Reagan

I'm pretty sure everyone knows by now that my little Reagan passed away on Sunday, June 15th. It was Father's Day and the day before mine and Justin's 1 year anniversary. Regean was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in April. He had started to get better with medication after having a stroke and not being able to move his front right arm. The doctor said he would eventually die from CHF. It was only a matter of time. I just wish I could've been here with him. I was in Boulder with my cheerleaders for camp and Justin was at work. Josh (Justin's brother) found Reagan outside on the side of the deck while he was staying at our house with Tyson. He had had another stroke and now couldn't move his back legs. His breathing got worse as it did in April with the first stroke. I was asked if I wanted him taken to the Vet. I figured that it was his time and I wanted him to be at home where he's more comfortable. My dad checked on Reagan on Sunday morning. He was sleeping. Sunday afternoon he had gone.

Reagan was a TOTAL momma's boy. He would sit and/or lay with Justin but only if momma wasn't home. Reagan was my first "real" pet. He was given to me in May of 2004. His brother Carter lives with my then roomate Megyn. Megyn and I bottle fed Reagan and Carter. They were the cutest brothers!

Reagan, you will be missed always. I love you!

2008-2009 Doherty Cheerleaders

Jennifer told me lastnight that I should blog about my cheerleaders. Here they are at camp in June. I'm missing 3 in this picture. There are 37 all together this year. 20 on Varsity. 17 on JV. Lucky for me this year, I have a coaching staff. As most of you know, I was pretty much the only coach all year last year. It was very stressful being that JV and Varsity both competed. JV competed at the NCA Mile High Regional Competition. Varsity went to Regionals, Leauge, State, and Nationals. Yes, I went as the only coach to California with my girls. Luckily I had several parents with me as well.

Anyhow, these are the girls for this year. They are a wonderful group of girls. They attended 2 stunt camps, UCA camp, and their routine camp this summer. They also had carwashes, worked Sky Sox, and had a lock-in at the school. I have heard from several people that this squad is better than what they've seen at Doherty in a long time. I truly believe that statement. I'm looking forward to blogging about the girls this year. Go Spartans! :)

New to blogging

This is my first time as a blogger, if I'd even consider myself one. I'm not sure how this will go or if I'll have time, but I am willing to try. Many of my friends blog and have requested that I participate. Only thing is, I feel like neither Justin or I have much to say. Most blogs I see are for people who have children. We are far from that. I guess this blog will be about our lives before little ones. Maybe one day I'll have a new post about being pregnant. :) For now I guess it will just be about our pets and ourselves. Happy reading!
