Indoor Soccer

A few times we went to play indoor soccer with our homeschool group.

Aria "playing" soccer

Haha, the mom who was coaching tried to tell her and another girl to stay by that line to play defense and they both just sat on the line. Aria sucked her thumb for good measure!

Parker actually "gets it" and LOVES soccer so I snapped a couple pictures of him playing.

He's a bit timid about it, but will sometimes actually get a really good kick in,
and he loves running around and cheering when his team scores!

Garden with Friends

We went to a free day at the desert botanical gardens with some friends.

Aria and her friend looking at some butterflies on plants.

Terra, excited about finding butterflies.

And Parker with his friend, Tyden, under a sculpture they thought was cool.

Easter 2014

For Easter this year we colored eggs several different ways.
First: Sharpie Markers
Here are the kids working on their eggs:

I totally LOVE how Terra is showing off her egg so I got a few of her:

She has the best facial expressions!

The finished products:

And traditional dyeing:

We also made a few by putting the eggs in a container with baking soda, and dumping in colored vinegar. We have a video here.
Then Easter morning the kids found their baskets and found eggs outside

In their Easter clothes from Grandma and Grandpa:
Aria helping Corin smile

Then another hunt at the Murphy's

We also threw together a major hunt the week before Easter with lots of friends, but we didn't get any pictures of that.

Geography Fair '14

One of our Homeschool groups has a geography fair every year. This year was our first.
I let Parker decide what he wanted to learn about for the fair and he chose Egypt (I think his choice was influenced by the fact that we were reading the Golden Goblet, a book that took place in ancient Egypt)

We got the the park where we were having it early, so Parker could make his poster there. While we were there the sprinklers came on to water the grass so Aria got soaked running through them.

Here are my 4 kids at the park (Aria half dry by now)

This little one is just too cute:

Parker making his poster:

I let him do it himself. 100%
Some of the other parents seemed to be more involved in the presentation. (and it was obvious). Not a bad thing but I sort of felt bad for them. In their need to have a perfect poster for their child not only did their child miss the chance to do it themselves and their own way, but I think it's adorable to have the kid-made-poster, and so fun to see what they feel is important enough to put on it.

Showing off his poster
We brought dates and olives to share since they are staples in Egypt.

Splash Pad

We love going to splash pads as it gets warm outside
I don't take pictures except one time but here are some shots from the first week in April

Our first trip of the year:

This was Corin's first time playing at a splash pad:

Spring Training

Here in AZ March means spring training.
I was able to get free spring training tickets on my birthday, So i packed up the kids and we went. (along with some junk food)

Here are the big kids enjoying their snacks:

Terra:

Since all three big kids were wearing baseball hats they wanted Corin to wear one, too.

After I took a couple pictured Aria wanted to take some, so I actually ended up in one:

Even with snacks and multiple trips to the bathroom, the kids got bored fast and we left early.
Though they didn't enjoy the game they enjoyed the walk back to the van, it included:
climbing on "walls of rock"

They had a big grass area with a grass hill that the kids ran around in and rolled down:

Rocks to climb on and a small stream to throw rocks into.
It was probably a quarter mile from the stadium to my parking spot and it took us about 45 minutes to make the trek since they were having so much fun playing as we went, I love letting them play and going at our own pace!
While the big kids played Corin did this:
LOVE the ring sling!
Then a week later a friend got a big pile of free tickets and invited a few of us to go with.
This time we were in a grass seating area and we had friends there, so the kids had a blast.

One of the girls loves babies so she kept holding Corin. She's kind of petite so I love how big he is compared to her:

Parker and his friend Tyden watching the game:

And a video of Terra dancing... so cute!

Fort

We love our climbing dome we got for Christmas. One extra cool thing about it is the ability to make an easy and awesome fort.
Blankets on top=fort

Parker decided to pose with the fort.
His favorite silly face... the nose moose

Regular silly face
