The Trials and travels of the Cachilupis

Long time ago in a far away Kingdom, there lived the Ketchesons. They had just finished a semester of hard but joyous work. To celebrate they were to travel to an ancient city were some of their ancestors lived.
Long they prepared for their journey, they gather fruits, nuts and chocolate. They rolled their garments in sturdy bags and left their palace in the hands of sweet Jlym (names have been changed)

The night before their departure the sweet little princesses giggle with excitement as they were told to sleep. The king and queen were resting their heads when after the twelfth bell ran a message woke them up.
The fluffy white powdery cold substance that many love had created a catastrophe. There in London, the house of the magical inventions that transport royalty from one place to another was closed. It was enchanted by the powdery substance. No one could get to it or out of it.

Their hearts broken and their heads tired, there wasn't much for them to do. Even then the King let the Queen rest some more while he took his magic rectangle in search for ways to a reach their destination.

The sun came out and the little princesses were bouncing with excitement but once they found about the tragedy in London their smiles vanished and their bouncing became a mere drag.

The rest of the morning was spent trying to find anything that would take them where their hearts desire to be, at last their hopes were lost.....but the King became the hero of the story and was triumphant at finding a way for the family to depart and enjoy their vacation.

Now they wait in the ancient city of Cairo, mingling with the Pyramids and the souks.

Soon they will find their relatives....but not until Christmas day...

.......but they are living happily ever after!

Wishing you a Merry Merry one :-) / Este se me olvido traducir, pero vean las fotos he imaginense que dicen, ok :-)

I have been forced to add a new post. I guess some of you were very concerned about David's "email"  and he is finally feeling guilt for his good looks.

I am rather beyond busy BUT have taken a few pictures that I haven't post, so here for you all a few pictures of the decorations in our home, super requested photo of the shinny floors (used to be) and some Christmas ones, in no particular order.
Have a Wonderful Christmas, we love you all (unless we dont' know you, then I wonder how you put up with so much craziness that I write) and wish you the best. Keep coming, my mom will return to my aid and I will hopefully finish catching up on my posts.
:-)
Belkycita, Davicito, Elenita & Victorita
Our cool Arabic clock in our dinning room.

Our stockings, sharing a spot with the plant I care less for but survives better than any of the other ones!!
and do you see the flower bouquet? A dear friend brought it over after the baby shower some friends and I threw for her. Yes, I did put it out of the plastic wrap and all that mess if from the baby shower.
Our lonesome Santa, we keep him away from all the other decorations because I'm afraid the snowman's will take his chocolates away. BACK OFF FROSTY!!! those are OUR chocolates!!!!
TA DA!!!!! we have a piano again!!, it's an electric one though, it just came in a fancy case, but the keys are heavy like a real one.
Pictures of the girls from about 100 years ago. Their smiles are the same, and the happiness the bring into our life has increase more than 100 times.
Our Christmas tree with the shinny floors.  I do not take credit for this, some wonderful guys do it for me and I am planning on ways to adopt them once we go back to the US, although, there isn't anything for them to polish there, David is set on going back to carpets.

These don't need captions!

At a "Holiday" party. The girls made glittery cards and ornaments. I had a shinny face for about a week!
Elena, cannot stop herself from learning. Look at that concentrated face!!!
Victoria on the other hand cannot stop herself from eating cookies! All the kids were playing, running, but her...alone at the cookie table....
It's really hard to make snow balls out of fake snow!
Oh and these!!!! can see you see? can you smell them? They smelled divine and made the whole living room smell divine! ( I can't say the whole house, we would need about 30 of these for that to happen).
MY David brought them home one day just because he could tell I needed a little cheering. and they did the trick :-)

Should I worry about this?

This is an email Mr. Good looking received two days ago.

"Ok this is as bad as it gets I am sitting here with my email open waiting  desperately for you to reply.

And my phone on the other side hoping that if you don’t email me that you will text or call me.

I am debating as whether to even send this to you or not because I don’t want to seem as desperate as I am to hear your voice or even talk to you about anything it does not matter what.
When what I really want to do is to hold you tight even though you said I smell funny, while I caress your face, tell you how special you are to me, how much I love you, and how in love I am with you!!!!!

So here is what I think of when I think of you. Your eyes are beautiful,
your lips are soft and sweet to kiss, your smell is of angels, skin as
smooth as silk, your smile and laugh brightens up the morning sky."

Something tells me the boy might be living a double life. His friend told me that maybe those "conferences" he travels to might not be conferences....
... I really thought marrying a nerdy guy would prevent this kind of situations... I guess the good looks can't be ignored  :-)

****Yes, the email is real, but it was not intended for David, it was emailed to him accidentally. The last names are some what similar. I'm pretty sure he's never said to a girl that she smells funny.*****

Happy Holidays :-)

China & Los Roques

Thanks for the responses, I am glad you can all see my blog again. I also wanted to say that even though I want your addresses I didn't mean to send that as a publicity for Shutterfly. I mean I am doing publicity already but I didn't mean to sound like, "yeah come and see THIS and buy it!!!" You know what I mean right?

Anyway! Way back in June (yes, I know the summer is long gone but what can I say, I like to think of me as a slow poke!) David left Venezuela for ten days and attended a conference in China. Even though he was there for 10 days (including traveling time) he only had one day to do some sight seeing and he chose the GREAT WALL.

He walked up some of the Wall.

And he decided this was the way to go down.
One thing that he mentioned was, that all the ladies that he saw had umbrellas that matched their outfits :-)
He had a great experienced with his taxi driver whom taught him acupuncture. In case you don't know my boy is terrified of needles, so the demonstration made him a little light headed,  but he walked out with a packet of needles just in case he wanted to try it for himself.

When he came back he kidnapped me and took me to Los Roques

There are So many of these shells that they made a little Christmas tree out of them.

We saw this little guy fetching his dinner, he had a spool of fishing line, a hook and some little fishes he caught with a small cup by the boats.
At the end he looked like Gollum banging the fish against the sand to kill them. He got two, and went home to fry them.
Hey Dude!
They have a preservation of sea turtles, we can see them but not touch them. They had about 4 different species.
Tienen una preservacion de tortugas marinas. Tenian como 4 differente especies.
A few more trying to get dinner but noticed the lazy Pelicans just waiting for the fishes to bite the bait and then snatch them from  the kids  lines.

The hotel's manager was an Italian former NYC chef and treated us to a very nice dinner every night. This was the "Special" one. On our plates you will be see Ceviche de Batuto. Look it up I can't, I'm avoiding it. I ate it and then found out what it was and went straight to the bathroom.
Excuse the creepy look, I was getting a cold.
Spaghetti with Oyster sauce. SO YUMMY!!!! Only Italians really know how to cook pasta.
Espaguetti con salsa de Ostra. DIVINO!!!!
Our last morning there we found the fattest star fishes ever! they were prickly and really heavy.
Here I am with the cousin of the guy I had for dinner the night before. Sorry dude!!!
The sign at the entrance of the park and the guy pushing our luggage to the little airplane back home.

Holidays made easier!!

I didn't grow up sending Christmas cards, it isn't something common is South America, we just took food to our friends :-)

But almost 9 years ago I married my gringo and him and his family is BIG in Chirstmas cards. I absolutely fell in LOVE with the idea and tried my best to send them out after we married.
Two years ago, life got busy and I forgot to send them and I've been trying to get back to doing it but it seems SO hard!!

Not anymore!! with Shutterfly Christmas Photo cards I can share a bit of our family adventures and our love for family and friends.
I have used Shutterfly before to make calenders, memory books, and fun mugs for family and friends. Those are some of the favorite gifts our loved ones have received and I can't wait to hear what they say when they get my cards.
Their Holiday cards are so full of color and they have so many different designs to suit every style. If only David and I could agree on the same one!
One of the greates features for us is the "we'll mail them for you" We live far away and mailing cards can get tricky so this is a GREAT way to keep our family and friends updated.

I've chosen the pictures, now all I have to do is add all those addresses so, shoot me an email with your current address I would appreciated :-)

The party! / La fiesta!

We all know her birthday happened so long ago people are going to look at the blog and say "What?! didn't I read about this when I was a little girl/boy?!!"
To you I say.......cut me some slack, would ya?! I mean, it's not Nov 2011, so I'm ok.

Meet Frosty, he is the healthiest snowman alive!!! those on his head are prunes, apricots, raisins and carrots. The other part of his body is chubbier because of all the candy. We tried to talk to him but he didn't take us seriously.
Snowman station. The girls were supposed to color their snowman for about 20 minutes or so, or at least until everyone arrived......Guess what? they took at whole 3 minutes to do it!
Posing like princesses and dogs respectively.
Posando como princesas y perro respectivamente.

I just wonder. What is SHE doing?!!
Yo me pregunto, Que esta haciendo esa muchacha?!!!
Playing, Snowman tag! I would like to point out that Elena picked and invented all games and activities for her party.
I can truly say the could NOT see anything. The buttons were on the other wall that leads to the garage!! how did they go so far?
They had to fix it, they could NOT just leave him all messed up. They tried different ways to position everything but this was their favorite.
Ian, Cortney, I know what you are thinking!!! stop!

Do you really want me to explain?.....
De verdad necesitan explicacion?!!
