torn between two...

weddings...

Michael, my longtime high school buddy, whom i have seen last in our HS reunion way back December 2002, has been getting in touch with me since last year and telling me that he'll be getting married this year, May 19 to be exact, and he's been telling me that i'm one of his secondary sponsors. Our friendship goes way back high school years, we've been together for most of our school activities, we sleep in one room during high school retreats together with our barkada and we were all together in applying for college in Manila... rode bus together, go malling together, and even go group dates with our respective HS crushes together.. woah... those were the days. and so we all are looking forward to his BIG DAY on May.

Bernie, my best friend cousin and my kababata, is tying the knot ahead of me! he's getting me as his best man. he and his girlfriend's BIG DAY will be on the 19th of May this year. hmm... noticed something? yea. they are getting married on the same date! i don't even wanna choose coz i am eager to attend both weddings.

now what?

wtf?

while on my way to the office, i was driving with my gurL and we were tuned in to the FM radio station. a news break was aired and one story was about former senator Tessie Aquino-Oreta (TAO) quoted saying she (TAO) could have set aside her senatorial ambition if her niece, Kris Aquino, was the one who filed candidacy to run for senator instead of the latter's brother, Noynoy. TAO justified her statement in saying that Kris is smart, and that whenever she does something, she puts her whole heart and mind to it so it would be fitting for her to be in the senate.

photo (above) was searched from google.com.ph

on another note, i've seen Kris doing campaign for his brother Noynoy in the latter's political ad on TV. Can't these senatoriables encourage the people to vote for them without using too much personalities? action speaks louder than words. how ever the promises sound so good, in the end you'll never know if they can live up to their promises until they have proven their worth. whose going to be fooled by these ads?

an honest to goodness question

guys, i honestly need to understand this:
Why are so many people disliking Prospero Pichay?

I'm posting this for two reasons: 1) i'm not very familiar with the guy; and, 2) i'd want to know why the guy is being prejudged by most pinoys.

i'm overdue

to date, this is my longest stay in a company as an employee. if we only have our own family business (or better yet, if i have my own business), i wouldn't have to be a slave of the 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm daily shift.
i used to love job hopping from one company to another as i have previously validated that i have a one-year syndrome in terms of employment. i don't know if it sounds good but most probably, for employers, it isn't. anyway, i'm gaining knowledge everytime i leave an institution, and years of experience aren't diminishing.

our company just officially started last May 2005. excluding our GM, we started out as a very small group, to name:

Des - Sales Director
Mike - Area Manager
Anoy - Area Manager
Emily - Finance & Admin Manager
Didi - Sales Coordinator
Jon - Sales Coordinator

a few months before we all got regularized, an Area Manager was terminated and was replaced by CJ. We then hired an Accounting Assistant as our transactions grow and I, assisting in the admin function, short-listed Bhea among the many applicants. Eventually she was hired.

before the end of the year, we added another Area Manager who is to handle the key accounts and the NCR in the person of Ramil. The personnel remained until we transferred to our new and permanent location in Libis.

Having a person overseeing the NCR and key accounts, we launched a new project called Special Distribution Team which is more known as the SDT. This added two more workforce in the company by the names of Paulo & Albert. Even before transferring to the new office, Didi already has plans of disengaging with the company. This coincided with the time when the company is in need of a Marketing person who will do the "numbers" for the monthly performance report and other data that will be needed in the improvement of our coverage. Avy was hired as the first Marketing person of the company. Then in replacement for Didi, Lorraine filled-in.

Lorraine didn't last a good number of weeks and so i was left alone in the task of attending to all distributors' orders. Avy helped out. By this time, Albert & Mike were confirmed to go overseas on their respective countries of destination: Albert is leaving for overseas job opportunity, while Mike was forced to leave due to family immigration. I continue to process the job advertising for the company and also schedule interviews of applicants--- an ALL vacancies, whenever there's a position to fill in. Priority wise, we rushed in the hiring of the Area Manager position then the company had Bodj. Then Arjay completed the missing slot in the SDT.

The company continues its expansion. Choy was initially hired as the first ever company consultant. Weeks passed, for only the company knows, Emily was replaced by Chona a few weeks after Avy left, who, on the other hand was replaced by Richard. By this time, Paulo took a step forward and have to leave the company so Arjay has to fill in every accounts made by the SDT. Arjay didn't do quite good on his job so he was terminated a few days later. SDT became stagnant for about a month while Kristine joined the company to fill in the long-vacant post left out by Lorraine. The need to closely monitor the areas nationwide continues so Luzon was finally split into two area managers and ideally, it was realized when Joejoe complemented Bodj in handling the Luzon area while CJ remains the overseer for VisMin.

After the pressure from the principal company, the SDT regained it's life upon the hiring of Paul & James.

Now, as i write this blog entry, another area manager is about to leave us for personal reasons. as i have said, if not for my pending application going elsewhere, i could have left the company earlier and transferred to another. i even am considering the idea of living my future life somewhere in the Visayas region. Ahh... maybe the movie character Forrest Gump is right in saying that "Life is like a box full of chocolates--- you'll never know what you're going to get (next)." well, life's like that. people come and go. and anyway, change is the only permanent thing in this world.

Grow Old With You

[Billy Idol (Speaking):] Good afternoon everyone.
We're flying at 26,000 feet, moving
up to thirty thousand feet, and then we've got clear skies
all the way to Las Vegas, and right now we're bringin you some in-flight
entertainment. One of our first-class passengers has written a song
inspired by one of our coach passenger, and since we let our first-class
passengers do pretty much whatever they want, here he is.

[Robbie Hart (Singing):]
I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

sabi sa blog ko...

(click photo to enlarge)

money down the drain

for two days (yesterday and today), i've spent a whooping five thousand one hundred seventy eight pesos and twenty five cents for the maintenance and repair of our dear Mitsubishi L300 van.
i was supposed to have its oil changed only but in the course of bringing it to the auto center, i've decided to have its wheel aligned as well. i was experiencing something unusual in our vans front wheels upon turning the steering wheel. and i'm right. the center post, idler bushing, and bell crank need to be replaced. i also had one tire vulcanized. 4 mags were also balanced and break pads were checked. while i'd like to cry all day for the total cost of all these, i just consider it necessary for my (and my passengers) safety. i drive the van everyday anyway (except Tuesdays dahil coding ako pag Tuesday).

so, what really is the above-subject for? well, it's about having our L300 van brought to a car wash establishment, have a body wash for P120 plus engine wash at P150, then after driving away from the car wash for about a few minutes, rain came down pouring. what a waste of money. i'm talking about the body wash. so this afternoon, i took time to rewash our van eventhough my body was craving for an afternoon sleep.

blog world

Main Entry: blog
Part of Speech: n
Definition: an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called [Weblog], [Web log]
Etymology: shortened form of Weblog
[from dictionary.com]

it's been four years since i've started this thing here on blogger. looking back, the first reason that made me have this online diary is to be able to talk to myself again, being the loner that i used to be, loving to contemplate on things on my own, reflecting on life--- what it offers and what it can still offer. at first, i was hesitant to publicize this blog and keep the link to just a few very close friends. Until I realize it's too empty not to have a two-way communication: people who can share what they feel with what you are currently feeling, people who can give you good insights about a certain subject, people who can inspire you when you feel down, people who are simply there, journeying with you everyday whether you are up or you are down.

so i decided to have this personal blog an "open journal" for everyone of my good friends to be posted on what i've been doing lately, and for some people who wish to remain unknown and just stalk around. but keeping my privacy, i've made another blog which up to date remains undisclosed to most of my friends--- it contains the other side of me, more about my spiritual life. then reaching out to my brethren on the other side of the globe, i've decided to put up my xanga.com account and make it as a home for [mostly] inspirational messages coming from my email & mobile inbox. i do input original compositions some time, making it different from this personal blog.

through blogging, i was introduced to some people who i haven't met personally but somehow connected with them because of this "blog ring". i've seen a good number of blogs, read a good number of interesting ones and this somehow makes the bloggers emphatize with one another. blogs come in different themes, some would want theirs to look like an MP3 page with complete library of songs and a music video playing on the sidebar, some blogs are too plain but when it comes to postings are 'meaty'. some blogs are very artistic when it comes to layout, colors. Photoblogs are also available. Shared blogs, secret blogs (which authors prefer to remain unknown), detailed blog (where the author can be easily stalked by strangers), happy blog, sentimental blogs, blogs that talk about everything politics, tourism, travel, and many more.

among the many blog slogans i have encountered, my most favorite one is this: "i write to express, not to impress." somehow, it sums up the sole reason of having a blog--- to have something that'll serve as an outlet when you can not keep everything that burden you to yourself, you just have to let it out.

the most interesting part a blogger can get as a consolation for blogging? looking back at your past. the times when you almost felt it's the end of everything, now you are just smiling at yourself after "x" years into that situation.

Happy 4th year anniversary, 03.03.03 stories...

thanks to everyone for keeping me company throughout these years.
