Lucky 5

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Who Said Walking Was Boring...

There Tricia and I are walking at 6am. We're chatting about life, kids, you name it. Near the last stretch of our walk, Tricia spots a young man with no jacket and no shoes walking towards us (not to mention that he wreaks of alcohol). As he approaches, he slows down and begins to ask us directions to Nellis AFB. We are baffled and kinda look at each other like, "is he serious?"

After a couple of minutes chatting, we discover that he's a Senior Airmen in the Air Force, just got back from deployment a week ago, and walked out of his friend's house because of a dispute over a girl. I get info about his squadron and call them explaining the situation we are so unexpectedly faced with. The Sergeant proceeds to give us the number to a local cab company so this kid can get home.

We call the cab company and was told that it'll be there in 10-30 minutes. It's cold outside so I give the kid my jacket and meanwhile he's apologizing to us for interfering with our daily routine. Tricia's kids and my kids are calling asking us where we are, if we're okay, and letting us know that their morning tasks are done. I call Brad to give him the low down of what's going on. All this while waiting for the cab company which still is a no-show. Finally, we call the company and the first driver never called in so they were sending another one.

After 2 hours of waiting around, the 2nd cab guy called and wasn't even anywhere near us. He was all the way on Pecos and Tropicana. We finally decided to take the kid ourselves to his place which was a total of 10 minutes.

Finally, Tricia brought me home and tried to help get my cars started (Brad text that the battery was dead in the Civic and I could rehook the cables to the battery in the Rodeo). After moving bikes and squeezing through all the crap in the garage, it was a total bust.

It was the most unexpected, interesting, and frustrating walk I've ever had. For our reward in our good deed, Tricia and I are going to enjoy lunch at Cafe Rio. After this morning, we definitely deserve it!

Patriotism Through Cake

Brad's squadron had a fundraiser on Friday and one of the events was a cake auction.. because I love her to death and admire her work, I hired my friend, Melanie, to make a cake for me. It was more amazing then I could have imagined and thank her so much for all her hard work (Brad wanted to keep it for himself).

And So It Begins...

This is the beginning of 2 years of perfection. We've decided to do R-brackets that are a little more expensive but will move the teeth quicker just in case we PCS before treatment is over. The kids are disappointed that they don't get the fun, colored bands but their smile will be more amazing than they already are. "Brace Faces" will begin on President's day.

You Know Your A Mom When...

1. A good night's sleep means you didn't have to get up with a sick kid and clean puke off the bed.

2. You take your kids to school and you forgot to put on a bra.

3. You run to the grocery store to pick up milk and forgot to change out of your slippers.

4. Your consider your child's room decent if it doesn't smell.

5. You take a shower and scrub all the spots your kid missed the evening before.

6. You get a "clean" dish from the dishwasher and get excited because you didn't have to scrub the dried up food your kids didn't pre-scrub.

7. You go on a romantic date with your spouse and have nothing to talk about except your kids.

8. Your "romantic" date means you go to Walmart with your spouse for groceries WITHOUT your kids!

9. You tell your kids what their chores are more than 10 times a day.

10. Your taking a shower, scrubbing the soap scum, and come up with a post about what it means to be a mom.

Oh, the daily blessings of being a mom.

Tax Refund Pay Day

It's here! The much anticipated tax refund was deposited into my account today! And it's all because of me (and a little Brad). Too bad I can't spend a cent on a new bed-darn kids and needing braces! I could spend the whole thing in 1 day by myself!

My Cherished Ankle Bracelet

I have been wearing the same ankle bracelet for 7 years. I made it from a kit my friend gave Erika for her birthday several years ago. It's made with regular fishing wire and the tiniest little beads. I LOVE IT! It matches everything I wear and doesn't bother me in the slightest. This morning when I was taking off my socks (I walk every morning at 530am), it broke! Talk about heart broken. To many, it's just a bracelet but to me it's my "security blanket" so to speak. Thank goodness the beads remained on the split wire and the few that broke off were in the sock. I immediately got more wire from the tackle box and rebeaded my bracelet. I feel like I didn't even skip a beat (I know, I'm weird).

Facts About Yours Truly

1. I love "Top Ramen" noodles for breakfast. I don't know if it's because I grew up eating it (for those who don't know, I'm half Thai) and it's the budget way to have semi-asian food. Who knows.

2. I use to slightly close my eyes driving past Semi's while traveling. They are GINORMOUS and I've always been afraid the trucker will fall asleep at the wheel and run right over me. I've gotten better since I got yelled at by Brad-he's in to safety, go figure.

3. When I do the dishes at my mom's, she has two silverware trays in the drawer. I make sure that each section on the trays (forks, spoons) are equal in height. It makes my cringe if they aren't!

4. I twist my hair into knots when I'm tired or relaxed. I've done it since I was a baby.

5. My favorite toy growing up was a little Cinderella pillow and a pink rattle doll named Dolly. I don't know what happened to the pillow but still have my doll.

6. I have a total of 5 tattoos but was in the process of burning 2 off before we were stationed out of Utah. All I have to say is it hurts like h*ll and think twice before getting one!

7. When I was little and we were stationed in Japan, I stole these little girl's play high heel shoes. It was pouring outside and I snuck out and got them. I don't remember if I got caught but they were too cute to resist.

8. I hit my brother, Joel, over the head with my baby doll's stroller and cut it open. He wanted my baby and even though I said no, he took her anyway. My mom beat the crap out of me! She also beat my older brother because he laughed while I was getting a spanking and Joel was crying.

9. In Germany, I won "Duchess" in 6th grade and "Princess" in 7th grade at my Junior High's homecoming dance. We were PCSing to Texas before I had the chance for Queen. Some say I would've gotten the crown. I always knew I was royalty!

10. I was a cheerleader in Germany and my team was #1 out of all the American teams. I must admit, we were pretty awesome!

11. I did the "Ocean Wave" bang loaded with tons of hairspray. I remember it rained while I was walking with my friends and my bangs were dripping white, thick water. It was humiliating.

12. My favorite part about my body is my feet. They are fairly small (7 1/2) and are the skinniest thing on me. If only the skinniness spread 3 feet above!

13. I snore. No need for elaboration.

14. I never snuck out when I was a teenager. Even though I got pregnant, it was during regular hours.

15. I was 5 months pregnant with Erika when I walked to get my high school diploma.

16. I can sing all 50 states in alphabetical order.

17. I can touch the tip of my nose with my tongue.

18. I can still bend forward and touch my toes.

19. I call my parents mommy and daddy. You're never to old in my book.

20. I'm definitely a morning person. By the evening, I'm mean and snap at my family about anything-I suck.

21. I still watch "Saved by the Bell". Go ahead...laugh!

22. I was completely blank on writing a post but thought I'd talk about all the things that make me, ME!
