997).
Lots of Love,
Mitch and Nicole

Meet Judy

I've been lusting after this beauty for many moons. Isn't she sleek?
Not to mention her features . . . oh the features: she tracks your runs (time, pace, elevation, calories, distance, and then some), has virtual partners, wirelessly transfers your runs to your computer for analysis and goal-setting, and with this newest version only - has touch bezel screen technology. A. maze. ing.

Well I must of been lusting out loud. And often. Because my sweet husband knew every detail about this Garmin 405, even down to the pro's and con's of the older versions and this one. Even down to the best-price one might possibly find should one ever decide one would indulge in such amazingness. And he did. Indulge I mean. Thanks so much honey. I am one happy mother on this day.

She's even prettier in person. I think I'll call her Judy.

Too young

Arden's latest phrase is: "No, mom, I'm too young for that." As in, "Arden will you please pick up your blocks?" "No mom, I'm too young for that." Or "Mom will you please reach my fishy cracker's for me, I'm too young."
I have no idea where she picked up on this concept, but considering she heard Regis and Kelly talking about someone in a bar, and commented acutely, "oh mom, they're just talking about my gymnastic bar right?" - I have a feeling there's more to come of her cleverness. So there's the anecdote, here's the picture. Apparently she's not too young to do dishes. It's her most recent obsession and it has to be done in the buff (don't worry, the dishes are actually already clean).
Suzy, on the other hand, is not too young for anything: learning to use a fireplace (should've taken a picture of her in it), getting into dusting spray, attempting to drive daddy's car when we thought she was playing on the slide, and of course - washing a car.

She kept dropping the sponge into the suds and giggling so hard she had tears. Love it.
