it was a public holiday, for prophet muhammad's birthday (maulidur rasul). get the updates of the nations' celebrations here

i slept like a sleeping beauty, woke up late, so no morning walks for me. well maybe it was still not too late but i prefer to go early in the morning while its still dark duh!...

we didn't do anything actually. we just opt to wind down by jalan-jalan in kinta city. we reached there just on time for a simple lunch at mcD as requested by megat. then i was so damn happy when kay called a little while later after lunch. only He knows of how excited we were since its been quite some time we didn't really meet up for a chat and coffee or something.

the death of A Fairos Ahmad Sulaiman

the death of A Fairos Ahmad Sulaiman, 37, from kampung temong hilir enggor, really saddened many people. it was so tragic. you can read more about it here as i do not have the guts to type it.

when i first knew it from one of uncle hashim's daughter' fb page, tears dropped from my eyes. although i was not very sure of who she (late Fairos) was, the news really makes me sad. i am sad of the way she passed away. ranong police only found the deceased after about a year she died. and the way she died is too hard to be accepted :(

so when i received a sms from my cousin juju (wan sayang's son) this morning, asking whether i have read the news about, "kawan kite FEROZ SULAIMAN mati dibunuh di Thailand!", that make me shocked! juju said 'kawan kite'. so i was trying hard to recall of who actually the friend of ours, while preparing for my kids' breakfast. my mind went hay-wire, what when thinking it was the most worst way of death argghhh!!!... it was so hard for me. suddenly i thought of kak feroz/fairuz(?) who was one of the pioneers at a local fast food restaurant here in kuale, together with us, including juju and i; about 20 years ago. kak feroz was working as a cashier. she was very helpful. she would helped her other colleagues if she was not busy with her work. she was a happy-go-lucky gal. i guess our team was the best of all. we worked happily together, with the rest like abang sham, hairi (rizal's big bro, now a teacher in ipoh), abang sani (now a chef if i'm not mistaken), kak lah, ramesh and also kay, to name a few. anyhow i replied juju to reconfirm about it. unfortunately he still didn't reply me yet to-date. he must be working or something now, that he's busy. i also sms rizal immediately and asked him to inquire more about this with his bro hairi and kak lah (rizal has their contacts).

gosh! i feel that my body is sooooo damn cold right now, thinking about this. maybe i shall update more on this when i received any news from any of the above people i know *peace*

updates:
  • 10:17am; kay sms me just now. she asked whether i knew about kak fairoz's death. ya allah... that means she was really the kak fairoz i knew.
  • 5:41pm; rizal called all the way from jb, to reconfirm that deceased was the same kak fairoz that we knew :(

to kak fairoz,
may the blessings of love be upon you,
may its peace abide with you,
may its essence illuminate your heart,
now and forever more,
blessing... amin.

colours of malaysia

i was with kay at memory lane in kinta city yesterday. we were filling up the member's form when i came across one of the questionnaires-- what festivals do you celebrate? answer: hari raya, chinese new year, deepavali, christmas or other (?). i was like... huh?!! wth! we are malaysians and shall celebrate them all. well of course the main one is the one of our religion, but when we are living in this country we are free to celebrate other festivals with our friends too. am i right? i find that malaysia's stands out with its wonderful way, many cultures live together and celebrate together. so guess what? i ticked all the boxes! *glurp*

so what if you were in my shoes?

the day i became a blog tutor

surprised or not ya... when my bff kay text me yesterday morning, asking me for a favor; to teach her of "how to start a blog" hmm... what a good start my dear... after just starting on with facebook-ing few weeks ago. unfortunately she's kinda slowing down now cuz she forgot her password duhh!!!

alright, back to the blog thingy... she has an assignment to do via blogging. as you could see from the list of my blogs (ref above screenshot), yours truly have been granted with an admin access by kay for me to help her do the editing and sort. during our meet at CB at kinta city (go here to view the location), i just helped her to start a blog. while we will do the rest i.e. edit the suitable lay-out/template, contents etc later on. now thanks to me, she has known all the this and that about blogging. believe it or not ya... she doesn't even know of how to leave comments or any shout outs before this... blerk!

so people why don't you have a look and browse thru the newly created blog
here. your great support and encouragement are mostly appreciated :)

btw i did advise her to start her own personal blog soon too. well in fact i have been persuading her to do it from eons ago. i also warned her that this kind of thingy can be addicted. we will see of how it goes...

here is "how to become a blogger" from kuE's point of view:
  1. read some interesting blogs
  2. make (non-spam) comments there, so the authors begin to know who you are
  3. start a blog, making posts commenting on some of the more interesting things that those other bloggers say
  4. respond to comments and links
  5. go to 1, repeat.

results may vary. if a rash develops, discontinue *glurp*

fyi people... kay is one of my readers but its been so hard to get her involve into this world too. the excuse: she dunno of what to do, or busy. well tell me people, whose not busy in this world right? at least once a while this thingy can get you out of your stress... believe me! do correct me if i am wrong :P

meeting kay

*phew* at last i managed to sign-in to blogger after more than an hour trying grr...

i arrived home from ipoh about 2+ hours ago. but i had damn difficulty to sign-in here. arrgghhh...

i attended a meeting with my other friends at ipoh sales office. it was about our family day on 28 to 29 april 2007. its gonna be held at
damai laut' swiss-garden golf resort & spa. i have never been there. from gan's presentation, we found that its a wonderful place. anyhow, we will see ;)

i contacted kay as soon as the meeting ended. the last time we met was in december, during my brother's wedding. kay waited for me at old town white coffee, behind tesco. it was my first time there. love the place! i definitely would recommend this place to you. the prices are reasonable too.

as you could see from the above pics (clockwise from top right) :
1. a view from my seat - on the left was the kitchen and the one on the right were boxes of white coffee for sale
2. kay's iced ipoh white coffee and toasted bread with kaya and butter
3. us
4. mine - ice-blended ipoh white coffee with ipoh chicken hor fun.

we really had a great time. you know, after so long never had a damn good talk :D

guess what people... both of us will turn 35 soon! our age difference is only seven days. kay will be going to perform her umrah from 6 to 15 may 2007. so that means she will be there in makkah on her birthday. but whatever it is, we plan to celebrate our 35th birthday together here; after she comes back. wohoo... can't wait. i know its gonna be great to spend some of our quality time there.

o yea... i am persuading kay to register for her own blog. yippeee!!!... at least we would have something in common also. do not forget to check kay's blog progress out very soon people... chewahh... kuE already started to promote this hehe...

one more thing before i forgot - lich, i have ordered three boxes of your favourite fruitcake with kay. i will bring them with me on saturday. see ya!

the wedding in kuale on 23/12/06

caution: this post would be rather long with detailed descriptions ;)

like i mentioned in my previous post, the wedding reception (majlis kenduri menyambut menantu) here in kuale for my lil' brother and his bride went smoothly, with great weather.

before i went out to town in the morning, i told everyone to meet for our last committee meeting at home around 2 or 3pm. unfortunately the president was still in town doing her (me lor... tehee...) hair. everyone was busy preparing for some last minute thing while i was still at the saloon. well at least i called home to inform them okay. so we met at 3.30pm instead. my lil' brother, the groom who do not have to do anything also joined us lol... after the meeting finished before 5pm, i filled my stomach first. ya lor... we were the host, so we have to eat before anyone else right? so mind the first pic will you ;)

after that i straight away went upstairs to get ready early as promised. i was ready maybe around 6pm. even my best friend kay also came in on time. when kay was here already, we took some pics around the house first including the bunga telur (gifts) and dining table. fyi almost every single thing i.e. wedding dais (pelamin), bunga telur (gifts), wedding favour, wedding cupcakes (instead of the normal wedding cakes), the bridal room etc.; were done together by all the family members. btw kay and i just thought that if we didn't take the pics earlier, sure kecoh later. we even asked puteri to snap our pics together on the wedding dais. when we still have time, i let kay to eat first too. she has to help us, that's why she can't join other guest at the dining table tehee... naughty me lol... :P

guest came as early as 7pm. maybe they afraid for not getting an easy parking. anyhow luckily we have some RELA people with the assitance of PDRM's police traffic men to help us with the traffic flow. i stood right at the main road to our house to greet our guest. around 8pm, my lil' brother called me (yes, i was still holding my cell-fon i tell you; as i know everyone would be calling me to report whatvever things happened around us. gosh... we should have use the walkie-talkie kan? lol...) that they will be coming. the bride and groom came in zaf's car followed by the bride's entourage about seven cars i think. unfortunately when they arrived, we can't start the merenjis (blessing) ceremony as the VVIPs haven't here yet. he (one of the VVIPs) sms dad that the traffic from ipoh was very bad. ya lor... most of ipoh people came that night lol...

so we started the merenjis as soon as the VVIPs arrived. great... they came together in one car. when i was busy mingling with other guest out-door when suddenly my cousin abang ayi called me said that my mother was looking for me. wa lau ley... i thought what ler... i was asked to do the merenjis too together with my two sisters and zaf. it seems zaf was happily smiling all the way when he did his part tehee...

as usual, the bride and groom were ushered to the main dining table after the merenjis, followed by the VVIPs and the bride's entourage. while everyone were eating, i walked around everywhere to mingle with more guest. i saw many group of family, relatives and friends were there i.e. the groom's koleq friends, my dad's koleq's and clifford's friends, my friends etc. there were also quite a number of locals like one of the twins of yut loy's with his wife, bankers, our tailors, people from the local market etc. we were entertained by my dad's friend from the clifford primary school, uncle sabri. he sang while played with his electric guitar.

after some time, uncle sabri announced that it was time for the 'wedding cupcakes eating ceremony'. oik... my cousin (dr.) sarah whose the bridesmaid together with her husband, the best man (a budak koleq too, same batch with the groom) went MIA. i guess maybe the best man was with his koleq's friends. luckily i was near them (the bride and groom), so i was the one who ushered them to the wedding cupcakes table. wah... they became stiffed, dunno what to do. ya lor... they deserved the best treatment for that day, because local call it “raja sehari”. meaning, they were the “king and queen for the day”, one day only! so i asked them to take one each of the cake and feed each other.

to everyone surprised, there after uncle sabri asked the bride and groom to joget (a type of a traditional dance). i was like err... then i looked up. my sister was there with uncle sabri at the verandah. she asked me to proceed. gosh... so i brought the bride and groom infront of the main table. my lil' brother was like whispering to me, "chor, no need lar... no need lor...". "what to do. since uncle sabri already announced it, alar just hantam saje lar", i told them. shafinaz was tremendously shy of course. i told them this before i slowly left them together, "okay shafinaz, you start". luckily she was a traditional dancer during her school days. so she started it and followed by the groom. everyone was clapping all the way too. everyone who brought cameras took the chance to take pics including me!

after the joget, although i knew they were tired; i made them meet and greet all the guest. ye lor... bila lagi nak buli pengantin kan lol... before the bride's entourage left, we took family pics together for memories. it was definitely a night to remember.

kuE's note: all the pics were taken with my nokia 6680 unless otherwise stated. our cousin zaido was the photographer for that night as syahrin got some other wedding function in johor. if not, i am sure he would do for us too. people already booked him much more earlier lor.
