We are making the switch to one!

Recently, Wyatt has decided that his crib is now a stage. Instead of sleeping, like most kids do in cribs, Wyatt has chosen at least one nap to tap dance and sing instead of sleep. What? My perfectly scheduled kid is going a-wall on me.

And I'm not amused one bit.

As I have mentioned before I just love the two naps. I get lots of time to do stuff-clean, get ready, computer time, projects, etc. We usually go on an outing around lunch or in the afternoon. We just have had this schedule since July so it's been routine for a long time. I told Jason that I'm just selfish with the two naps. I love the routine that we have and hate to give it up for my sake and for my fun. I hate to just give it up without a fight.

Well, the fight is over! Wyatt has won. Since he has only taken one "nap" for the past few days I decided it is time to make the switch instead of be bugged. I've tried to put him down for two but it just ain't happenin'. It will make for some long days ahead but it must be done. His naps are only 1 1/2 hours (and I used to get two of those just a week ago) so you can see why I'm a bit bothered at this whole situation. I sure hope the naps get longer! If I remember correctly, when we went from 3 to 2 naps I went cold turkey and it was a bit of an adjustment but he did learn to sleep longer. Let's hope it works now.

My friend suggested to go cold turkey and just switch to one nap. Don't keep trying to do two some days because he will get confused. Great advice! So, that is what we are doing. If I seem bothered or annoyed it's because I probably didn't get a long nap from Wyatt and no downtime. I now can see why moms all across the world complain how their house is a mess and they don't have time to themselves to blog, read, etc. It's because they don't have time during the day to do anything. So, my house will probably be a little bit messier, my blog posts may be fewer (because I'll only have time to check my email and google reader before Wyatt wakes up if I can even do that), and you may find us out and about more.

As for now my thoughts are one nap=NO FREE TIME!

Wyattisms Lately

Wyatt is such a fun kid to be around. He makes me laugh all day long. Here are a few things he has been up to:

crawling really fast to get away from me so I don't "Get Him"

pulling himself up to standing. He knows how to get down but sometimes he gets frustrated when he forgets and yells at me to help him get down.

eating cottage cheese...he gets so excited when I pull the container out of the fridge

Saying "ball" about 1,000 times a day (an understatement). He loves the produce aisle at the grocery store because he sees lots of balls and will yell ball the whole time.

Seriously, this blue ball business is quite funny. He wakes up in the morning and from every nap asking where the ball is. I swear it is the only toy he likes playing with. This is a toy we took many months ago at the park. Someone thought it was ours so we gladly accepted it. Come to find out it would be this kid's pride and joy. I'm not kidding! I'm not sure where I can find a replacement but I better start thinking because Wyatt will be one sad kid if we can't find his ball one day. It's so funny because he used to crawl around with it and the arm holding the ball he would crawl on his forearm. Now he uses the ball more like a cane...still crawling around with it...everywhere!

Also, Wyatt loves opening and closing cupboards, especially the tupperware one.

He also loves reading books. I never thought I would have so many memorized! But his favorite part is reading the books by himself. He is a genius! Actually, I think he is more a fan of taking them out of the box.

Mrs. Crafty Overnight

Last night the CEO and founder of the Non-Crafty Club (me) turned crafty. I have always wanted to buy one of these cute flower headbands to wear but hadn't gotten one yet. I found a pattern online where I could make it. So, I went to JoAnn's and bought my materials and whipped out this cute little headband. I know, gasp now, but I'm pretty happy with my product. I shocked myself! Don't worry...I have no intentions of starting an ETSY shop but I am quite proud of myself. It wasn't difficult at all and I am actually wearing it in public! Watch out world...I might have to step down from my self-proclaimed title of the Non-Crafty Club because this girl has some major skillz. Next up will be one with a golden hue.

Like Mother, Like Son

I know that usually the saying involves the Father but in this case Wyatt is a lot like me. Ever since I weaned Wyatt from the bottle he has slowly started to despise milk. He used to drink a little bit from a sippy cup but now he shakes his head violently when I try to offer it, except if it comes in a straw with a fancy restaurant cup! You are probably wondering what this child of mine drinks.

You guessed it! WATER! Wyatt has been seen crawling around with his water bottle while still in his mouth and on occasion you can find me doing the same thing while folding laundry or making dinner, etc. We both have it neatly placed by our beds at night and somehow it winds up half empty. Whenever Wyatt sees me drinking mine in the car he begs/whines for his. I know exactly what he wants because he does it practically every time. Wyatt also won't drink for awhile but then will gulp it down like he hasn't had a drink in days. He loves his H20 on the go just like his mama!

Twenty Ten or is it Two Thousand and Ten?

No matter way you say it, we rang it in the best way! Some friends of ours invited us up to their family cabin. It was a blast! Jason and I are sure lucky to have such great friends. We went up on New Year's Day and spent the weekend. There were a lot of laughs, late nights, and even some laziness. Wyatt was in heaven crawling all around on the wood floors and having kids around to play with. We played in the snow but Wyatt wasn't a huge fan (maybe it is because he was sick and later that day got a fever). A few other kids got sick but we still managed to have fun. Thanks for such a great weekend!

We made a top twelve list of the funniest moments that we had. Don't try to understand them because you won't. They are crazy and most of them came from a game we played. Games late at night equal crazy answers and lots of laughs! (I did have to edit some of these) Another funny thing about this list is almost half of these items involved Jason or me. We are so funny! :)

Winsor Family Pictures 2009

After our trip to Utah, we came back to AZ for another vacation. Jason's sister was in town so there were festivities every night and day. For the next week I felt like I was still on vacation.... girls' lunch, shopping, eating out, staying up late finishing my Christmas movies, etc. One of the activities included the Winsor Family pictures at the Mesa Temple.
