Dentist

Today we all had dentist appointments, including little miss Brenna!  Being nearly 4 it was time!  We tried about a year ago, but she was too scared, so I was nervous about how it would go today.  It helps that the dental hygienist is Grandma, and Brenna did AWESOME this time!  She jumped right up in the chair and let it all happen without one word of complaint!  We were all very proud of her, and doesn't she look so grown up in that chair!?  Is it weird it made me a little emotional?  haha I'll blame it on pregnancy hormones.

Mason never got in the chair, but he had fun wreaking havoc and watching big sister!  He wouldn't leave the room for one minute!

Showing off her new sparkling clean teeth and her cool new toothbrush and toothpaste (which she used like 5 times today!)

I love how excited she's been all day about her teeth being "sparkly clean" and it was fun watching her at the dentist!  Next time it's Mason's turn!

On a side note, unfortunately my teeth are moving back a little bit to their pre-braces state and it has been suggested that I get a retainer... so we'll see what happens with that!!  But no cavities today for anybody, so it's a happy day!

Princesses

I am all about the random picture updates lately since all I think/talk about is wanting this baby out!  This will be better!  Here's my kids being cute little weirdos!

Brenna loves to wear mommy's boots, and Mason couldn't be left out of the fun!

It took a lot of effort for him to lift up that heavy shoe for the picture!

My Hansom boys, soon to be 2!  Mason is finally wearing the tie I made him over a year ago because I can finally get the top button of his Sunday shirts done up!

He wanted it off right away, but then we showed him he looked like daddy and he left it on all day!  So cute!

Risky Business!  I haven't seen the movie, but I've seen this scene redone a lot and think it's funny, Mason was running around like this and I couldn't resist!

Blue Steel

Brenna wanted to crochet a blanket for baby brother like mommy, so I got her started... but 5 minutes later she lost my crochet hook in the couch.. grr... good thing it wasn't the one I'm using!  Still, I want it back!  our couch eats things!  Oh, and Mason was helping and it was really cute, but he didn't want it documented.

This made my whole day the other day.  We (my mom and I, definitely NOT Jeremy and I) have tried to get Mason to wear a princess dress before and he was hysterical about it, but the other day he brought this dress to me and begged to have it on!  Even though Jeremy was coming home soon, I couldn't resist!  They danced and wore these for probably a couple of hours, and I laughed every time I saw him!

hehehe
So there's all the pictures from lately.  Well most of them.  I need to work on getting better pictures of my kids more often!
The other day at the park I had to do a little jog over to catch Mason who had fallen and was hanging on for dear life.  I jumped up and started running over there, but oh man.  I slowed right down, and every step was really painful!  No running for this pregnant lady.  Luckily Mason is strong and held on long enough not to die, but let me tell you, I have been sore as heck ever since and it's making me more anxious than ever to have this baby and get back to normal!  I know life won't get easier when he's out, but I will be much much much more comfortable, and right now, that sounds better than anything!  I know my husband will agree as he gets to deal with my whining more than anybody.  So I'm almost 34 weeks, which means as soon as February hits basically, I'll be rooting for this to be over!  Wish me luck!

Random thoughts

I have some random thoughts to jot down about being pregnant, my kids, and life!
First of all, holy smells!  I can smell a poopy diaper from 3 rooms away I swear, and that's not all.  I am going CRAZY for like clean smells.  I spray the kitchen counters any chance I get with lemon Mr. Clean because I can't get enough of the smell!  I'm not sure if I should be sniffing cleaning supplies though, so... haha it is seriously like the best thing.. I need to go clean the counters now!
Also, our laundry detergent which right now happens to be Arm and Hammer clean burst or something.. I wish I could have an air freshner or perfume in that smell right now!  It sounds nuts, but just thinking of these smells is driving me nuts!  I blame my pregnant nose.
Also, I am getting leg/foot cramps like crazy, and it's annoying.  I've never had them this easily/constantly before, I have to be careful any time I sit/kneel/flex my feet!
I am starting to turn into sort of a cranky pregnant person.  I still have 7.5 weeks until my due date (although hopefully not that long till we meet his guy) and I am trying to keep a positive and productive attitude.  I cry if someone even looks at me wrong, and stay up at night fretting about the baby's name and things to do before he comes, but I LOVE feeling him move, and the excitement of wondering what sweet spirit is going to be part of our family soon!

Second thing.  Brenna has officially reached the "kids say the darndest things" age I've decided.  I actually have to be careful and I get nervous when she speaks out in public now!  She has said more than a few things lately that have caused me to blush, including:
-LOUDLY asking our mail-LADY (who had a short haircut) if she was a boy or a girl.
- Our neighbor was outside with his shirt off today and Brenna yelled "Mom, I see a naked man!"

Oh man, I am forgetting one that I had in my head at the beginning of this post... it's not coming back though!

Mason is growing up so much!  He talks like a pro and repeats his scripture verse each night really well.  My favorite thing right now is watching him play pretend with his big sister, and the one time he gave my belly a hug for baby brother.  He is in a bed instead of a crib now and doing much better.  I think he's pretty much the cutest boy on the planet and still can't get enough of his smiles, hugs and those sweet cheeks!

Jeremy is being such a trooper dealing with the ups and downs of having a pregnant wife and picking up some of my slack lately.  I don't always thank him enough, but the past few days after I do my mediocre pregnant job during the day he comes home from work and has been finishing up the things I didn't bother with.  I'm grateful for all of his hard work at work and at home!  I feel blessed to have him as my husband and the father of my kids!  I don't know why I got so mushy just then... man, can't control myself!

There's my random list of thoughts for the day!  Soon to come (hopefully soon!) pictures of all my baby projects that I've begun my work on!  I hope I get them done quickly!  Since I also have mental lists of rooms to rearrange and organizing to do too!

Total Canada Trip!

Just as a heads up... there will be a lot of very similar pictures in this post!  It's not my fault.  Jeremy and the kids went sledding while we were in Canada, and I couldn't get enough of these pictures of them all bundled up and having a ball.  So I will do a run down of our trip interspersed with pictures of sledding!

We lost Mason's gloves on our first night, so he is wearing mine!
So, as I wrote before, we got there just in time for Christmas Eve and all the things that that entails.  We really enjoyed celebrating with my family and meeting new soon-to-be members of the family and being in the great north for the holidays!
After Christmas we turned pretty much all of our attention to wedding things!  The wedding was on the 28th, and there's always lots to do!  We had a girls night with my sister where we saw "We Bought a Zoo" while the boys babysat... we set up decorations at the gym... the girls got manicures thanks to my mom (you're the best mom!)... then the big day!  Which I also already wrote about!

The boys got away on their fair share of adventures too.  They decided they needed a boys night since we had a girls night, so they saw the new Mission Impossible and went out to dinner, they also went out to the farm to see if they could shoot a coyote (nope!), they went shooting clay pigeons, and saw a hockey and a football game or two too.  Suffice it to say we kept busy in our 8 day stay!  With Christmas, wedding, new years and lots of family, we had such a great trip!

That's not even to mention the sledding outing that Jeremy really wanted to take the kids on while we were there.  There actually wasn't much snow in Calgary, and the weather was really mild.  Luckily just outside of my parents' backyard there was lots of ice snow and a good hill that kids were sledding down all the time.  I was really nervous because it was literally an ice hill and the kids are so little!  But to both of our astonishment really, Brenna AND Mason LOVED sledding!  Brenna stayed out forever and went by herself even down the biggest hill!  She is a little daredevil!  Mason went with Jeremy and Brenna a few times and we couldn't tell if he enjoyed it or not to tell the truth, but he definitely didn't want to stop!  Until I promised him hot chocolate if he would let me take him inside!

I'm trying to think if I forgot anything we did!  Jeremy and all of the people except my mom, me and Mason, went to play basketball at the church on Christmas Eve morning... and a family dinner the night before the wedding.  Oh!  And lunch with Fallon and her adorable family... always good to see friends!  And New Years Eve visiting with old friends too!

This is my very favorite photo of the day!
Having a fun ride down all 3 down the big hill
Still having fun...
Uh oh!  Mason... no longer having fun!
But he got over it pretty quick.

So that's our trip.  The flights went as well as could be expected, no major delays or problems.  The kids loved it and Brenna keeps asking when we're going back (which by the way is pretty soon since my bro's getting married!!) and we're still getting settled in to life back at home.  Mason slept on a mat on the floor with Brenna while we were there, and so now we're making the switch to a big boy bed while he's used to it... or at least we're trying.  He falls out a lot though and takes forever to get to sleep, but I think it's getting better!

I am so grateful for everything my family did for us while we were there.  Devin for letting us steal not only his room but his bathroom and basement privacy for a whole week... again!  And my parents for basically lending us a car, feeding us, letting us stay and helping us to have so much fun.  They even watched the kids for a while on New Years Eve so we could go out for dinner and visit with some friends (thanks Jeff and Joce, we really enjoyed catching up!  Jeremy is already talking about getting together when we come up for Devin's wedding!).  They put them to bed (no easy task) and bathed them and everything.  So grateful for family!
