John had his first dentist appointment today. Thank goodness for tvs on the ceiling. He was so good and so interested in the tv he didn't give them a bit of trouble.

Adalyn had her first field trip last week. She went to Wheeler farm. John and I tagged along for fun.

We spent conference weekend with Grandmomma and Grandaddy. During the Priesthood Session the girls (and John) went to the mall. They have this water fountain there that goes along to music. The kids were playing in it when the loudspeaker told everyone to move and watch the water with the music. Adalyn did not listen to this warning and was caught in the middle of this huge fountain. If you look close in the last picture you will see her blue jacket in the very center of the picture. Can you believe that when she got out she was hardly wet.

We went with the McCall family to the Farm at Thanksgiving point for a pig pajama party for Family Night. The kids had a great time.

Happy Birthday Adalyn

Adalyn turned 6 years old today. She opted to have a garden party which I was soooo excited about. I had seen a great idea for a garden party about a year ago and have really wanted to do one. Adalyn and I went and picked out a whole bunch of flowers for her party. She picked out the paper that is decorating the pot. Those are little ants coming up the side of the pot. We made a mud cake (oreos and pudding mixture) and had gummy worms throughout the "dirt". I taped flowers up all over the walls and then put flower on the table. There are little ant and bugs all over the table as well.

Adalyn wanted it to be a surprise so while I was decorating she went to my good friend Kelly's house. She was so excited when she saw it. WE had 3 families in the neighborhood come that Adalyn plays with all the time. There were 12 kids there and let me tell you- none of them have quiet voices. It was so LOUD. Adalyn was all smiles and had a great time. She asked for two things for her birthday- pet shops and transformers. She got both.

The kids decorated foam butterflies that they could take home. Me being the anal mom that I am wouldn't let the kids put on their on glitter. They had to bring them to me and let me put the glitter on so I wouldn't get glitter everywhere. Despite this they kids had a ton of fun and most of all Adalyn had a great birthday.

School has officially started. Alyssa started on the 17. She is in the 2nd grade this year. Her teacher's name is Miss Alysa Hart which Alyssa thinks is very cool. Her teacher also tried out for American Idol one year, but according to Alyssa, "that stinkin' Simon didn't send her to Hollywood".


John wouldn't be left out of the pictures taking process. He loves to hae his pictures taken. He will be very lonely without the girls at home to pester him. Maybe he will enjoy his quiet time. He is growing fast.

Adalyn started Kindergarten. She has been so excited and I am sure she will love it. Her teacher is Mrs Kerr. Mrs Kerr's husband actually was one of Jacob's companions on his mission.

I can't believe my sweet girl is starting Kindergarten.

Yesterday was a day we got to spend with Grandmomma and Grandaddy. We got up about 7:45 and cleaned up the house in case anyone came to look at the house while we were gone. We headed up to their apartment around 8:30. Grandaddy made us pancakes, eggs, and sausage. YUMMY! After sitting around for about and hour after breakfast we packed up in their car and headed to the Kenecott Copper Mines. I have been wanting to go here for a while and see what it is all about. I read some interesting facts to the kids before we left.
-it is the largest open mining place in the world.
-in 1999 it took 36 tons of copper to make all the coins that were made that year. Kenecott takes about 41 days to get that much copper from their mine.
-The wheels on the dump trucks that haul the ore cost 19,000-23,000 a piece and last around a year. They put about 50,000 miles on them during that year.
-the length of the mine at the top is 2 ½ miles long. At over ¾ a mile deep.
We were able to look down in the mile and see to the bottom. They also had a visitors center we were able to read all about the mine. The history to how the mine became a mine is really interesting.
We weren’t quiet sure where it was so we got to go on a driving adventure until we found it.

This is the new Oquerrh Mountain Temple. We were able to go to the dedication on Sunday at our Stake Center. We now have 11 Temples in Utah (if I counted correctly).
