Stitches

So I was finally able to find Bug's hiding spot where he hid the tongue depressor that had his stitches on it. Several people have asked to see...so here it is. They look like tiny blue bugs. ICK!!

This is why....

You know how you always tell the kids.."Don't play at the dinner table"? I should have taken my own advice. Last Thursday Bug and I were goof'n at the table and a chair fell on him and he had to have 6 stitches. The doctor said if it had hit him any harder the cut would have been down to the skull. I won't gross you with all the gory details, but I will tell you this. It was gushing and squirting so bad I nearly fainted. LOL We called grammy and she came with us. She held his hand the whole time and Bug didn't even flinch. He thinks he's way cool though. We went back to the ER today and he had them taken out. He thought they were so cool he asked if he could keep the stitches. So the nurse put them on a tounge depressor with tape and now he has his stitches. Can we say GROSS. LOL So now when your kids are goof'n at the table and won't listen to what can happen, show them Bugs pic. They'll get the hint. :)

Christmas

Christmas was so small and quiet this year, I didn't think to blog. Oops The kids had a nice Christmas as did Keith and I. We got up at 7:30 and opened presents. We were so wrapped up in watching the kids, we both forgot to take pics of them opening them. LOL And it was Adam's first Christmas where he understood there were presents for him. It was so cute. He'd wait so patiently for his turn. He'd put the present in his lap and wait with a big cheesy grin. As soon Bug was done, he'd rip off the paper and scream in excitement. I had a headache by the time the presents were opened. LOL
We did more homemade gifts this year than any other year I can remember. I made our stockings and then Bug's Christmas Eve jammies. I had pics of the kids in their Christmas Eve jammies and I think it got deleted. So you'll have to look at these pics I'm bloggn'. Sorry. But I had fun making Bug's jammie bottoms. It was such an easy pattern, I'm going to have to make some more :) I did have some for Keith and Adam, but wasn't able to get them done since I was working on so many homemade gifts. So Adam's jammies were store bought. I had so much fun making people's presents this year. I made my dad a Red Sox blanket out of fleece, made mom a whole bunch of rice packs to help with her arthritis. I made frames with vinyl lettering for sister's in law and some family other family members. For my siblings I made homemade cinnamon rolls that raise in the fridge over night, so they could bake them on Christmas morning. YUM!! That was one of Keith's favorite traditions growing up and he and I have been doing it for most of the years we've been married. I liked it so much that I wanted to pass it to my siblings. Notice the Lego table...homemade by yours truly. We found that table on KSL and I took the whole table apart (looks can be deceiving. That sucker was a pain to take apart. LOL), hand sanded the whole thing, made adjustments on it and to it, painted it, put it back together and glued on the green Lego pads. It has been one of Bug's favorite gifts.

Apparently, Keith and Adam were tired from opening all the presents. LOL

We LOVE puzzles and this is one my sister Kirsten and her family gave us. We've already put it together 3 times. :) I love how it's such a bonding kind of thing.

Candy makn'

Every year us girls have a tradition. We go over to mom's and make yummy candy. This year we all got so involved, we all forgot to take pics. LOL So this is it. So we made peanut brittle, toffee, candy cane bark, tofee bark, all sorts of yummy fudges, and peacan logs. Mom tried two new ones this year...almond joys and snickers bites. YUMMY!!! I love this tradition. It's one of the only times we girls get to bond. Notice the kids hangn' around. They were all trying to sneak their little fingers into some yummy goo. We caught most, but not all. :)
