Confession Wednesday

I feel like I do fairly good with directions.
and once I have been somewhere
I am pretty good at remembering how to get there and go places from there.
But when I don’t know where I am going I have this anxiety about getting there.
I usually Google map the directions
and read over them several times to kind of memorize where I am going.
and even then I just have this anxiety about getting to these unknown places.

Because I don’t know how many times Google has given me the wrong directions.

Irritating!

Once I get to my final destination I am so relieved

The Fall

Oh Fall!
Not that Arizona really has this season.
We do cool down a bit.
However, we are still hitting the triple digits. UGH!
But, we have been able to switch from AC to the Swamp Coolers.
Which means I get to sleep under a couple layers of blankets instead of a sheet.
The Fall does bring some excitement. Don’t you think?
You can sense it in the air.
It gets darker earlier, and stays darker later.
Or maybe it’s the thought of corn mazes, haunted houses, and candy corn.
Soon {hopefully} we can bundle up in scarves and sweaters.
And the thought that the Holidays are on their way is exciting too…
Exciting because family comes together.
I absolutely love it!

What’s your favorite thing about Fall???

In hopes of getting some sleep

I am hoping that by writing (i guess it would be typing) this down in a post...I will be able to get it off my mind and sleep better. Today I feel like I have been put through a whirlwind of emotions. From being grateful, hopeful, to pain, and even despair and loneliness. And I just have a hard time even expressing what those feelings are in connection with...in time I will share though.
I have a feeling Satan is really trying to get to me. I have a goal...and he does not want me to get there...but I am NOT going to let him win.
I have a few posts coming together in my mind...about autumn, online dating, and of course thoughts of him.
Today has just not been a good day all around. But I must say how much I appreciate those in my life who are there, supportive, and who lift me up. Whether it be a sweet comment, or a back rub. You help me get through days like today. So Thank You!
And tomorrow WILL be better!!!!
(ahh the power of positive thinking)

*** Let me say that when I refer to 'Him' I mean the future guy I marry...its not someone in particular...right now ****

Movie Quote Friday!

Pearl Harbor
{It's a long one}

Rafe: Not anxious to die sir, just anxious to matter.
Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle: You know what top secret is?"
Rafe: Yes, sir. It's the kind of mission where you get medals, but they send 'em to your relatives.
_________________________________________________________
Rafe: Hold on a second, Miss, I really, really lick you.
[covers mouth]
Rafe: Like you. I didn't mean to say that, and I just wanted to know if I could donate dinner, well, buy you dinner.
Evelyn: This isn't your chart.
Rafe: No that's this guy right here I think he left.
Evelyn: Have you already had this shot?
Rafe: Yea well once already yea. Well, I mean can I ask you out?
Evelyn: No.
Rafe: Uh...
[Bangs his nose into the tray of supplies]
Rafe: Oh.
Nurse: Oo. What'd you do to him?
Rafe: J, L, M, K, P, O, E, T, X. Eyes like an eagle, ma'am.
Evelyn: Slow down, flyboy. And instead of the bottom, read the very top. Both eyes.
Rafe: Yeah. C. Sorry, J.
[Clears throat]
Rafe: C, W, uh, Q, uh, Q
Evelyn: [Smiles] Read the bottom line again, please, but read it right to left and every other letter.
Rafe: E, X...
Danny: X, E.
Rafe: X, E. X, E, ma'am. Ma'am, I know how this looks.
Evelyn: I'm sorry, Lieutenant. I really am, but army and navy requires 20/20 vision.
Rafe: Oh, I... It's not a problem with my eyes. I mean, I can see. I mean I can hit a runnin' rabbit with a $3.00 pistol. I got a problem with letters, that's all.
Evelyn: Well, maybe after some schooling, you could come back and take the test again.
Rafe: No, I had schooling. I mean, the teachers just never knew what to make of it, I... It's just letters. I mix 'em up sometimes. That's all. I mean, I just get 'em backword sometimes. Look here. My math and spatial reasoning and my verbal scores are all excellent.
Evelyn: But you barely passed the written exam.
Danny: Yeah, but he did pass it. So it's my turn now?
Evelyn: No, you'll wait your turn.
Danny: Yes, ma'am.
Rafe: Ma'am, I'm never gonna be an English teacher. But I know why I'm here: to be a pilot. And you don't dogfight with manuals. You don't fly with gauges. I mean, it's all about feeling and speed, and lettin' that plane become like a part of your body. And that manual says that a guy who's a slow reader can't be a good pilot. That file says I'm the best pilot in this room. Ma'am, please, don't take my wings.
______________________________________________________
Rafe
: You are so beautiful it hurts.
Evelyn: It's your nose that hurts.
Rafe: I think it's my heart.
Evelyn: If I had one more night to live... I'd wanna spend it with you.
__________________________________________________________
Evelyn: Every night I watch the sunset and soak up every last ray of its warmth, and send it from my heart to yours.
_________________________________________________________
Rafe: That's what I want to come home to, that's what I want to have to think about and dream about. I wanna know that the best part of my life is still ahead of me.
Evelyn: You're acting like I didn't love you.
Rafe: Evelyn, loving you kept me alive.
__________________________________________________
Evelyn: You died Rafe. So did I.
__________________________________________________
Danny: You know, the only thing that scares me is that you might love him more than you love me.
Evelyn: I love YOU, Danny.
Admiral Kimmel: The smart enemy attacks you exactly where you think you are safe.
___________________________________________________________
Danny: You're a rotten drunk... always have been.
Rafe: Well, you're a lousy friend... that's a new development.
Evelyn: Rafe I'm pregnant... I didn't even know until the day you turned up alive... and then all this happened... I haven't told Danny... I don't want him to know. All he needs to think about is how to do this mission and get back alive. Oh Rafe, all I ever wanted was for us to have a home and grow old together, but life never asked me what I wanted. Now I'm going to give Danny my whole heart... but I don't think I'll ever look at another sunset without thinking of you... I'll love you my whole life. Rafe: Danny, you can't die. You can't die. You know why? 'Cause you're gonna be a father. You're gonna be a daddy. I wasn't supposed to tell you. You're gonna be a father.
Danny: No, you are.
Evelyn: [voiceover] When the action is over and we look back, we understand both more and less. This much is certain. Before the Doolittle raid, America knew nothing but defeat. After it, there was hope of victory. Japan realized, for the first time, they could lose and began to pull back. America realized, that she would win and surged forward. It was a war, that changed America and the world. Dorie Miller was the first black American to be awarded the Navy Cross. But he would not be the last. He joined a brotherhood of heroes. World War II, for us, began at Pearl Harbor, and 1.177 men still lie entombed in the battleship Arizona. America suffered, but America grew stronger. It was not inevitable. The times tried our souls, and through the trial, we overcame.

{I LOVE this movie. I remember the first time I saw it.
And I remember just wanting to see it over and over again.
I couldn't get enough. Such a great movie!}

Weekend Update

It is Sunday night.
Almost 10 pm and I am so dreading work tomorrow.
Maybe not so much work as the time I have to get up.
And I am already looking forward to the weekend.Tylon's game was on Thursday..THEY WON!
It was an awesome game.
My throat hurt from screaming.

Friday, was pretty busy.
Went to the gym, ran some errands, made cake balls.
Then that night Amanda, Jessica, and I went over to Sam's
to have a little girl's night and watch Hannah Montana.
And see little baby Ethan.

Saturday, my Mom and I went to my cousins bridal shower.
It was so good to see her and all the extended family.
I loved visiting and seeing everyone.
After, Jadon and I ran some errands and then we just chilled at home.
It was great. I think you need those nights every now and then.
There was a fireside tonight.
Some girls and I sang a song...why I get nervous I am not sure.
But I hear it was good.

Overall, it was a very nice weekend.
I am sitting here not understanding guys.
But that's a whole other convo
and I would not even know where to begin on that.
I think I need a miracle.

{Those a just some pics Ty and I took the other day.
I look sickly for some reason. But he is too cute to not post them}

Movie Quote Friday!

Australia

Lady Sarah Ashley: Just because it is, doesn't mean it should be.
Nullah: Mama say, I Galapa. I magic-man. I wizard-man!
Nullah: I sing you to me.
Lady Sarah Ashley: And I will hear you, my darling! Nullah: Mrs. Boss! We gotta get those fat cheeky bulls into that big bloody metal ship!
Drover: We're not really used to...
Lady Sarah Ashley: A woman? I suppose you think I should be back in Darwin, at the church fete or a lady's whatever you call it. Well I will have you know, I am as capable as any man.
Drover: Guests. We're not used to guests is what I was about to say but now that you mention it I happen to quite like the women of the outback.

{I realize there is a lack of quotes for this movie...However, there is quite a plenty of Hugh Jackman. Immediately after watching this movie I wasn't much a fan. But I must say...a bit later...I couldn't stop thinking about it. It really was quite good. Oh...and Hugh aint bad either}

Confession Wednesday

Growing up I always ate my hot dogs the same way.
With ketchup and onions.
That’s it.
Until about 2 years ago.
I was watching Food Network. {of course}
And it was a show about Hot dogs…I think it was Unwrapped.
And I remember them saying that children only eat ketchup and onions on their hot dogs, but adults put everything on it.
I decided then that it was time to become an adult.
Ever since, I put everything on my hot dog…well the normal stuff…added the mustard and relish.
And I must confess. I was seriously missing out!

Remembering

“Where were you when the World stopped turning on that September day?”
-Alan Jackson
I can clearly remember where I was.
I was getting ready for school.
Listening to the radio…Tim and Willy in the morning…
As I was getting ready I remember the second tower being hit.
And I remember the shock of everyone.
Trying to understand what was going on.
I got to school. My A-hour class with Mr. Sorensen {do you remember Stacey?}
He had the TV on.
And the whole hour we watched the coverage.
We watched the Towers fall in disbelief.
That entire day the TV was on in… every class.
I don’t think the teachers really knew what to do.
It was a scary thing. Everyone was so shocked.
My heart went out to all those directly affected.
I think we ALL were affected by it in some way.
And I am grateful for those who have served
and our serving our country during the War on Terrorism.

The previous generation was changed by Pearl Harbor.
Our generation has been changed by the events that happened on September 11, 2001.

Movie Quote Friday!

Ever After

Leonardo da Vinci: You cannot leave everything to Fate, boy. She's got a lot to do. Sometimes you must give her a hand.
____________________________________________________________
Rodmilla: Some people read because they cannot think for themselves.
Rodmilla: You are not my problem anymore.
Danielle: Is that what I am, your problem? I have done everything you've asked me to do and still you deny me the only thing I ever wanted!
Rodmilla: And what was that?
Danielle: What do you think? You are the only mother I have ever known. Was there ever a time, even in its smallest measurement, that you loved me at all?
Rodmilla: How can anyone love a pebble in their shoe?
____________________________________________________
Danielle
: Forgive me, Your Highness, I did not see you.
Henry: Your aim would suggest otherwise.
Henry: Am I to understand that you find me... arrogant?
Danielle: Well, you gave one man back his life but did you even glance at the others?
__________________________________________________________
Danielle: Well you gave one man back his life but did you even glance at the others?
[Danielle tries to get away while Henry is distracted by the criminals' wagon]
Henry: Please, I beg of you. A name. Any name.
Danielle: I fear that the only name I can leave you with is Comtesse Nicole de Lancret.
Henry: There now... that wasn't so hard.
Henry: Mother, Father, I want to build a University, with the largest library on the continent, where anyone can study, no matter their station!
King Francis: All right... Who are you... and what have you done with my son?
Henry: [laughs] Oh, and I want to invite the gypsies to the ball! Danielle: I would rather die a thousand deaths than see my mother's dress on that spoiled, selfish cow!
_________________________________________________________
Henry: I feel as if my skin is the only thing keeping me from going everywhere at once. Henry: Do you really think there is only one perfect mate?
Leonardo da Vinci: As a matter of fact, I do.
Henry: Well then how can you be certain to find them? And if you do find them, are they really the one for you or do you only think they are? And what happens if the person you're supposed to be with never appears, or, or she does, but you're too distracted to notice?
Leonardo da Vinci: You learn to pay attention.
Henry: Then let's say God puts two people on Earth and they are lucky enough to find one another. But one of them gets hit by lightning. Well then what? Is that it? Or, perchance, you meet someone new and marry all over again. Is that the lady you're supposed to be with or was it the first? And if so, when the two of them were walking side by side were they both the one for you and you just happened to meet the first one first or, was the second one supposed to be first? And is everything just chance or are some things meant to be?Danielle: A bird may love a fish, signore, but where will they live?
Leonardo da Vinci: Then I shall have to make you wings.
________________________________________________________
Henry: Hello.
Danielle: Hello.
[pause]
Danielle: What are you doing here?
Henry: [sheepishly] I uh... I came to... rescue you.
Danielle: Rescue me? A commoner?
[starts to walk away]
Henry: [going after her] Actually, I came to beg your forgiveness. I offered you the world and at the first test of honor, I betrayed your trust. Please, Danielle...
Danielle: [stops, turns around] Say it again.
Henry: I'm sorry.
Danielle: No.
[smiles]
Danielle: The part where you said my name.
Henry: [smiling] Danielle.
_______________________________________________________
Henry: I kneel before you not as a prince, but as a man in love... But I would feel like a king if you, Danielle De Barbarac, would be my wife.

Confession Wednesday

You want to know what I am thinking of right now....

Alex: If a guy doesn't call you, he doesn't want to call you.

and more importantly....this....

Gigi: Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up: if a boy punches you he likes you, never try to trim your own bangs, and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. every movie we see, every story we're told implores us to wait for it: the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. but sometimes we're so focused on finding our happy ending we don't learn how to read the signs. how to tell the ones who want us from the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. and maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe it's you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. maybe the happy ending is just moving on. or maybe the happy ending is this: knowing after all the unreturned phone calls and broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment... you never gave up hope.

{once again from here. because yes, I can relate to this movie. and what is going on in it. and I am understanding...that he is just not that interested...and they aren't unless they make a move to show you they are. }

Weekend Update

What a great LONG weekend!
I had an extra long weekend as I had Friday off.

Randon and Callie surprised us and came in town early on Thursday evening. {YAY!} and they were able to stay until Monday afternoon. It was so fun to have them come and play. I loved it!

Friday, Tylon had a came out in Tucson. Mom, Dad, Zach, and I made the car drive there to catch the game. The weather was amazing. And there were no lightning or rain interruptions. Thank heavens. We did not win, sadly, we were so close!

Saturday, was just a nice relaxing day. I did have plans to go out that night but those were interrupted by some horrible abdominal pains. {I am thinking I need my gallbladder removed} Thank heavens that pain went away.

Sunday, I went to a baby blessing and games later that night.

Monday, we chilled and laid back here at home.
IT WAS FANTASTIC!

I am bummed about going back to work {and the gym}
but at least it will be a short work week...

Movie Quote Friday! (on Saturday)

Stick It

Haley Graham: Elite gymnastics is like, the navy seals, only harder. There are like 2000 navy seals, there are only like, 200 elite gymnasts. Guess that's because there's kids who's rather have a life than spend 6 hours a day training tricks that could kill you. Don't be fooled by the leotards people, the things gymnasts do make navy seals look like wusses. And we do them without a gun.
___________________________________________________________
Burt Vickerman: You gonna be ready soon?
Haley Graham: Yup.
Burt Vickerman: You gonna hurt yourself?
Haley Graham: Probably.
Burt Vickerman: Just don't get any blood on the equipment.
Haley Graham: ...Too late!
Haley Graham: Don't worry, my heads up my butt too.
____________________________________________________
Burt Vickerman: Are you gonna learn to control your tricks or do we need to have an ambulance on call?
Haley Graham: Call 'em up.
Burt Vickerman: You're popping your clutch, losing traction.
Haley Graham: I'm not popping shit.
Burt Vickerman: Are you sure?
Haley Graham: I'm so sure I'm practically deodorant.
______________________________________________________
Joanne: You know boys?
Haley Graham: Yeah, they're called friends. You should try it sometime.
Joanne: What's with all the closed captioning? I'm not mute! And GED... what does drunk driving have to do with anything?
______________________________________________________
Haley Graham: If you think that I'm getting on this competition floor with some stupid, watered down, cookie-cutter routine, you are seriously senile.
Poot: Hi, I'm Poot and this is my hetero life mate, Frank.
______________________________________________________
Poot: Dude, how did we not know about this sport?
______________________________________________________
Joanne: Call me!
Poot: Stalk you!
Haley Graham: Stop being so nasty, Joanne.
Joanne: It's not called gym-nice-stics.
_____________________________________________________
Haley Graham: If you're gonna eat mat, you eat mat hard.
_________________________________________________________
Burt Vickerman: Where is this deduction coming from?
Head Vault Judge: Her bra was showing, Burt. It is an automatic deduction if an undergarment is showing, Burt!
Burt Vickerman: She's flipping through the air, Doris, she's spinning! Of course her bra popped out! That rule is ancient!
Head Vault Judge: Apparently so is her bra.
Burt Vickerman: [to Mina] Your bra was showing.
[to audience]
Burt Vickerman: One-tenth off because her bra was showing!
[audience boos]
Joanne: [hugs Mina] Even I think that's low. And I should be happy, I mean, I want to win! Haley Graham: Gymnastics tells you no. All day long. It mocks you over and over again. Telling you you're an idiot. That you're crazy. If you like running full speed towards a stationary object, vault's for you. If you like pealing pieces of skin the size of quarters of your hands... bars is for you. Because the only thing more fun then rips, is when your rips get rips. It's super sexy. And floor, are you serious, I mean who doesn't want to parade around in a leotard getting wedgies and doing dorky choreography? It's delicious. If you like falling, then gymnastics is thee sport for you! You get to fall on your face, your ass, your back, your knees, and your pride! It's a good thing I didn't like falling... I LOVED IT!

Haley Graham: There are things you wish for before big moments. I wish my friends were here. I wish my parents were different. I wish there was someone who got what was happening, and could just look at me and tell me we weren't crazy, that we weren't being stupid. Someone to say "I'm proud of you, and I got your back... no matter what."
