...around page 745 in Les Miserables.
It's official, Marius drives me insane. As Natalie said, he
IS a weenie!!! This is a short description of my reaction while reading this:
Page 736 thru 758:
OMG, seriously? When is Marius going to realize that this is the same fricking family that "rescued" his father? He can't possibly believe they are using their real names...[facepalm]
So Maris AT LEAST perceives that there is a thread to his love, although I'm not sure I would look at a stalker as loving me but, whatever. But, doint that he is, he cannot think of how to warn them. Is it just me or is it plainfully obvious that he could solve two problems quite easily. He followed them partway home. It's not like they had a frikkin freeway system back then - all he needed to do was plant himself somewhere up the road, they were sure to come down, and warn them. Not only would he be doing them a service but he could also SPEAK TO THE WOMAN THAT HE SUPPOSEDLY LOVES. I mean, good grief...

Marius goes to talk to the superintendent who, of course, is not in. But, and I quote, "The superintendent isn't in but there is an inspector taking his place. Do you want to speak to him? Is it urgent?"
!!!
An inspector...is it? Could it be? You know who it's going to be and you're just screaming to the page, "OMG, can't you do
anything right?!?"
And yes, of course, it's Javert. [facepalm] Marius, marius, marius...
Then my two favorite, Courfeyrac and Bossuet show up and I was excited that they would have some dialogue but no. A couple sentences and that's it. :( Well at least JVJ is still here, and manages to escape again. I love that guy. [giggle]
