Pumpkin Patch

Evelyn loved every second of our visits to the pumpkin patch- pointing out and squealing at every pumpkin, and mooing at all the goats and sheep.

Halloween 2016

Jay wasn't around to dress up with us this year. Major bummer. I almost used it as an excuse to bow out of dressing up as well as attending our ward Trunk-or-Treat. During a chat over the phone with Jess a day before the ward party, I was persuaded to go to the Trunk-or-Treat, if anything for Evelyn's sake. I knew Evelyn and I could have shown up without dressing up but that just sounded too lame. So within an hour I came up with a costume idea, spent $4 on supplies at Walmart, then put our costumes together.

Our ward Trunk-or-Treat was a blast! It killed me knowing Jay was missing out but just as Jess said, for Evelyn's sake it was totally worth going. She didn't do any trunk-or-treating but loved playing with bubbles and glow sticks, dancing to loud music, eating chili, and watching all the other kids parade around in their costumes. Seeing what a thrill she got out of Halloween this year has me so pumped to see her at Christmas. 

Halloween 2015

I was pretty stoked about our costumes this year. The materials used to make mine and Jay's costumes were super cheap- nearly everything fell apart after the first wear (which was to take these photos) but I was able to mend them back together for our ward trunk-or-treat. So I guess considering the money spent on these materials (approximately $6) I was pretty pleased. 

  Evelyn didn't exactly enjoy wearing her costume, particularly the headband. It was all a little too tight and I think she was freaked out by the confinement of her legs. But with the amount of time spent on this costume, I was sure to make a thorough documentation of it. Plus, she made the cutest fish ever and got lots of attention at the trunk-or-treat.
