Weekend Getaway

A couple of weekends ago we went up to YMCA of the Rockies and stayed in one of thier lodges with some friends. They had a lot packed into basically one day. We needed a couple of more days to do it all. It was a very busy and fun weekend and the kids loved it. They had a bunch of crafts including decorating gingerbread houses.

We all did rollerskating, wow hadn't been on skates since like elementary school

Sledding! Taylor had a blast.

Ice skating...

And some square dancing. Like I said a lot to do in one full day. It was a ton of fun and the kids were exhausted by the end of it.

One year older!

The other day was my birthday and I had to post about it because it was a great one. It started on Wednesday when my friends all surprised me at Chilis. It really was a surprise and it was a one.
These are dessert shots!

Group pyramid at Chilis!

This was the whole clan! Thanks girls for helping me celebrate my birthday, I loved it. You guys are the best!

Not so many pictures on my actual birthday but here is one Bryce captured. He got me a sewing machine and we went to dinner and then dessert at Dairy Queen. I love Blizzards! Thanks for a great birthday everyone.

Celebrations!

Not only was it Thanksgiving but Brooklyn's birthday as well. We kind of had a birthday weekend. I took her to Build a Bear on Wednesday just me and her and then we had a family party on Friday.

Doesn't Sharpay look hot! (that is sharpay's prom dress) Her cousins Kailey and Owen.

At Build a Bear - first stuffing the kitty.

Bathing it.

Dressing it and the naming it .....

Here is Squiggles!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What is that yummy thing that Taylor is eating you ask? It is his treat that he made. Tomatoes filled with cottage cheese and sprinkles (guess he saw it on tv and wanted to make it). He actually ate quite a bit of it. The only other brave one was Brooklyn.

The small crew for Thanksgiving. Just our fam and my in-laws. We had a great visit while we were in Utah... thanks everybody!

projects

I was never into sewing but the last few months it has sparked my interest and now there are several things I want to make. These were my first two things to really sew besides blankets. Not very good pics. This first one is a diaper wipe case, yes the velcro is crooked (still beginner remember).
This is a little handbag which I love! Thanks Stacey for showing me how to getting started in this whole sewing thing.

Halloween Festivities

These are some of the things that we did during the week leading up to Halloween.

Taylor and Brooklyn at the rec center Halloween party. They had games, trick or treating, and treats!

Trick or Treating at Keller Williams after the huge snowstorm!

Madison at the Fall Festival at a local gardening center.

Me, Brooklyn, and Taylor!

Halloween night before trick or treating. Brooklyn was Tinkerbell minus the wings, Maddie a butterfly, and Taylor Spidey!

We had a great night. It started at a friends house with dinner and playing for the kids and then we all headed out trick or treating! The kids had a blast so did the adults.

snow

This is what it has been doing for the last two days. This was Wednesday night at about 10:00.

This was the next morning at about 7:30.

So this was just our backyard. I don't know how much we really got because the wind also blew some in our backyard but we still have gotten a ton! I think it is still snowing!

WICKED!

So Saturday was round 2 for seeing WICKED. I waited 10 months for this night because Bryce had bought me tickets for it last Christmas. It was just as excellent the second time, although I don't think Glinda and Elphaba were as strong as the first time I saw it, but still great! We went out with some friends to dinner before and they went to the show as well but had different seats. Thanks for a fun night!

Our cute friends! Sorry no posts for awhile, I had no camera but now I will be in catch up mode.

My Little Getaway

Last week I flew out and saw my good friend Talane in Philadelphia. It was so good to go and see her and I only had Madison with me so it made it even better. Wow I didn't know what to do with just one kid but nice to give her attention. I had a great time with Talane, it was really good to just talk and catch up and talk about some good times we had to together.
Thank you Talane for a great weekend and great food.
We went downtown to the Reading Terminal Market and had lunch and walked around in there.

I had to try a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich in Philly. Look at Maddie eyeballing it. It was a good one!

Ok so I think we are in front of the City Hall downtown, I kind of had to post this one because it was the last picture taken before my camera broke :( So I don't have any other pictures of Talane and me and the weekend but we had a good time together.
Thanks again for everything. Love you Talane!

Update

Lately I feel like I have been so busy and I just end the day exhausted so I have really not felt like blogging. So here is a quick update on what we have been up to lately. Nana and Papa came recently and one of the things we did with them was go to the Rockies game.

Brooklyn went to a friends birthday party. It was a train themed party and the birthday boy's mom did a wonderful job. it was really cute.

Cute little Maddy.

Maddy eating her first veggie! She loved it.

Taylor started soccer!

5 Months

Wow! I can't believe Madison is five months already.

I was trying to think of a list of the things she does but my first thoughts were the things she "doesn't" do yet.
She doesn't:
sleep through the night (we have some really good ones though)
roll over (trying real hard from back to tummy)
disappoint when it comes to the screaming when she wants attention
take a bink
She does:
love the swings at the park
loves to be held standing up
constantly chews on her fingers (now has found her toes)
has wild and long hair
like the cereal so far (just had our first try the other night)
like walks in the stroller
I just love this chunky little thing!

1st Day

I can't believe that I have a child starting school! Wow kindergarten. Taylor has just been so excited to start at the "big" school. On the way he asked me if I was going to drop him off and leave him. I said yes and he just said "oh good." He didn't care one bit about leaving me. He loved the first two days. I hope he stays enthusiastic about it.

Lining up to go into the classroom.
This is what Taylor had to say about it "Happy School Day"
In front of Heritage Elementary.

Proud

Taylor had to give his first talk in primary two Sundays ago. I was so proud of him. I thought he might get up there and freeze but he didn't. Plus he was excited about it the whole week. He did a great job.

Had to Post

After I took these pictures of Madison I remembered some that I took of Brooklyn at about the same age so I had to compare. Madison and Brooklyn both at about 4 1/2 months.
Would you say they look similar?
