Travelogue: Ipoh

After 6 months of internship, it is time for vacation! It begins with eat-along-the-way trip in Ipoh together with a group of friends. There are seven of us including me. I drove from Taiping to Ipoh and reached there around 9.30a.m. From there, the "makan" journey begins!

Day 1
Pit stop 1: A small coffee shop
We ate some colourful "kuih", nasi lemak, curry wan tan mee, dry pan mee and pan mee soup. Overall, it is tasty especially nasi lemak. Thumbs up! What a good start for my "makan" journey.







Pit stop 2: The popular "yong tau fu" shop under a big tree with refreshing fruit juices
The prices for the "yong tau fu" are quite cheap and there is a wide range of selection to choose. The fruit juices are simply thirst-quenching! It freezes my brain too.

Pit stop 3: Hong Kee Mah Chee
Here, we tasted a smily peanut-butter-taste alike. This small little stall is no ordinary stall as its food is popularly recommended by Ho Chak (a show at 8tv that introduces delicious food around Malaysia)

Pit stop 4: The Funny Mountain soya bean and "tau fu fah" shop
When we reach there, there has been already a long queue of people and cars waiting. No doubt this shop is famous for its soya bean and "tau fu fah". This shop has a self-made drive thru lane!

We ordered a mixed fruit ice kacang. I was salivating by just looking at those vibrant colours of the fruits.

We are served with popularly recommended Vietnamese dishes. One word to describe those dishes - DELICIOUS!

The shop's name says it all. Tasty tauge chicken and chicken legs too!


Pit stop 10: Kim Bali Restaurant
This restaurant serves popular Thai food. We order a variety of Thai food especially seafood tomyam. The food is mouth-watering and appetizing! Even though it is slightly expensive but it worth every penny of it!

After our stomach is bloated, it is time to take a walk and have some photo taking station!

After A long Hiatus Pt. Two

My internship has officially ended on 31^st June. Overall, my internship was quite good. I may not have a good start of my internship; however, I did end with much satisfaction and pleasure. I did make a few friends and I am glad that I have the opportunity to know them.

Different people have different stories to inspire you in different aspects

The last two months of my internship was simply marvelous. I had outings most of the days especially after work. Even though it was tiring, but every single day is ended with a smile on my face. It may be for a very short period of time but most importantly, I really enjoyed. Things that I do within two months:

a) Bowling sessions

I just love the bowling centre in Genting. They have a mixture of disco and of course, bowling centre. Playing bowling in glow-in-the-dark environment with great music is indeed enjoyable.

b) Chit-chat session

We always have a chit-chat session after bowling session before we head back to our rooms. We share laughter and jokes among us. Each chit-chat session always have our stomach filled with air and muscle pain due to laughing too much. I also have a chit-chat session with another group of friends which are also scholarship holders. This is our first meeting together in one table to catch up with each other after 3 years. Sometimes I chat with my colleagues at Starbucks or Coffee Bean to share some personal experiences and funny stories.

c) Photo shooting session

We went to Chin Swee Temple for photo shooting in formal attire. It was just for our own purpose and fun. Like everyone says, the place is simply beautiful with serene scenery. I really enjoyed the photo shooting session not because I like my photos being taken but being around with a group of friends. I wouldn’t be here visiting if I am alone as I have no one to share with.

d) Movie session

This is the first time I went to watch a movie with around ten friends. We bought almost a row of seats!

e) A short trip

Since we all have off days and got nothing to do, we went to Mushroom Farm and Awana to walk around and had another round of photo shooting session.

f) Karaoke and pool session

I went for karaoke with different groups of friends in Genting. Don’t ask me to sing unless you need the rain. This is also my second time playing pool. I think I did improved since I’m no longer pocketing the wrong ball.

Tik Tok

It’s exactly a month away before I officially end my internship. Today, I just made a presentation to educate my colleagues about quality management and a few tips to remember things better in front of my superior. I don’t know whether it helps them or not but at least I did try my best. Anyway, the most important part is my internship is ending very soon. I had been feeling unwell for the past few days but nothing beats the feeling of happiness and freedom.

After I completed my internship and reports, I shall start visiting friends around. Can we have some gatherings? Anyone?

After A Long Hiatus Pt. One

I’m back from a long hiatus. I guess there is no one following my blog anymore. Currently, I’m doing my internship at Genting Malaysia. I just can’t wait for my internship to end in another one and a half month. The first four months of my internship was never a pleasant one. I have no friends up here. However, the worst part of my internship that kills me is not boredom or loneliness, but the psychology torture that my superior had me to endure. I really pray that I could pass my internship because I just happen to know that my superior has the history of making interns almost fail. I believe that if I managed to crawl out alive from this internship; I can survive in any companies. Thank God that for the remaining two months, some of the university friends I knew are interning in Genting Malaysia. Now I’m not so bored and lonely anymore. I guess I really deserved at least a good ending for my internship.

What am I going to do after my internship? First, I need to rush to finish up my internship report in a very short period time. Then, I will have to start planning for trips before my new semester starts. I have never been on a real vacation for a long time. I guess this is my last chance to really enjoy my holidays. To my fellow friends, I might plan trips to visit some of you.

Last few days, I went through a very big surprise that I never ever expected. However, it doesn’t really matter anymore as I will try to accept it with an open heart. While my internship is coming to the end, most of my university friends are preparing to graduate very soon but not before they complete their 3 month internship. See all of you at the convocation. This is the first time I need to bid farewell to so many people at the same time at one place. Good luck and all the best to everyone in their future undertakings!
