April Sketch Over At Crafty Sketches...

Yay! It's April Sketch time over at Crafty Sketches. I hope you'll come and play? It's a great sketch - open to interpretation, with so many possibilities.
I definitely had fun with it. :-)

This month's sketch was designed by Design Team member Kim Kendall.
All the details to join in the fun, and play, can be found here.

Here's my take on the sketch. Titled: First Camp. To be honest, most of this layout was created from left over bits and pieces. My bowl of left-over odds and ends was getting full, so I decided to throw them all together, and see what I could create. This is the end result. Nice and bright, isn't it? LOL!!! Oh, and yes, I got some new Washi tapes to play with - aren't they yummy.

Crafty Sketches - March 2012 Sketch

I've been designing sketches again. It was my turn to design a sketch for Crafty Sketches. All I can say is, this one is REALLY a challenge, lol!

Crafty Sketches March Sketch - designed by Jules (That's me!!!).
I love banners, so I decided to make the most of them, with not one row of banners, but three!!! I warned you it was a challenge! :-)

And this is my interpretation of my sketch - "Like Day & Night".
The rest of the Crafty Sketches Design Team (and Guest Designer) did an amazing job with this sketch. Just click here to see their work, and receive a whole lot of inspiration. If you would like to have some fun and play with us, all the details can be found on the Crafty Sketches blog.
Products Used: Echo Park "This & That Graceful" papers and stickers; Imaginarium Designs chipboard; Magnolia chandelier piece; Prima flowers; Kasiercraft rhinestones; The Twinery twine; and Ranger Embossing Glitter.

Crafty Sketches January Challenge

The January Sketch is up over at Crafty Sketches. This month's sketch was designed by the wonderful Annette Gearside.
All the details for the January Sketch can be found here. I hope you will pop on over and check out the awesome Design Team creations. They have definitely been busy this month!!!
It's such a great sketch - so I decided to have some fun with it. Here's my take. Titled: To Awake. My eldest daughter actually took the photo on a school excursion, but it suited my theme perfectly. My need to "awaken" and make some changes in my life.

Bad Scrapper!!!

I'm so sorry! I know, I've been a very bad scrapper neglecting my blog. Believe me, it's not intentional - because all I WANT to do is sit down and scrap, but life has other ideas at the moment (like creating kits for the store, and packing for our move to Adelaide). But maybe this will make up for it?
Here's the December sketch for Crafty Sketches (created by Kim Kendell). Just click on the link if you want to play - all the details are on the blog.
And here's what I was inspired to create. This is a layout about my baby brother, who is now a proud daddy (which still seems surreal to me at times - my baby brother is a father!!!). I don't do masculine pages often, but I really enjoyed the process of creating this one. It was very unexpected. :-)

Crafty Sketches In November...

The November Sketch is up over at Crafty Sketches. This is such a fun sketch. I just adore it! There is so much room for interpretation.
If you would like to join in the fun, just click here for details.
This is what I came up with! Love, love, love the colour!!! Don't know what it is at the moment, but all my layouts seem to feature yellow, orange or red. Must be a phase I am going through? I've used lots of Sassafras goodies for this layout (papers, stickers, Foldies, paper flowers). And lots of stitching for texture (and because I haven't played with my sewing machine for ages...it feels neglected, lol!). Titled: Love This Girl.

Crafty Sketches October Challenge...

I'm a little slow posting this, but better late than never!!! This is the October Sketch Challenge for Crafty Sketches.
Here's my interpretation of the sketch. I had a play with the new ScrapCake papers. They are very beautiful papers, good quality too. But I'm still undecided on whether they suit my style of scrapping. For me, the jury is still out, lol!
A close-up of my journalling. (-;
My new favourite embellishment - the die cut rosette from Tim Holtz. So, so addictive. Definitely can't live without it. It's on my must have at all times list.

Crafty Sketches June Sketch Challenge...

Woo-hoo! It's the start of a new month, so we have a new sketch for you up at Crafty Sketches. This lovely sketch was designed by Eve. Don't forget to join and the fun and link your creation to Mr Linky before the end of the month.

Here's my take on the sketch. Titled: Pose And Click. I've used the Noel Mignon "Mary Ellen" kit to create this layout (plus same Hambly Washi tape). And that wood grain paper is growing on me - I think I'm now addicted to it, lol! (-: Happy scrapping everyone!
