Cousins, cousins, cousin overload!

After the funeral we headed over to Uncle Charlie's AMAZING garden with Marlene, Cooper, and Easton. Seriously, I could live in this garden and be so so happy (with plumbing of course). All of his fruit and vegetables are incredible! The kids loved picking and tasting everything in the garden.  

Then we all hung out at Grandpa Duvall's and fed the mules... for hours. These kids couldn't get enough of them! Easton was "The Mule Whisperer" and they flocked to her.

 

Later that afternoon we went bowling. It was a fun filled day! The kids went right to bed when we got back.

Grandma Lucille Richens Funeral- June 16th

I've only known Grandma Richens these past 10 years, and she had suffered from many strokes and was unable to speak clearly or walk. But I could see her happiness and cheerfulness whenever we would bring the boys over to visit. She loved seeing Jon whenever we came over, she would light up and try talking to him. Uncle Charlie took care of her and dedicated his life to caring for her needs.
Marlene was able to fly over from Alaska and Mark was able to drive up from Utah. Jon dedicated the grave and I was so proud of him. He did such an amazing job. Marlene gave the eulogy and I felt I learned so much about her. She was a caring grandmother that had lots of sweets ready for the grandkids (sound amazing to me!) She was great in the kitchen and with canning as well. I'm so glad we were able to make it for the funeral and be surrounded by so many loved ones.

Last of the Soccer Games for Spring 2014!

I'm so proud of these boys. They had a great season and gave their all to every game and every practice. I loved going and watching each one. Jon was able to get work off for a couple of games, which was so great! I loved watching these boys grow and learn so much. Soccer has taught them so much more than I could have. I'm so grateful that both of them were able to play. Ian was on The Hawks and Jacob was on the Lil' Kickers team this time. They both had fantastic coaches! Jacob received an awesome medal and Ian got a great looking trophy.

Jacob's 6th Birthday! June 12th

This year Jacob got a Planes game for his Innotab and the game Spot It. We got Spot It Jr. for Christmas this past year and the boys love it, so we decided to upgrade to the original game. It's one of our favorites! Ian and I picked out Jacob's cake, Jacob knew he wanted a DQ ice cream cake. It was incredibly delicious! I can't believe Jacob is 6. He's loving school, loves playing with his friends, and loves to play soccer. He reminds me of Jon more and more every single day. He looks up to his dad so much and loves hanging out with him. Here's a bit about his favorite things this year:

Favorite colors: red and yellow (because they make his "real" favorite color orange haha), orange, grey
Favorite game: Football
Favorite thing to do: play video games with dad
Favorite show: Wipeout and Fetch with Ruff Ruffman
Favorite movie: Wreck it Ralph

Portland Zoo- June 11th

We LOVE the zoo!! Every time we come it seems there's something new to see.

Suzette came with us to the Zoo this time, and she told the boys to act like baby eagles. I was dying laughing at these faces!

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa Redford Memorial Day Weekend- May 26th

We went to Eugene to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa for Memorial Day weekend. It was so much fun! We had a BBQ and Jon made his family famous pasta salad. Then we went to visit a local farmer's market. They had goats, tractors to sit on, and loads of fresh fruit and vegetables. The best part was the gold mining! YES! They boys (mostly Jon!) absolutely loved this part. All you had to do was purchase a bag of sand and dump it in your sifter. Each bag had lots of gems or fossils. We had so much fun.

The Stride 5K- May 17th

The boys were so pumped to do a race with me, I was so excited!! We do The Stride every year. It helps out the local schools here and a lot of people in the community come. It's so much fun. We got a shirt and a medal! Score! Jacob and Ian ran ahead of me and I couldn't catch up. Jacob went the entire way without stopping and a friend from church carried Ian part of the way! I was so happy someone took him and helped him. When I finally got to the finish line, they had been waiting with some volunteers for me to pick them up. Go big or go home.
