Halloween-What a Day!

We started the day off by taking a trip to Woodland Park. I couldn't believe this beautiful park was only about 5 miles from where we lived! The ducks and geese came running to us right when we got out of the car. It was kind of freaky, but Jacob was so pumped. He started running right to them too, like a romantic movie. The geese were kinda scary though, they were hissing at us if Jacob got too close. They were pretty dissapointed that we didn't have a loaf of bread to give them. Next time for sure we will be bringing bread. The sun came out at a perfect time, it has been raining here every single day!! It stopped for a while this morning, then came back, and now it's raining. I'm so glad it didn't rain during Trunk-or-Treating at the church. Jacob loved his costume. He hated it at first, but that was because it was too big, so after I rolled the sleeves and the legs, he didn't want to get out of it. When we got back from the church, Jacob wanted to go get the mail in it, and sit on the grass, and pet the neighbors dog, and play with his green ball in it. It was a great day. I'm so glad that the church was doing the trunk-or-treat, because we probably would have just gone to a couple of neighbors on our street. Jacob was unsure, of course, of the whole thing, but he was pretty excited about getting free candy from all these people. One lady thought he was so cute, she took a picture of him. Weird? Yeah, but all in all, it was a lot of fun. Crazy geese.
Jacob kept trying to sneek closer and closer to the water. I kept asking him where the ducks were and he kept pointing and "telling" me where they were.

Once Jacob saw all the other kids, he darted for the candy. I had to run in front of him to try and get a picture with a smile.
You see the red dot on his head? Between his eyes? He tripped and landed right on a lego this morning. And, where the hat is covering his forehead, he has two red dots from the lego imprint.

We used a pillowcase that my mom sent in the mail for Jacob. Thanks mom! It worked great, and now Jacob gets to sleep with it.

This is the only picture I could get of him by his pumpkin smiling! He has three M&M's in his mouth, because I had to keep feeding them to him to get him to sit.

Pumpkin Carving!

Jacob and I finally got around to carving a pumpkin... today. The day before Halloween. We'll keep it out for at least a week... maybe until Thanksgiving... just kidding. Jacob loved it! He especially loved playing with the seeds and guts. We picked out and found a perfect pumpkin at Smith's. They were super cheap, which made me super excited to get one! We haven't lit it up yet, but we will for Halloween. I'm so excited to put Jacob in his costume. Pictures to come. I wanted to break these two posts up, because I know tomorrow I'll have a ton of pictures that I'll want to share. We're really enjoying Kalispell. Thanks to our awesome neighbors, they've become great friends and it's made the move a lot easier. We also got a webcam, which has been great! Jacob loved talking to grandma and grandpa on the computer today. It was really cute, he couldn't stop smiling, then he kept kissing the keyboard?... weird, but adorable. He's just a kissing monster I guess.

Before carving. Jacob loves pumpkins, no matter where we go if he sees a pumpkin at the grocery store, or anything resembling a pumpkin, he points and jibber jabbers. Playing with the guts and seeds. Our New Place!

Well, we're in our new place in Montana! I can't believe we're here. It feels like we're just visiting and that we'll go back home soon. Jacob really loves his new room. When we first walked inside, Jacob started dancing and twirling around, then ran down the hall, like he had been here many times before and sat on the floor in his room. We didn't even have any furniture or anything in there. It was so funny. Thanks to my dad and Jon-Jon, we made it all here with one big load. We really miss all the family from home, but we really like our ward here and we're really excited to participate in everything and go to the trunk-or-treat this Saturday!When we were unloading, Jacob wanted to sit down with grandpa, so I ran and got my camera and this is what Jacob did when he saw me coming back! He wanted to give grandpa a big kissThis is our view of the mountains in town! Isn't it beautiful? It hasn't snowed since I've been here, but it has rained every single day.On Saturday we went on a road trip past Hungry Horse up into the mountain. It was about a two hour drive up a bumpy dirt/muddy road. The ride back was a lot faster and only took about an hour and a half. On the way back down we saw a big female moose and two white tailed deer! They were right in the middle of the road. The moose just walked off the road, but we almost hit the deer, because they darted right in front of the truck from out of the trees.Here's a really pretty canyon that we saw on the way back down the mountain. Jacob loved all the rocks on the trail. He almost had to pick up and show us every big rock he found.

Finally, this is Jacob with the dishwasher tray, he loves it! Everytime I try to do dishes, he grabs it out and carries it around the house. Oh, yeah, did I forget to mention that WE HAVE A DISHWASHER!!!??? I'm really excited about that, if you can't tell. :)

Sewing With Grandma

Jacob pretty much loves whatever my mom is doing, whether it is drying tomatoes (which he loves to eat, dried tomatoes) or sewing the crotch in my jeans. He also loves to be naked, so he was pretty much in Heaven for these few minutes.

Pumpkin Pickin'

We went over to some friend's house yesterday and picked some pumpkins. Jacob kept picking the pumpkins then throwing them down because he didn't like how pokey the stems were. So, I had to end up taking a stem off of his favorite one, because he kept picking it up then freaking out. My mom had to help me get Jacob to smile, since he hasn't had any interest in smiling at the camera when it's just me anymore. I knew that day would come, I didn't think it would come so soon.

Then, Jacob kept taking some dry grass that was next to the pumpkins and putting it on top of his pumpkin like hair. I was laughing so hard, this kid is so creative.

Just For Fun

Jacob has really blossomed into this adorable personality. One of his favorite things to do is go under people's legs when we're standing around and to give kisses. He just started doing these things this past week and it has been so much fun. Sunday was our last day in nursery in our ward. We're excited to see how the next ward is, but very sad to leave. We got lots of hugs from the nursery kids. It will be fun to visit and see how much they have grown. We'll be joining Jon soon, and we can't wait! I'm sure we'll visit often, it isn't the same without a grandma and grandpa close by. I guess we'll have to adopt one while we're in Montana.

Cool Tricks, Cool Tricks! YEAH!

This week, Jacob has been full of new tricks. I was in making dinner and my mom yells for me, "Amy! Get in here!!" I run in and there's Jacob, stacking a syrup bottle on top of a ketchup bottle. The other day, he stacked three V-8 cans on top of each other. WOW! I was amazed, and since this is my blog, I guess I have bragging rights eh? Yeah, my kid is pretty much the coolest kid ever born.

Anyway, then later on, he tries this out! He has been doing this for a while, but wait.... he can do it with one hand in the air. Boo-yeah. And then this one... his bum waaaaay in the air!

Then, out of nowhere... he finds this huge puddle, and starts dancing in it. He's either going to grow up to be an entertainer, an engineer, or Jon-Jon says: a trick snowboarder.

Cold Weather? Nah.

No matter how cold it has been, even though it's been below 45 degrees... Jacob loves to go outside and explore. He just discovered this spot at my mom's house in the back. It has great dirt for digging (with other twigs) and tiny pebbles that are great for throwing at the cats. I let him play for a little while, but once his hands are the color of a red balloon, we head in. He wouldn't even stop, even though I bet his hands are completely numb. What a trooper. There is just too much to explore and not enough time. Since Jon's been gone, we've had to keep ourselves really busy so that we don't think about how much we miss him. Jacob has picked up on coloring! Which I'm so excited for. I've been waiting for that moment since he first arrived on this Earth! I've been planning so many crafty projects to do with him and so far we've made several cards (which I need to send out still), colored Halloween pictures, done sidewalk chalk almost everyday, and haven't gone out to eat once (only because we have to get rid of all the food in the deep freeze since we can't take it)! We usually go out for DQ at least once while Jon is gone. Now that I think about it, Jacob was meant to live in a place where it is super cold. He loves it. I still have to go buy some long johns for the both of us and some snow boots too. I guess I've been a little busy with other things :)

This isn't from Jacob chewing on the chalk... oh no... he bends over and licks the chalk off of the cement, after it has been applied to the sidewalk... it must be easier that way, or maybe it just tastes better.

Life on the Farm

I've been wanting to get a picture of Jacob on the tractor with Grandpa Duvall and finally, on Saturday Grandpa was filling up the tractor with gas and we ran out side to catch him just in time. Jacob loved it! He wanted to stay on longer with great grandpa, but he had to get to work. Grandpa was so excited when I asked him if I could get a picture of them. I love that twinkle grandpa gets when you know you've done something he loves. We will miss them a lot along with the farm/country environment.
