My new nephew

Well, he doesn't have a name yet, but soon! Here are some pictures of all of us at the hospital. He is so adorable, and looks just like his big sister. Welcome to your new family little guy!

Utah Part One

I'm leavin' on a jet plane... don't know when I'll be back again...

Jon, Jacob, and I came to Utah on the 22nd of March and we have had a great time so far. We've done so much already! We stayed the night in Olympia on Saturday night with David and Cindy, went out to Thai food for dinner with them, to celebrate Cindy's birthday. Then they dropped us off at the airport! Thanks!!It has been so great. We came to hang out and help Mike and Shawna, because they are expecting their second baby! They are in the hospital as I type this.

When we first got here, we stayed with Mark, Angee, JJ, and Karlee. It was so fun to see them. Karlee warmed right up to Jacob and they were best buds right from the start. Then, on Monday we went to the Dinosaur Museum, I have been wanting to go there for the longest time. Thanks for the awesome b-day present Mark and Angee! It was great. Jacob even liked it!

We then went to Mike and Shawna's house to spend time with them and we've been having a blast! One day we went to the mall, where they had this super cool giant globe floating on water. Jacob is pretty much part fish, so he loves anything and everything that includes water. This is Jacob AFTER the water globe...

We have also gone to visit Ryan and Dakota and their family which has been so wonderful as well. They have a little mini farm with pigs, chickens, a horse, and goats. Jacob especially loved the pigs and their oinks, he would laugh out loud every time they made a noise.

Everyone has been so awesome, I've been so lucky to spend some great time here for my birthday! I got some really cool scrapbooking stuff from Dakota and the Twilight movie from Mike and Shawna.

Today we went to the BYU Animal Museum with Ryan, Dakota, Cameron, Brandon, anand had a great time. The animals were nasty but cool... all real, but stuffed. They even had a Liger! It was great.

25 Random Things

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)

1. My favorite color is red and forever will be.
2. I love photoshoping images and playing around with photographs.
3. I'm a huge cricut/scrapbooking fan.
4. I love Disney movies.
5. I somewhat secretly love R&B... and like to dance.
6. I've eaten a praying mantis on a dare.
7. I love eating spaghetti with butter and ketchup. It's one of my all time comfort foods. I ate it almost every week when I was pregnant.
8. I really like to read, when I have a book that really catches my interest. I've been known to start books and then quit about half way through, because I lose interest.
9. One of my all time favorite shows is Match Game on Game Show Network.
10. I want to live in a big city, just for a little while. I love living in the country, but I would love to live somewhere big for a couple of years.
11. I was one of those huge beanie baby collectors when they were super popular and I still have one of my favorite ones, seymore the seal, in a plastic container, with a tag protector...
12. I hate doing housework, even though when I do it, I feel so much better and peaceful, and I always feel better while I'm doing it. It's just getting started that I hate I guess.
13. I love to cook. I try a new recipe at least once a week. It kind of frustrates Jon, because I hardley ever make one thing more than once. So, when Jon really likes something, it could be years before I make it again.
14. I've started a recipe book of my own of my favorites so that Jon can have a happy tummy and not get frustrated that I don't make his favorites more than once every three years. :)
15. I have no idea how to do my own make up. I've just started getting more into it, because it does make me feel a lot more confident in myself, so I look online for tips, because I'm too embarassed to ask anyone for help.
16. I have a goal to lose thirty pounds before Jon (my bro) comes home from his mission in September, and I've lost 10 of the 30!
17. Someday I want to be an entrepreneur. Either my own preschool or a photo editing business.
18. I love to eat out at restaurants (not fast food). I hardley ever order the same thing twice. I feel like it's a waste of money, because I've tried it before. It drives me crazy that whenever we go out to eat, Jon orders the chicken fettucine every time.
19. Before I had Jacob, I got sick maybe once every two years. Since I've had Jacob, I've been sick three times in nine months.
20. Holidays are my favorite time of the year. Doesn't matter what or when, I love celebrating, and I LOVE parties.
21. I love weddings. I love going to weddings, I love hearing about weddings, engagements, and receptions. (especially when they provide good food).
22. Wow, this has been more time consuming and pointless than lots of other things I could be doing while sitting on my behind.
23. I love travelling, and when Jon and I get old, we're going to travel and travel and travel.
24. Elephants are my favorite animal.
25. I love going to zoos.

Alright, I'm tagging, Shawna, Marinda, Dakota, Cindy, and Angee.

The Black Socks.

Jon has been known to wear his black church socks with shorts... every single Sunday this occurs, I didn't really notice it until relatives pointed it out. But, it happens, every Sunday, no matter how cold it is, Jon changes out of his church clothes and puts on shorts, and keeps on his long crew black socks. So what did I HAVE to do when we had a baby boy? Get him some black socks for Sunday. Jon was actually totally willing to do this photo shoot. I love taking pictures of Jacob with his dad, because every now and then you get the little smile or look that makes them look like twins.

Jacob is now 9 months old. He has grown so much. He's pulling up on everything, clicks his tongue constantly, loves to sing along with music, waves to strangers, claps for everyone, cuddles nonstop, and loves watching Blue's Clues with mommy. He doesn't have any teeth yet, but I'm not complaining, I feel blessed actually! I know they will come soon enough.

Walk the plank matee...

I know I've been going post wild turkey today, but Jacob and I were watching Blue's Clues, and we totally learned how to make this sweet hat. I've always wondered how to make one and boo yah, we did it. We're totally going to do this in nursery on Sunday. I forgot to mention! I got put in as nursery leader a couple of weeks ago. Totally my FAVORITE calling ever. Jon and I were nursery leaders when we first got married, but now having Jacob makes it ten times better. Jacob has so much fun with the kids.

Clean? Dirty?

Erin came over the other day and asked me to help her make a little magnetic label for her dishwasher, to identify if the dishes were dirty or clean. SO, I pulled out this about two by four or five inch magnet that I had sitting on my fridge for ever and then Erin glued on these cute little letters. It was so simple, and it looks so adorable. We used the Cricut to cut out the letters and voila! It sticks on both sides. We have yet to modge podge the letters on all the way, but once it is done, it won't get ruined it if gets wet and hopefully last a while.

The Power of Sweetness

I don't know if any of you watch The Celebrity Apprentice, but Jon and I LOVE it. We loved The Apprentice even more, but we make do with this as well. Anyway, Sunday this last episode, the celebrities had to make cupcakes from scratch and try to raise as much money as possible for a charity. Needless to say I was totally inspired and thought... if Clint Black can make cupcakes from scratch, I can! So, last night, I DID! I even made butter cream frosting. I couldn't believe how incredibly delicious they turned out! I don't think I will ever make cake/cupcakes from a box again, now I say I don't think, because it is faster to make from a box mix... but there is no comparison, the batter and frosting made from scratch was delectable. WOW. So, here are some pictures. I got the recipe from http://www.allrecipes.com/ my number one favorite website now. I can't believe I didn't discover this site earlier. I LOVE it. The reviews help out so much.

More fun quotes

I do, happen to love funny quotes... so, after I quoted that one by Dr. Seuss I got all excited and found some of my other favorites. ENJOY!

Michael Scott:
Do I need to be liked? Absolutely not. I like to be liked. I enjoy being liked. I have to be liked. But it's not like this, compulsive, need, to be liked. Like my need to be praised.

Michael Scott:
Oh I am taking responsibility. And it is up to me, to get rid of the curse, that hit Meredith, with my care. I am not superstitious, but I'm a little 'stitious.

Nacho: And over there in the tree, is a chipmunk nest. And that right there, is our corn, best in the city, it's delcious. And that is a crazy lady. So now you pretty much know what I do. Pretty dang exciting, huh?

Nacho: Ok. Orphans! Listen to Ignacio. I know it is fun to wrestle. A nice piledrive to the face... or a punch to the face... but you cannot do it. Because, it is in the Bible not to wrestle your neighbour.
Chancho: So you've never wrestled?
Nacho: Me? No. Come on. Don't be crazy. I know the wrestlers get all the fancy ladies, and the clothes, and the fancy creams and lotions. But my life is good! Really good! I get to wake up every morning, at 5AM, and make some soup! It's the best. I love it. I get to lay in a bed, all by myself, all of my life! That's fantastic! Go. Go away! Read some books!

Retype THIS AgasdfS809877HllkJLHBkjhKJkjgklLKJuhhlkj

Everytime I post on someone else's blog, I crack up at the security code words, where you have to retype the word EXACTLY. I seriously have to do it at least twice everytime. The reason for this I believe is because I always have to say the word. You know... the PRETEND words. Like spegly, triiml, gostle, reple, spifg, and peerl. I always find myself trying to sound out the word. I don't know if it's because of my teaching degree or phonics problem... who knows. I just find myself laughing everytime I post. It actually makes posting more fun for me.
And, in celebration of Mr. Dr. Seuss, I have found one of my favorite quotes, that someday I plan on making a vinyl sign, if I ever get out of town to a REAL craft store or purchase some vinyl (other than black or brown... since that's all Wal-Mart seems to carry in store here)....So, remember Dr. Seuss today, as you comment on someone's blog, because these "pretend" words are probably from his books anyway.
Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.
