11 months...

Jacob is now 11 months old. I can't believe how fast it has gone by. It has been so crazy. I think it really made Jon's last year of college (for a BA) go a lot faster. It did for me anyway. Jacob is walking now! He loves to walk, but still loves to crawl. I think before he's a year he'll be convinced that walking is a lot easier to get into things. He gets so excited when falls down because all of the cheering from anyone watching begins. As you can see in the video... he loves the cell phone. For the first steps, he needed a little something for the hard work, so I would bribe him with something I never let him have!

As a little side note, Jacob needs another hair cut. I had to give him a mohawk... I just had to. It's not in my blood to have a son... and not give him one every now and then. Now, all I have to do is convince Jon to do one so I can get more blog worthy photos of both of them, then maybe I'll make myself one too! Now... THAT would be blog worthy. Oh, Jacob's other new thing... he puts his hand over his mouth when he's in trouble, for example; when Jon or I tell him no for something, he immedietly turns and looks at us and puts his hand over his wide open mouth. Sometimes he just does it anyway, like the picture with the mohawk.

My Buddy

Does anyone remember the "My Buddy" Dolls? Well, my mom made one for my youngest brother, Jon, when he was probably around eight... anyway, Jacob and I were snooping around at my mom's and we found it! I had forgotton, but my mom told me that Jon (my bro) had named him Alex. Jacob LOVES him! Especially his yarn hair. Now Jacob can yank on Alex's hair and not mine anymore. And, just for the record, Jon (my husband), does not approve of him playing with dolls, so I'm sure that when he reads this post he's going to pass out. But, are they really dolls when they're bigger than yourself? I guess it would be different if Jacob was like 12 or something right? Jacob trying to do his head stand on Alex.
Here is Jacob lovin Alex's hair.
I made them sit together for a little pose.

New Baby Aubrey Jane Durbin

My friends Allison and Kenny had their first baby, and I had to post these pictures, because I actually got to hold her when she was only a couple of days old! She is so pretty. Now Jacob knows two Aubreys! Jacob wasn't too thrilled at first, he was more thrilled with the exercise ball that Kenny was sitting on when we went over there, and the cat that kept coming to visit. Congrats Kenny and Allison!

Japanese Gardens

Saturday, Jon took Jacob and I for a little trip to the Japanese Gardens! It was so fun, and Jacob loved the waterfall. Jacob is getting so close to walking, so throughout most of the walk, Jon and I held one of Jacob's hands and walked with him... one on each side. It was so nice (AND FREE)! Even though we stayed for maybe 20 minutes (the gardens aren't very big at all), it was such a great break. To get out of the house and enjoy some nature all together.

May Monthly Special: Color!

I was so excited to see the challenge from www.takeoutphoto.blogspot.com! It is color... and boy do we need some!! The weather has been so gloomy, so I had to look really close for some color and this is what I came up with. The blue ball is Jacob's favorite thing to play with. I just LOVE the little dimples in his hands too! The violet flower is a flower that my grandma gave my mom before she passed away and I love the color, even the color of the stems and leaves caught my eye. Oh, and if you haven't read my comments about this site before, it is AMAZING. I have learned so much about photoshop. I can't wait for him to come out with a book!

Where did he get this from?

I was sitting at the computer and couldn't hear Jacob making any sounds, so I went into the kitchen to find him... sweeping the floor! He LOVES brooms and in this case swiffers. He is currently dragging it around the entire house, even though it is three times his size. And... like the title says, I really don't know where he gets this from because Jon and I both are not too keen on cleaning, but hooray! Hopefully he will keep this up.

Jacob's #1 Favorite Show

Jacob used to really like Sesame Street, until we discovered Yo Gabba Gabba! This show is AWESOME. If I were to ever make my own kid's show, it would be just like this one. Not only does it include sweet awesome characters, teaches kids things like manners, how to eat healthy (great stuff like that),and they also have a special guest with each episode like Supersonic, that guy from Nacho Libre... Jack Black's side kick, Jack Black, Tony Hawk, and other awesome people. They also teach kids how to dance, we learn a new move each day! As well as a new Beat-Bop sound. It's awesome. Oh, and DJ Lance has some sweet moves too.

His and Hers

I made this his and hers towel rack for a wedding present last week. I thought it turned out pretty cute. The flower in the middle totally made this, before I put it on there was something missing. It's amazing how one little thing can make a project! I just mod podged this on as well. Now I need to make one for myself, because Jon always tends to steal my towels.... gr.
