Why do 4-wheel drive vehicles feel it's necessary to slow down at railroad crossings? I'm pretty sure that the salesman has pointed out the oh so unnecessary feature of the 4 x 4, at least not necessary for what most people use it for. Sure, you bought it to look cool while you're taking your kid to soccer practice and see if you can help contribute to the greenhouse effect but I'd like to inform you that those vehicles are made to drive over rough terrain and, thus, it is completely possible to go over railroad tracks without slowing down. I know!
If only I had a rocket launcher installed on my car. I have to cross a set of tracks every time I go to visit my parents. Invariably I will be driving behind a SUV, once it was even a Hummer - I kid you not, and they slow down to a crawl to cross the tracks. Meanwhile, the car next to them that is held together with string cheese and toothpicks rolls on over at 40 mph.

As a side note, Gene Simmons just won 500,000 for a pediatric foundation on "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader". Gene Simmons, lead singer of KISS, just proved he's not a moron. Rock on!

The poem that never was
You laughed,
I cried
You lived,
I died
I cried
You lived,
I died
So, can anyone else find something to go with that? No? Me neither, so it will never be finished. LOL
[pretend there's a really cool separation here]
They say writing your feelings down helps, we'll see...
I'm a visual thinker. And when I say that I mean I'm really a visual thinker. I can see the big picture on the big wall in the big house on the big street...the big universe. *sigh* While I already battle my self-esteem because all the 'smart' people are sequential, linear, whatever thinkers, thus making me an idiot, being a visual thinker makes it impossible to make a decision. My mind is a constant battle with Newton's third law. Every decision I try to make I can see all the different outcomes, and I mean all of them. This may very well come in handy in the business world but no so much in my social life. For business I can walk into a mess, organize, it and graph out a work flowchart that would bring you to tears; I wonder if ISO is hiring lol. But when it comes to my personal life I have to know what the repercussions might be. Well, that depends on your decision and the reaction that will have, and then the next and the next and the next - the third law. *sigh*
[EDIT] I had a couple more paragraphs here, just a little more personal than I usually get. Full of emo crap. I couldn't decide whether to keep it or not. Seriously, I came back to this page no less than three times...then I deleted it. Who wants to hear my problems? Nobody, that's who. So now you're spared, thank me later.

Two gripes in a blog
Who is responsible for the shrink wrapped dvds? Seriously. They should put them in a giant cube filled with wrapped dvds and not let them out until they have opened them all. It's the only fair course of action for all the frustration they have put us through.
Segue into gripe two...I just finally opened my new movie, Vantage Point. I had to buy this most excellent movie because our theater experience was continually disrupted by shouts of dismay from the audience. Apparently it came as a surprise when the scene would stop and revert to someone else's - le gasp - vantage point. Oh if only the producers would have given us a warning about that happening. Oh wait, they did, it's titled: Vantage Point. *sigh*
It's like when I saw the movie Lost In Space. At the end of the movie there was an uproar of people muttering, "What? So they're just lost in space now?"
o_O Really? Seriously? *facepalm* You can hate the movie but, good grief, don't tell me you're confused at the plot. Where in the heck did we lose you people???

kay-o
I'm way too lazy to read the encyclopedia to try and get smart so I'll just read the dictionary once in a while and settle for being 'just plain dumb'. So while looking at the dictionary, yes I mean looking(Okay, I'll settle for 'dumbass'), I came across the word kay-o. Not that exciting of a word. It's a slang term meaning knocked out in boxing. Here's the thing, I always thought it was k.o., as in an abbreviated form of knocked out. I have been completely clueless about this being an actual word. I saw it on the Simpsons when Bart was playing a video game with his dad, it definitely said "k.o.". *sigh*
The Simpsons have let me down, now I'm going to have to start looking things up. Dangit.
