Blowing bubbles and splashing make us feel good...

...and so does hanging from furniture.

Brian at play in D.C.

A humongoid thanks to our good friends Jamie, Jessica and their sweet and sparkly twins, Soren and Asher, for showing Brian a great time (taking him hiking and to yummy places to eat, etc.) while he was in D.C. for a conference. (For the record, he did actually attend the conference but got in some very fun play time as well.) Of course, it would have been extra great if he had dragged the fam along with him, but at least we got to hear stories and see some fun photos. Check out these flirty looks--first Mr. Asher with the cap and then Soren clearly content to be with his momma!
...but not so content with dad! Well, that's the price you menfolk pay for not trying harder to lactate.
Thanks again, Jamie and Jessica for taking care of Brian--we wish we didn't live so far apart!

a wee smattering of summer events in our life-type-lives...

We are settled back in after being gone for half of June and a big chunk of July.

Our adventures in Utah while staying with Baba and Popi (Brian's parents) included smooshing lots of watermelon into our mouths...smirking on camp chairs in the woods...meeting Elliot Jones...being incognito...visiting and eating and visiting some more with relatives...hiking and exploring and fishing with our buddies...playing with some of our best buddies from Atlanta (the Shills and Vaughn and Margaret)...and just generally hanging around...

Then in July we met up with the Allen gang (Kelli's family) in Sedona, Arizona. We swam at Red Rock Crossing...hiked West Fork Canyon (the kids loved wading through the water!)...had lots of fun with the diaper box (Otis and Beau loved getting rides from Reid)...took lots of family photos...and got to play with our cousins up in Flagstaff (including our cousin Amy and her family from Hawaii)...

So there you have it--our summer vacations in a very huge, photo-intensive nutshell.
