Pet Turtle

Our Pet Turtle

I came across these shots from when we had the turtle and had to post them.  I didn't want to forget our days spent with our second pet.

We went on a walk, "to the rock wall", as the kids call it, it is to the playground over by Lemontree and Bee Creek.  As we were walking on the trail this turtle crossed our path.  It was to cool, I thought I would bring it home with us.  So he rode home in the basket of our stroller, attempting to escape a few times.

Selah loved him right away although it took Radley a few days to warm up to him.  He was so scared of him at first.  We decided to name him Big Red since he was so freakishly red inside (later I learned that turtles carry lots of diseases so that could have been why, I don't know).  We made a little home for him in our old fashion bucket/tub and fed him blueberries mostly.  Everyday we would take him out an let him walk around the deck.  Selah even gave him rides in the basket on her tricycle.  Radley got use to him and would even try and touch his shell and could say turtle.  We had the best time with this little guy.  Right before we went to Grammy's for Easter we took him home to be with his family.

Radley's 9 months old today

Radley you are such an intense boy!  When you are awake you are always on the move, whether that is crawling or walking around holding on to something.  You just love life and exploring.  Your sister and Daddy can make you smile and even crack up the most.  Your laugh is my favorite thing in the world!  Your two bottom teeth grew in and the are so cute, although you have been trying out biting and it is so painful.  I love how you cuddle with me right before you need to go to sleep and how you start to dance with any indication of a tune or song.  You love to wiggle and shake your head no.  You are a good sleeper as well as a good but busy eater.

Here is a picture of Selah the day she turned 9 months old.

8 months and always on the move

We got to spend some time in San Antonio and Radley turned 8 months while we were there so we did a little photo shoot in my Mom's lush backyard...you would never know we are in such a drought.

Radley started crawling a week before he turned 8 months and hasn't stopped since.

Radley at 6 Months

So in two days Radley is actually going to be 9 months!  I have done a terrible job of updating our blog. However, I at least want to show off his 6 months photo shoot that my very talented sister did of him.  I love him in that tie and hat :)  You bring so much joy to my life little one.  I love watching you grow and do new things everyday!

Radley is Now 5 Months Old

I actually had to take you in to the doctor the day you turned 5 months because you had a horrible, sad cough.  They said your throat was also really red and put you on some medicine which helped a lot.  So I now have updated stats:

Weight 19lbs 2oz
Length 26 3/4 inches

What a sweet, bright eyed boy you have turned out to be.  I just love you so so much.  I love holding you and  showing you the world.  I love kissing your huge cheeks and getting wet slobbery kisses from you!  This month you have just become a big baby, it seems, and want to know all about everything.  You still love your sister more than anything.  You have become so good now when we go out, even better behaved that your sister.  You are my laid back happy boy.  Although you are still a challenge going and staying in bed.  I pray that improves soon!

Here is your sister staying busy while I take these pictures :)

Actually I am late posting this, Radley just turned 6 months June 20... I will have that one up soon.
