Lazy(?) Summer Days

Super Carrots!
It sure is cool to live next to a carrot field!

Every morning after breakfast the kids do an hour or two of weeding and then it is carrot time. We pull carrots and peel, slice and dehydrate.
Yep time to start working on the farm.

YUMMMMMM

I thought this was cute. Payton has been waiting all year to drive the 4 wheeler by himself. The first day here he tried to drive but found out it didn't work and he would have to wait a day for it to charge up. As soon as it had been 24 hours he let us know it was time for his drive. Well I don't know if it didn't charge or if there is another issue but I went inside and thought he would have to wait for another day when they could work on it. Later I looked out the window to see this touching site. His uncle Joseph tied a rope up to the 4 wheeler and ran him down the hill and back up it. Payton has sure has some great uncles.

Motherhood

Carrie thanks for the reminder about motherhood. I tried to add a link to my page for all mothers I hope it works. http://www.lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?locale=0&vgnextoid=bd163ca6e9aa3210VgnVCM1000003a94610aRCRD&channelId=bd163ca6e9aa3210VgnVCM1000003a94610aRCRD
If anyone knows how to put the video on the post or on the side let me know.
Thanks

Garden 2010

Yep, it is starting to look like a jungle out there. I like to over plant my square foot garden as I usually have some empty squares. This year I think we are at capacity. We like to just sit on the back patio and watch the plants grow. Well that was when we could stand the heat and didn't get attacked by mosquitoes or flies.

Baby watermelon (of course this was taken a few days ago and it is probably a toddler now)
Okra anyone? I don't know what to do with one okra but I figured I might as well grow okra while I am in the south. Now what to do with it?

Here are my drawers I turned into boxes. The seasonal planting turned out great. And you can see the strawberries are doing well around it too. Ripe tomatoes in June I am excited! Hooray for planting in February.

Eggplant? It was that big a few days ago, But now it's even bigger! -avery

Girls Day

Girls day out. I decided to have a professional take on Paige's cowlick (I don't know if that is right but that is what I imagine when I say the word.)
So Paige and Avery both got hair cuts. I thought it was fun. Avery enjoyed the process but changed her mind about what she wanted after it was over. Opps too late.
It was fun to watch. Sorry the pictures don't show much.

After the cut, can't you see the difference. ha ha

Justin's beautiful creation. He made a delicious two layer chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and added his artistic touch.

Thanks Avery for the party hat and handmade necklace and rings.
